German and Italian clubs queuing up for Spurs defender

Reports in Italy claim Vlad Chiriches has moved a step closer to leaving Tottenham Hotspur after talks on Wednesday night over the Romanian defender’s future.

Sport Witness have revealed that the 25-year-old has various suitors across Europe should Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino decide to allow him to leave.

TMW believe Serie A club AS Roma help talks with the White Hart Lane club on Wednesday, following their Champions League exit, over the defender’s future.

Although the league form of the Rome club has been good, they sit second in the table having won 10 of their 14 matches.

Strengthen back four

It is felt Rudi Garcia would like to bolster his back four, as he allowed Mehdi Benatia to move to Bayern Munich last summer.

The Romanian has long been linked with a move to Italy and in particular the Stadio Olimpico.

It seems Roma are the front runners for any deal involving the former Steaua Bucuresti man, however it is believed they would prefer a loan deal with a view to a permanent transfer at the end of the current campaign.

German sides also involved

Evening Standard believe Bundesliga clubs Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen have also registered an interest, whilst Serie A champions Juventus are said to be keen.

Chiriches would only move on though were the deal a permanent one, and not a loan like Roma are believed to want.

With just over two weeks to go until the transfer window opens again you can expect the Romanian to be the talk of the town regarding players leaving White Hart Lane.
