Wow!! What a game and what a performance. In the last few games and in the second half against United, signs have been there that Poch and the players are starting to get it right, and what a time to start getting it right!!

Let me get the bad bits out of the way first so we can all concentrate on celebrating a much deserved victory over a moaning Mourinho and his Chelsea charges.
Fazio has obviously been learning about Spurs and decided that he must give us all heart failure for the last ten minutes!! He played well mostly but suddenly decided to try silly balls and gave the ball away far too often.
Townsend started well again but faded too much in the second half. That's it. Bad stuff over.

    Hurry Kane

I don't want to just focus on Kane because this was a superb team performance. We pressed the ball well, passed the ball beautifully at times and broke down one of the best defences in Europe.
Kane though is quickly becoming a high class striker. His first goal was about hunger and desire and brilliant finishing. His second goal was about guile, awareness and more beautiful finishing. But it is not just his goals that make him stand out, but his all round play.
He is strong, has a decent turn of pace and what is even better for Spurs is that he will get better. An absolute legend in the making.

    Chadli

Today was quite simply Chadli's best game for Tottenham Hotspur. He ran Cahill ragged and was strong, skilful and fully deserve his goal. If it hadn't been for Kane, Chadli would have been man of the match. He excites me and again will get better.

Team work makes the dream work

One of the issues I have had with Spurs at times this season has been the lack of communication between the players but in the second half against United and today, we looked cohesive and passed the ball extremely well.
There was a tempo about us today but also the fitness of the players is improving with each game. Some will try and say we were luck today but let's not even respond to that and just be content in the knowledge that we were superb today and gave Chelsea a good game and were worthy winners.

Monday sees us play Burnley in the FA cup and another cup run in the second half of the season along with more performances like today and what looked like a season of failure again, could, just could turn out to be one of the best in years.

Time will tell, but for now.....COME ON YOU SPUUUURRRSSSS!!!!

Definitely agree. Chadli was great, Kane unplayable and our defense was, for the majority of the game, solid - three mistakes and 3 goals. Room for improvement, for sure, but take nothing away from today. Brilliant performance, having not watched the Man United game - I was worried about Mason and Bentaleb but after the former was taken off, Bentaleb was class in midfield with Dembele. They were superb in defending the back 4, Rose had a great night, scoring a goal at a fantastic time, Walker bombed on frequently and Faz and Jan were class - for the majority of the game. We were unlucky to concede three times, I felt. Eriksen was quiet, Paulinho definitely did a job, by the way - he looked a physical outlet - and Kane was majestic up top.

Special mention to Lloris - we have lost one of the 15 games he's been captain, and that was Chelsea away - this shows, above all, that he is very good and Kaboul very very ****.

Amazing performance tonight. More like this, and top 4 is definitely on - City at home, Arsenal at home, are both winnable after this - if we get results at Old Trafford, Anfield and away to Southampton we are well in with a chance.

Happy New Year to all posters and contributors! What a performance our best of the year!!! But seriously, Kane and Chadli were immense today, by far and a way their best performances. Don't know about you guys, but even at 3-1, 4-1 and 5-2 i couldnt relax, thought we would get done over, but this team is mentally much more adept. Thought the ref did well with all the decisions, especially the Hazard dive near the end!!! Not to detract from such a good performance, but their were a couple of issues that concerned me. Danny Rose again was poor, he had a couple of chances to put Hazard in row z, but backed off, they let him play far too much. Bentaleb was slow to track back, and we lost a few midfield duels early on - Dembele did a lot better. Eriksen had an off day, if he would have been at the races we would have won 9-3!!!! All this intricate passing at the back looks good, but invariably we lose the ball or hit wayward passes. Can't believe where we are in the table and the future looks bright. Kane may need a strike partner, as he ends up doing far too much out on the wings, but if he keeps scoring who cares!!! All in all a brilliant performance to push on from. At last we may have something to cheer about. Up the totters!!!!

Loving all the comments boys!! For me the single factor in our change of fortune is ......... KING KANE. He drives everything and his hard work and direct play lifts his team mates and fans alike. We desperately need to sell Addy and Robbie, and bring in another hard working and direct striker.
    COYS. VERY PROUD TONIGHT.

Harry was excellent yesterday. but I thought his near-assist for Mason against manure, which most have already forgotten, was unbelievable. It would have been the assist of the season, worldwide, if Mason had scored.

It's the morning after and I have nothing to say other than I'm still floating on a Lilywhite and Navy Blue cloud, and I probably will until next Wednesday when I go back to work. Those of us who championed Pochettino's appointment are beginning to feel vindicated. Hell, even Chiriches and Paulinho are beginning to look like professional footballers again! I suppose asking for the same for Ade and Kaboul may be demanding too much. I loved DeAndre Yedlin's tweet last night! First time at the Lane, eh? Yeah, it's some club you've come to! Drink it all in and do your best to contribute and enjoy! Can't wipe the silly grin away and still floating on my cloud. COME ON YOU SPURS!

To those who said Eriksen had an off day - I've seen it commented.

He took a back row seat but his movement wrecked havoc constantly - how much of Matic did we see protecting the back 4? Exactly...we didn't. Eriksen ran him all over the park - for the Kane goal, Matic was dragged out of position, creating space for the shot. It proves how easily he can adapt to the situation and commands Poch clearly gave him - signs of things to come against the bigger teams?

Fantastic display from Spurs. DL please keep Adebyour away from Kane at any price give him away if you have to .Kabul to no future at the Lane for imposters. #COYS # NOW let's expose the gooners on our way to our destiny. Absolutely amazing win, loved every moment of it.

Interesting how some people have changed their tune in the last month or so http://tottenhamlive.com/threads/poorchettino.224/

However great this win was we need to remember it and to back the manager after the next disappointing defeat or sticky spell..
