The transfer rumour mill is well underway and it is bound to either bring delight or disappointment for us.

After a big summer blowout in the summer of 2013, the next two transfer windows have, unsurprisingly, practiced caution and care. After six months at the Spurs helm, the question is – has Mauricio Pochettino done enough to convince Daniel Levy to spend any of his Christmas vouchers?

    Ben, Danny and now Aly?

The Daily Mirror believe that we are in the hunt, along with Napoli, for Aston Villa’s French left-back Aly Cissokho. The Mirror put this interest down to the player’s solid form for Villa in which he has shown attacking instinct and excellent crossing.

Cissokho only joined Villa from Valencia this summer on a four-year deal, after an unimpressive loan spell at Liverpool last season. The Mirror are that convinced of this interest, that they add Paul Lambert has instructed his scouts to look for a ready-made replacement.

With left-backs Danny Rose and Ben Davies already at the club, it comes as no surprise that fans are not convinced by the plausibility of this proposed transfer. In a poll at the end of The Mirror’s article, 69% of readers voted that Cissokho would not go to Spurs.

    The Aaron Lennon Hokey Cokey

First he’s in, then he’s out – Aaron Lennon has been subject to fair bit of speculation regarding an exit during his long career at the Lane. This pattern continued at the end of last week when it was reported that Roberto Mancini’s Inter Milan were interested in the winger.

This rumour has been rubbished today by the Guardian who have taken quotes from two of Inter’s top men. Via their club’s official website, Piero Ausillo, Inter sporting director, said: “Lennon? We are not interested in the Tottenham player. He does not have the profile we are looking for.”

Ausillo’s thought was also supported by boss Mancini, who added of the situation: “We have not spoken about Lennon but about other players.

Inter’s confirmation of non-interest comes off the back of new interest in Lennon – this time from QPR. The Telegraph write that Lennon was close to a loan-move to Loftus Road in the summer, but pulled out 15 minutes before the deadline – with the aim of fighting for his place at Spurs.

Pochettino’s recent team selection has also added to Lennon’s situation, as The Telegraph add that our number 7 is the last in the pecking order of Lamela, Chadli and Townsend. This may be enough to convince the player to accept a move this winter.

    Yedl‘IN’

The 'will he or won’t he come in January’ scenario for DeAndre Yedlin looks set to conclude with Sky Sports and The Daily Mirror breaking the news that the American has been granted a work permit.

Lyall Thomas, of Sky Sports, adds that the player was extremely keen to make the early switch from the Sounder to Spurs. Yedlin has expressed his interest in learning off both his manager and fellow fullback Kyle Walker, saying: “I’m excited to learn from him [Walker] and learn from the other full-backs, and from coach Mauricio Pochettino, who’s great with young players.

I’m an attacking full-back and I felt when I signed that England will fit my playing style better. Tottenham was a good situation for me."

Sky Sport’s Lyall Thomas has also said more on Tottenham’s transfer situation come January, tweeting from his account @LyallThomas: “Do not expect a busy January at #Tottenham. Few ins and outs could happen but there will not be wholesale changes. #thfc.”

It would appear Yedlin is definitely coming to the Lane in January, so I would fathom that Naughton and maybe even Chiriches will be shipped out. That would still give s two players at right back and from the little I have witnessed of Yedlin, he certainly looks to be an exciting prospect.
As for Lennon, I still rate him but he needs to be playing every week. If he does move on then I wish him all the very best. I think it highly unlikely that anyone is going to want to sign Adebayor with his ridiculous wages and terrible attitude. If we can at least get him out on loan, that would be a fantastic start. I can't wait to see the back of him.
Berehinho is far from the answer we need. He is okay but not consistent. We must sign a player who can complement Kane who more than deserves to be a mainstay of the team for many years to come.
Soldado has tried hard but it just isn't working so he needs to be sold.
Pochettino now has the chance to try and bring in players that he views as being part of his Tottenham. Top four was never a priority this season, but next season it is a must if we want to attract the very best players. We have the money, levy just needs to allow the manager, no be else to spend it on players he wants.
    Come on you spurs!!!

  3. Why would any club want to buy a player who never scores cant take a corner or free kick gets in one half decent cross every 5th game cant pass a ball more than 5 yards.who am i refering to take one guess.

Azza is well past his sell by date and for years has always flattered to deceive, if you put together all of his good effective games weve had about 1 decent season out of him in about 9.
Lennon has been typical of the Enic era promised alot delivered very little and just like Enic its time for them and him to go, lets get some end product winners into the club.

  5. At long last someone who agrees with me lennon is useless and the quicker he is on his way the better, but the question is who would buy him.
