Southampton huffed and puffed and failed to blow the house down today. There were 2 handball calls. I thought that 1 was nailed on and the other would have been harsh and considering our penalty at Man City, we can't complain.

Whilst it's still a little early to say we can't win the league at all, we have to be realistic and think it's now a taller order than ever. From needing 2 wins to needing at least 2 wins and a draw to win on goal difference, it now looks like second is what we have to aim for.

What I've found embarrassing are the Spurs fans on social media saying Leicester are lucky etc. Look, they have played well and when they haven't played well they have won.

I would look to Newcastle, Arsenal, Liverpool, and Leicester at home. All games we threw points away. All games we should have won. Had we won them we would be looking at lifting the trophy.

What must happen is that Levy must get Poch to sign a new contract now. We must build on this season.
    Must, must , must.

    I hate football so much.

Leicester have had luck at big times in big games. They've had set piece success, theyve had their centre back appear in the opposition box for no reason today, they've got lucky with the fixture list in that they played the big teams when the pressure was off them.

We can only win our own games and I think we can afford to drop points once in the remaining few games. We need one more run, the time where we went 18/18 in the earlier spring or an unbeaten run too. It's unlikely that Leicester will not drop 7 points across 7 games, so we must keep our heads up and focus on ourselves.

I do not see Leicester picking up more than one point from there last five games and hence as long as we keep above the arse I believe it will be ours. They have struggled with 1-0 forever now.

It's just frustration because even if we take our Tottenham blinkers off we think we are a better side then them ... Even all the stats you'd associate with champions we lead , goal diff , best deff , goals scored etc etc .... All except the only one that really matters , points on the board ... I think given time we,ll appreciate what they've actually achieved this season , but at the moment , being so wrapped up in our own quest , for the first time in a huge amount of our fans lives actually being truely involved in a title hunt , it hurts .... The fact it's a Leicester team , a 5000/1 team at the start , a team that really should have absolutely no chance is going to beat us to it is so unreal , it's bloody heartbreaking .... I said on a post a few weeks back , like all our fans I'd rather anyone then the shithouse down the road to win it but being beaten to it by a team , when 99% of us feel we are better then them is almost as tough .... It's not over yet but given the fixtures for both sides it's hard to see us collect 7 more points then them over the final six games but as ever we live in hope ... C.O.Y.S ......

Just look at the table and our draws. It is those draws that have cost us. We could still win it but in all honesty I just can't see it now.

Def 2 points dropped. Like I said, it was a poor result yesterday if u take ur rose tinted specs off!

Have to agree Matt, we only have our home form to blame. Stoke, Everton, Liverpool, Barcodes and Goons - 10 points dropped there; end of. Plenty of points could/should have been taken away too.

We are where we are; but, most importantly it is an improvement on last season with CL qualification (hopefully!).

Looking forward to next season, we must keep the spine of the team and bring in some quality additions (striker, winger etc) otherwise we will be found out (Dortmund style) and extend MoPo's contract.

For now, take care of our games and get a winning run together and see where we finish.

Counting your chickens a wee bit in terms of top 4 ... Next week is a crucial one in that contest , loose and it will blow that race wide open , win and it's more or less mission accomplished .... C.O.Y.S .....

Leicester are where they are because they deserve it, they've got the wins when they've needed them.
This started with that loss at Sham, and the points thrown v scum!
A title hungry performance it was not v Liverpool yesterday and now with the run in I can actually see Scum overtaking us aswell.
Although GD and performance has improved I can't help feeling it's the collapse of the main 4 that has us where we are rather than the strides forward made.
CL qualification is the only plus for me now and something we MUST use to our advantage in keeping our Spine and making 3/4 Quality signings to bolster.
Although a Title challenge was never in the minds of anyone start of the season, can't help thinking we blew this opportunity.
We wasted all that time in the Europa only to send a reserve side out v Dortmund, and we wasted replays in the Fa cup to do likewise. It really does irk me the logic applied sometimes.

