    With United losing again in the lunchtime kick off , our game against Norwich gave us another chance to pick up 3 points and start cementing that top 4 place.

    In the early stages, Norwich started brightly and Spurs had Lloris to thank for a wonderful birthday boy save for keeping the scores level. Eventually though, Spurs got hold of the ball and started laying siege on the Norwich goal.
    Alli and Kane are building a real understanding with each other and their interplay was at times a joy to watch. Alli helped the ball on to Kane who was brought down for a definite penalty. Kane stepped forward and dispatched to send Spurs into the lead. It was Alli who again combined with Kane who found a bit of space and a tight angle to force home to give Spurs a 2 - 0 lead.

    Spurs then dominated the second half although the canaries did force a couple of great saves from Lloris. Poch was waving his charges forward and was clearly aware that we need to kill games off. It was in the 80th Minute that the killer third goal came with a superb strike from Carroll from just over 20 yards.

    Eriksen looks tired at the moment and it may be sensible to rest him and play Son for a short while. Eriksen is talented but he is going missing in too may games.

    In reality the score line ended up flattering Norwich as Alderweireld amongst others were wasteful with clear chances.

    3 points are well earned and now we move on to an even more difficult game. Watford are on a high and would consider themselves unlucky to only leave the Bridge today with the one point. A point at Vicarage Road would be decent, another 3 points would be an excellent outcome.

    4th position today. Let's now keep it and even aim higher. As ever, come on you Spurs!!!

    How about Shane Long at Spurs folks? Pace, strength and finishing ability?

    Dont agree on the Eriksen comment. To me it seems that he is not getting the ball enough. He didn't receive the ball at all for the first 20 minutes, and therefore went missing a bit. Once he got the ball he instantly started creating chances.

    I dont think Poch is considering not playing him. Only reason he was subbed with 20 minutes to go was likely to have him ready for Monday.

    Agree that Eriksen was a but anonymous, but the quality of his set piece deliveries is hard to replicate. Even on a day like this.

    good results all round and what about le arse, brilliant, specialy after we picked up an easy 3 points there last week. I still dont think we are playing our best and to me Eriksen looks way off form. Ive always rated Eriksen as class and vital to this team but agree that he needs a spell and Son needs a decent run as the 3 behind Harry are not scoring enuf.
    Nice goal Tommy Carrol who looks to be in favour at the mo with no sign of Bentaleb or Mason. Bring on Watford and should be a good game.

  8. Suddenly, after a 7-goal shift, we have a better goal difference than the Gooners (and better than everyone else except Citeh). Could be crucial come April for clinching 3rd place (or even 2nd?)

    May be it is time to put Erik on the bench he is a great player but we can not afford to have a player in the team just for his free kicks he needs to create more.Son should do the job, and unless he gets a run in the team he can never regain his goal touch,Tom scored a class goal but I think he should stay on the bench for now and come on when we need his pace..

    Another positive result; 3 points and a clean sheet. Certainly a good response in light of the devastating result against the Toon!

    Now on to the tricky trip at Watford. If we are all honest, this is a game that we can and should win if we want to secure a position within the top 4 come May. Too many points dropped to date and therefore a gritty performance which grinds out a victory would be welcomed here.

    In any case, I think 4 points from Watford and Everton is the minimum return needed. We can do it and need to focus, game at a time!

    Have to agree on the Eriksen debate. Looks spent atm and has certainly been more of a passenger of late. Time to give Son a run and Eriksen a rest. Personally, I think he has been played out of position and can be more effective in the hole behind Kane...

    Watford are the only team who play 442 so it will be a battle in the midfield,Dier and Ali will have there work cut out but I fear this is the type of match with yellow/red cards,Capoue has a point to prove and Ali will not hold back,if Dembele's ankle is ok he should help to calm things down,they have 2 good striker's so our pair of Vert and Toby must be on there game,our front group with Son instead of Eriksen can apply enough pressure on the clown Gomez for him to gift a few drops for us to punish them,a close match with drama,Spurs to win but it will be close...

    1. That loss to Newcastle will cost more than any goal differential.
    2. Agree with Matt, Eriksen is a passenger for now. Whether he is tired or not is hard to tell. He is no longer Harry's feeder as this role went to Alli.
    3. Let's kill this Udinese extension!

    I remember being at the Udinese game a number of years back. It seemed that Gomes was already playing for the Italians - under no pressure he mis-controlled the ball and then hauled down their striker for a penalty.
    Plenty of chasing the keeper down and a few daisy-cutters should reward us with goals this afternoon.

    I'm with you Matt....watched MOTD and he looked sharp and quick. Think he would suit our play as a back up to Harry, or in a two up for the occasional game....and not too pricey....

    Massively tough duo of away fixtures. Again I'd take four points tbf... However if we could sneak six the toon loss will be almost insignificant and will make for a great Xmas period if we are in the top four having started December outside of it.
    In regards for the new year I'm hoping target(s) have been identified already and just need rubber stamping to give us a fighting chance to achieve our goals.

    I am sure Poch and Levy have decided who to go for and for what price,both will do what is good for Spurs,Levy has let us down in the past but now he has a manager who has given fans hope that we have turned the corner and need's to be backed..

    This seasons premiership is far from ova, in fact, its just starting 2 get very interesting. Nobody looks or seems invincible which is why this is a fantastic opportunity for Spurs to fin as high as possible.....and.......come may, who knows wot we mite achieve. In the past the PL was champion was decided at this stage,this year so many teams in trouble dropping points,sacking manager's,so there is no better time than now for Spurs to step up and return to the glory day's,a few new face's in the window and the fans behind the team we will be there..

    Agree, Mitchell et al will have been working hard in the background re. transfers. I'm sure the focus will be on summer targets, with January's already identified - however, the trick lies in getting the deals over the line. Always difficult for Levy, especially in the January window! I just hope we don't leave it to the 11th hour (as usual) and actually get the deals done asap; there are important points up for grabs.

    Moreover, one would now hope that due2 the fact we have a real chance of nailing a top 4 spot that we shall invest wisely to ensure depth, a bit more quality, whilst keeping things fresh and providing competition for places.

    COYS go sting the Hornets and take the 3 points!

    I tell you what would be nice for the next round of PL fixtures...

    Spurs away win - obvs;
    Bournemouth away win :);
    Chelksi/Utd bore draw;
    Swans away win;
    Leic/Citeh draw; and
    Sunderland home win...

    Keep the faith!
