The future certainly looks bright for Tottenham, with a host of young players in Mauricio Pochettino’s first team and looking like they will be the core of the Spurs side for years to come.

The likes of Harry Kane, Ryan Mason, Nabil Bentaleb and Andros Townsend have all come through the club’s youth system before going on to become first-team regulars.

Townsend has been speaking out about playing alongside the young stars that he has come through the ranks with and has spoken about the Spurs youngsters in the same breath as Manchester United’s fabled Class of 92 side.

"It’s great to be playing with players you grew up with. To then be successful and go to cup finals and go to big teams like Fiorentina with them, it’s a great thing to have," said Townsend.

"Of course it’s a great inspiration to look at the Class of 92 but those players, they went on to become the greatest players in the country.

“They’re a great inspiration for us but there are no comparisons. We’re just young players trying to make a living in the game - and so far all of us are doing well.”

Just whether Spurs youngsters can go on to be as successful as the likes of David Beckham, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs remains to be seen, but having young players that have come through the ranks at Spurs is certainly a massive positive for the club.

    Alex Pritchard

Another young star that could well be in line for a role in the Spurs first team next season is Alex Pritchard, with the diminutive winger continuing to do well on loan at Championship side Brentford.

The 21-year-old put in a man-of-the-match performance on Saturday for the Griffin Park outfit to seal a 3-1 win over high-flying Bournemouth.

Pritchard contributed his side’s second goal, before setting up the third for Christopher Long to put the result beyond doubt.

The Spurs youngster is a key player in Brentford’s hopes of finishing in the playoff places, with the Middlesex-based outfit only a point adrift of the top six.

Pritchard has now scored seven goals in 30 starts for his temporary employers and looks like he is more than good enough to play Premier League football.

With a number of Tottenham’s attacking midfield options yet to fully win over the White Hart Lane faithful, giving Pritchard a chance in the first team next season could well be on the cards.

The young starlet is lightning quick, good with both feet and could well be an exciting option on the right-hand side of Spurs’4-2-3-1 formation alongside the likes of Christian Eriksen and Nacer Chadli.

It would be a minor miracle if the Spurs youngsters led the club to a period of domestic domination akin to what the Class of 92 did for United, but there is no doubting that we are producing some excellent young players that can take the club forward for years to come.

Great to see the academy producing players for the 1st team you'd hope coming through the ranks they are Tottenham through and through, which can only breed a passion for the club and a togetherness that all top teams have.
I'd rather have 10 Masons on the pitch than 10 Paulinhos all day long.

If Alex Pritchard is improving and proving himself that he can play in another club, than it will only be right to bring him back, to be with his ' Mates ' like Kane, Townsend, Mason n Bentaleb.
AND if he can play with ' both feet ', even better still, as in the world of football, it looks like there are Not many 2-footed players like a Messi who tho small, can run, dribble and shoot with both feet, which defenders n goalkeepers don't like.
Further beef him up and bring him back.
    Anything on Tom Carrol ?