Some good posts here. For me it's summed up perfectly by Burnt - the idea that LEICESTER will be the team that beats us to the title. That is indeed heartbreaking to contemplate. It's in the same vain as finishing 4th and Chelsea fluking the champions league , or lasagne-gate. Just those little things that feel like they can only happen to Spurs. Seriously what were the chances of us getting so close to a title only to be beaten to it by a team that were probably one of the favourites to go down at the start of the season?

And I can't get things out of my head like that game against the goons where we conceded a late equaliser or the oh too predictable loss to West Ham. We blew some serious chances. You could argue we bottled it after all.

A lot of people talk about this as being our only chance for years to come. They talk of Pep coming into Man City, Klopp eventually turning Liverpool round , Chelsea obviously coming back stronger, Man Utd too , and suggest we will be back to dreaming of 4th again for god knows how many years.

I'm curious do people here think that's the way it will pan out ? Didn't everyone think Van Gaal was going to be Man Utds saviour? How do we really know ? Pep isn't proven in the EPL afterall. I truly hope that that's not how it pans out and we are now a force for many years to come which hopefully means we will have that title sooner rather than later.

First post here by the way - it's nice to unload a little as I have few I can talk football with

    Welcome!

Personally I think City and Chelsea will rise again, the Scum will b there abouts and we'll b slight favourites for 4th with Liverpool and Utd still in a rebuild, which is why it's imperative we introduce some quality to the side while we have CL football to do so.

I'm sure every team bar the winners will look back at diff stages and have regrets to be fair but that's the way in every sport .. Think we only took 3 points out of first 12 so that was also crucial looking back .. I agree with you about part of our improvement is down to the collapse of the so called big sides but I suppose the next season or two will reveal to what degree .... If nothing else we have laid what looks like a proper foundation for the foreseeable future , now how much we build on that and make the most of it remains to be seen .... If this season has taught us anything , it's sometimes the future can be anything but predictable ... C.O.Y.S. .....

    Thoughts......

Personally I feel we should focus on the six remaining games, look to win them all and don't worry for one moment what Leicester are doing.....

Watched them again today, not great, okay they won, but there day will come when those last three games arrive.....we just need to make sure we've kept them in range, so that it has to be down to THEM as much as us. Stay 7 points behind, a better goal difference, it could still be ours.

Just remember Polar Express, if you believe the bell still rings.....keep it there lads, take it down to those three games.....

Meh, it's over, of course it is but what a season. Great manager, great players, one or two more astute acquisitions in the summer and we're serious contenders. Happy days!:)

Haha that's what happens on extended paternity leave. Just me and a 5 month old and a partner who hates football. I can't wait til the little man can talk - although he does get to hear me shout at the TV and complain.

It's Leicester's to lose. I so want to see us win the league - I was born the year after we last did it and I just hope we keep calm perform well and see what the end of the season brings. There's still a chance even if it is slim. But I really believe something special is happening at Spurs. This season has far exceeded any hopes on my part. All going well this will be our best finish in over 50 years and we should have champions league. Were young and these are the most exciting / promising times I can remember. Anything can still happen and if not it's been an unbelievable season!

Biggest thing about today is they're now more than two games clear. I still think if we're within 2 points of them by the last day we'll edge it, but it's going to take three or four games where they drop points to catch them. If they do it, fair play to them.

We blew it with the loss to West Ham, then drew against the scum, and another draw with Liverpool didn't help matters. We need to beat Utd next week or else I can see Arsenal passing us and if we're not careful we'll drop out of the top four. The home games against Stoke,Newcastle & Liverpool were costly as was the defeat to Leicester. We have drawn to many games this season that we should have won. We need to get back to winning ways and pick up 18 points out of 18 - in order to at least consolidate the position that we are currently in.

Huth handball must have been called. Football gods gave it to Spurs, but Oliver took it away...

Season is not over, though. We still have to finish above you know whom. If English football giants are destine for recovery, I can't see why MU and/or Chelsea won't start that this season. I think they have. So Foxes might have celebrated prematurely, although do no not hold my breath over that...
At this point Spurs must take care of their own business and stop losing points moving forward.
