Just to say Angelos it’s nice to have a regular poster on here again .We may not agree on every thing but it is nice to have a debate without abuse.i agree that a manager should go and pick players who can implement his system which is one of my doubts about Ange because he has had 2 transfer windows to do this and has failed.Where does a double loan for Verner fit in this plan. The teams who have been successful playing this way do adjust for difficult games and all had an outstanding defence and defensive midfielder,.They also had a manager not frightened to make subs early instead of the Ange way 10 minutes from the end of Play when it is too late. How many of spurs back four would get in City or Arsenal side.We have a window coming up in January and Ange must know what he needs and push for it or else Levy will rule again.Your point about looking forward to watching us play is noted but I have a friend who is a Newcastle supporter and he is the same but because he enjoys the collapsing(his words)

Just seen an interesting stat.people talking about united only taking 53 points from possible 105.Spurs have taken 52 from last 105.most people think united should sack Den hag but Ange gets away Scot free. Why

Well because ten Hag has been at United for some time and his team is going backwards/not improving despite spending enormous amounts of money on players. Ange has received some backing but nowhere near that level. Most of his buys have been good I would say. And I wouldn’t give up on Werner just yet … he’s a pretty good backup … certainly better than the bloke United spent 85 million on. You know he did finally score on the weekend (ruled offside after the fact) and had an assist. Just needs some luck to go his way.

So one less point than a pathetic United is improving??Vernerdoes make good runs sometimes but when near the penalty area he flakes and always did at chelsea

I think with the exception of the second half last week (and the Carabao but that was a second string side) the team has played well without great reward this season. We definitely struggled at times last year when we were gutted injury wise, and if we get injury struck again this season, we will no doubt struggle again.

But I think the team is improving/looking pretty good overall but obviously results will need to fall in line with performances going forward because the table doesn’t make great reading at the moment.

Yes that is the difference between us and Utd. We have shown that there is a clear game plan, we have looked for large parts of most games like we are capable of winning by a cricket score and (which I do think is important) even if we do have the same amount of points, we are a hell of a better watch now.
This season , in particular, a few rubs of the green and we win nearly all the games. Big thing is breaking that habit of falling apart when on top

You say we must break the habit of falling apart when on top but that is what we are famous for and have been for years..I would like to win because we deserve it not a rub of green.Losing to Newcastle and drawing with Leicester was down to shocking play in the attacking half not bad luck.Leicester Newcastle and Brighton were outplayed and adjusted their tactics to turn the games something Ange is incapable of doing.I am not a great believer that the man can adapt to the challenges in the premiership although I would be delighted to be proved wrong.i think it is great that you have this optimism as opposed to my pessimism and that is what makes this great game so good

Yes absolutely … we have to turn performances into results consistently at some point. As great as we are to watch (with the odd aberration), it’s not sustainable otherwise … including for the manager … who will pull the plug himself like all those before him.

I don’t expect us to be great every single game over a very long season (that’s not realistic) but I also don’t understand the complete lack of application and resignation of our players last time out against an average side.

They will need to come with an absolute fire in their belly against West Ham next week.

Must win or the writing will be on the wall for Ange.Losing to a poor West Ham side afterBrighton will stretch even the most optimistic supporters

It’s a long season but I’d agree with that … have to draw a line in the sand after the disgrace last time out … I think they will … no excuse not to

So are we going to kick some ass this weekend? (I prefer the American spelling when it comes to this lol)

We’re topping all the meaningful metrics … we look good … I’m all in this weekend.

    3-1!

  15. Angelos Guest

    I like your thinking!

With Sonny and Richy back, we’ve got plenty of options up front.

Good win. But I don’t think it was a great deal different to most of our other games.
    2 differences

Firstly Son instead of Werner, no way Werner scores the goal Son scored
Secondly , the rub of the green, I said with the rub of the green in most of our other matches we win them comfortably. This time Kulusevski’s shot hits the post and spins in, Son forces an own goal. Small margins change things

btw big call from Ang at half time with Madders. Also anybody going to admit they may have been wrong in saying kulu does t deserve to be a starter? He has found his position, he reminds me a bit of waddle, very one footed and gets passed people without looking like he should

    good result

ps still not sure where the udogie from the first half of last season is!

Great performance today … a good day to be a Spurs fan.

Can we drop the nonsense about the manager now?

  18. Angelos Guest

PS. I’ve been somewhat critical of Kulu … as in … he’s good but I’m not sure he’ll ever be world class … but the boy is a machine … an absolute unit … with high-end technique … the jury is still out … but he may well be our best signing in many a year

  19. Angelos Guest

PPS. Very interesting canning of Maddison at half time … did he chirp off to the manager at the break?

Madders is one of our most naturally talented players … but he’s also too loose for his own good … I look forward to hearing about the fallout.
