The window of deadwood doesn’t seem to be going the way we hoped, as more and more players seem to be set to stay rather than a move away.

Despite shifting Kyle Naughton - the likes of Paulinho, Vlad Chiriches, Etienne Capoue, Aaron Lennon and Emmanuel Adebayor still remain at the club – despite just under five hours remaining of this window.

    Juju strikes again

First it was PSG, then QPR, followed by Stoke and then West Ham. Now, Emmanuel Adebayor is looking more and more likely to be staying at Spurs.

Despite Rory Smith, of The Times, believing a loan-move for our number ten was on the cards to the Hammers, BBC’s Ben Smith has recently reported that the move to East London has in fact stalled!

However, a way out of Spurs for Adebayor is still looking plausible – with the bookmakers putting Stoke City as low as 2/1, down from from 33/1, to sign the striker before tonight’s deadline.

    Lennon hokey cokey

Every window is like the hokey cokey when it comes to Aaron Lennon and proposed moves away – first he’s out, then he’s in! And today looks set to be the same scenario of will he/won’t he.

Despite early reports suggesting Lennon to Hull on loan was practically a ‘done deal’, today has told us that Azza was unsure on a move up to the KC. As a result, Mark Hughes and Stoke City looked set to pounce.

Ben Smith of the BBC, again, has shed light on another transfer rumour at Spurs – this time regarding Lennon. Smith tweeted, from his account @BenSmithBBC, that: “I'm told Aaron Lennon's proposed move to Stoke is very much 50-50 at this stage.”

However, the latest news on Lennon's dealings with Stoke come from The Mirror's Darren Lewis. Since Smith's original tweet, Lewis himself (@MirrorDarren) has tweeted: "The bench at Spurs must be very comfy. Lennon understood to have decided against joining Stoke."

This one could go either way - as they say!

Mirallas set to stay at Goodison

It had been rumoured that Lennon was to be a part of a deal that would have seen Kevin Mirallas go from the blue and white of Everton to the blue and white of Spurs. Now, Kevin Palmer, of Ireland’s Sunday World, has said that the Belgian will not be leaving Merseyside.

Palmer, from his account @KPSundayWorld, tweeted: “Everton have just confirmed to me that Kevin Mirallas will not be going to Spurs and Adnan Januzaj will not arrive on loan”.

After being linked with wingers such Mephis Depay and Yehven Konoplyanka, Mirallas was once considered to be an achievable target for Spurs during this winter window.

The latest news is that Palace and QPR were offered Adebayor with Spurs offering to pay a certain amount of his wages, but neither club has met the desired amounts. West Ham then came in for him but Daniel Levy told them in no uncertain terms that if they wanted him, they would have to pay the full amount.
So, it looks like he will remain at WHL and possibly be moved on in the summer.

And also Lennon is off to Everton on loan with the option to buy at the end of the season
