Spurs can move to within 4 points of 4th placed West Ham United with a victory over Swansea City on Sunday.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side slipped to a disappointingly lacklustre 1-0 defeat away at Besiktas on Thursday to complete their run of 3 games without a win in all competitions, however the final Champions League place is still in sight.

    Team News

With the result taking a turn for the worse on Thursday night in Turkey, there was a silver lining that came in for form of a return for flying fullback Kyle Walker.

Walker had been out since March but the England man managed a 75 minute stint and could be in contention again today, especially as Kyle Naughton is expected to sit out with a heel injury along with Eric Dier who will be tested late.

Jan Vertonghen, Harry Kane, Ryan Mason, Nabil Bentaleb and Christian Eriksen should all return after their midweek rest, while Emmanuel Adebayor is absent for personal reasons.

    Opponents View

Swansea will be full of confidence having lost just one of their last 10 games in all competitions at the Liberty Stadium.

Garry Monk’s side’s last 6 shows an interesting pattern of results, having taken it in turns to draw then win then lose. Following that pattern would see the sides share the points today following their defeat to West Ham last week.

Only Chelsea, Southampton Man City have shipped less goals than the Swans this season, having conceded just 17 goals in the League. However, they will be without their suspended first team goalkeeper in Lukasz Fabianski for the clash.

    What They Said

Manager Mauricio Pochettino “We know that Swansea have made a good start to the season and have very good players, but we have confidence in our skills and we will try to get the three points. After three games, we need to score. It has not been possible to score in the last few games, but we need to score against Swansea.”

Goalkeeper Michel Vorm “They try to keep the ball and press high – they are similar to us. Gylfi Sigurdsson is probably one of their best players and he used to play here, so obviously the lads will know him. There’s also Wilfried Bony who is someone we must not give a chance to, but everybody knows that.”

    Expected Line Up

Lloris; Walker Vertonghen Fazio Davies; Mason Bentaleb; Lennon Eriksen Lamela; Kane
