Spurs continued to struggle at home after they failed to break down a well organised Crystal Palace side in a 0-0 draw at White Hart Lane.

A poor performance in a match we were expected to win. These are the matches, against mid table sides, that we should be winning comfortably at home especially if we want to get into the top four.

    Hugo Lloris – 8
    – By far our man of the match, with a number of key saves to keep us in the match including a fantastic diving save to deny Dann in the first half.

Eric Dier – 4 – Was torn apart by Bolasie all game. Looked uncomfortable at right back.

Fazio – 6 – Had a solid game. Didn’t do anything amazing but won a number of aerial duels.

Vertonghen – 6 – Along with Fazio he had an ok game. Made a few important blocks in the box.

Davies – 7 – Was probably our best outfield player today. He was up against tough opposition in Zaha but he dealt with him well.

    Bentaleb – 5
    – Was poor today. Made the wrong decisions on the ball and got caught in possession a number of times resulting in a Palace chance.

Mason – 5 – Tried to force the ball into the box too many times resulting in loss of possession. Was substituted in the second half for Paulinho.

    Lamela – 4
    – Had a really poor game today. Lost the ball on numerous occasions and made a number of poor passes. Substituted at half time for Chadli.

Kane – 5 – Had his worst game of the season today. He looked tired and leggy and tried to force things.

    Eriksen – 6
    – Tried his best to create chances but it wasn’t his day. Nearly scored early on after a fantastic piece of skill.

    Soldado – 5
    – Had at least two really good chances to score but missed. His link up play was decent but other than that he was quiet. Was substituted for Lennon.

    Substitutes

    Chadli – 5
    – Came on at half time for Lamela but he did not create a lot and was a bit quiet.

Paulinho – N/A – Came on for Mason in the second half. Had a half chance cleared off the line.

Lennon – N/A – Should have come on a lot earlier. Only got the last ten minutes in place of Soldado.

Disappointing result we must up the tempo for our next league match away to Swansea on Sunday. Our next match is in the Europa league away to Besiktas.

Awful performance. Inexcusable. Why on earth did Lamela start again? Just as I though that poch had finally started to get through to the players, he displayed complete and utter tactical ineptitude today and the players, Lloris apart were woeful. Dier started the season so well but it is now looking truly lamentable.
Lamela is astoundingly poor. He sent pass, his shooting is more suited to American football or rugby and poor old kane is tryng so had he is starting to burn out.
We were lucky to get a point today and the whole Ekotto thing just further serves the fact that this cob, under the current regime is an absolute farce.

  5. Spurs are a joke!
So is our manager who I cannot stand for the dear life of me. Why does he insist on 4-2-3-1 instead of 4-4-2. Our strikers can't go it alone so why try? Another Stubborn fool at the helm of the club. Sherwood was sacked for the fool !? We're a joke

I arrive at The Lane all eager and hopeful every game. I know what I've seen all through this and last season. Then the ref blows the whistle and guess what...it's worse than ever.
We have only one player worth his weekly wage, perhaps two. Hugo was exceptional and Ben Davies worth his weekly wage....after them.....mmmm. JV and FF were okay, Eriksen a little behind them - you can take only a 20% cut to your wage this week. None of the others should get paid. They offered very, very little at best.
How can Lamela and Paulinho get in the ground, let alone in the squad, and as for playing them..ffs!!!
These two aforementioned individuals display exactly what is wrong with our beloved Tottenham. They were selected by a man - Franco Baldini - who along with Blofeld have just about ruined the club, by wasting money on the likes of Soldado, Lamela, Paulinho and others not even worthy of mention.
Paulinho was paid £75,000 this week. That's an insult to EVERY one of us that hold this club so close to our hearts. He is fecking, total shite. Yet when you need width and pace Pochetino puts him on ahead of Lennon.
As for our esteemed manager, does anyone share my view that tactically he is seriously lacking?
How can you start with Lamela, how......
Okay so we'll write this season off as being one of transition, but at least half of the squad are just not good enough.
As for the prospect of travelling to MK to watch this dross, forget it. I love you Tottenham, I do, but I'm losing patience now.....why pay a grand out of my pension to watch this...why....FFS!!!

Its less than a week ago when I thought we had turned the corner against Everton. There was lots of bite in the tackle, more ambition going forward, high pressing and exceptional workrate. Only for us to exhibit none of those traits today. Credit to palace, they came with a plan and we nearly served them with 3 points. Lloris had an aberration on wednesday, but saved us today no doubt. Eriksen needs to play in centre mid, and I think we need 2 wingers in January that can pass a player, pass the ball and cross.......oh and take corners. I wonder how much Robben would have cost, before we signed Lamela for 30 odd million?? We showed nothing today and were so lacklustre from the off. Teams must be lining up to play us because we are so predictable and slow. It takes me back to those dark AVB days. I suppose we will have to wait to play the arse before we pick our game up again and still probably lose. Never mind I will go back to work monday safe in the knowledge that our players will be having a nice rest before there next weekly 90 minutes!!!!!!! After that performance they should all get performance related pay, but the minimum wage would be too much. Keep the faith we will get top 4, win the europa league, and fa cup and messi will be our new saviour next season!!!! We'd probably turn him into a no goal a season also ran. COYS!

I am glad we did not lose. Eagles were a better side. Spurs looked tired and slow...

Bolasie & Zaha would both be welcome at Spurs, the pace and width they give palace is a major thing were lacking. Both can roast a FB have a trick or 2 in their locker but most importantly are direct and positive in their approach with the main aim of getting the ball in the danger area and commiting defenders.
Id gladly have these 2 over Lamela and Townsend any day of the week.

In a game like this which we need to score, and given Robbies hit rate and Kane's constant running ect he's going to tire, we need to have Ade on the bench Jaja or no Jaja? I mean if Kane or Soldado get injured early on who will lead the line? Furthermore we should have had Townsend in that squad. Here's the reason. If Dier is on the pitch at RB we have in essence 3 CB's on the pitch so we didn't need Kabul in this one. Then going back to the front two or wide men Townsend could easily play behind the front man in the middle (note his shooting ability) or on either flank. So for me my bench would look like this. (Also remembering Erkisen can play wide.)
    • 03 Rose
    • Townsend
    • 07 Lennon
    • 08 Paulinho
    • 13 Vorm
    • 22 Chadli
    • Adey
We should not overlook Townsend imo though i think the boss is giving game time to some of the players he wants to off load in Jan. But if Townsend does go it would be a mistake me thinks.
