I think that’s the point, it’s not about who’s right it’s about the constant requests to change the manager as soon as we lose. Our performances in the main have been very good and it’s only our finishing and the odd lapse in concentration that have really cost us.

To be fair to the players, Dragusin and Gray did well at CB, Spence was excellent and we did what we had to do given the non stop run of games every few days.

    Interesting stat

“Since the end of Sept, all 5 Spurs wins have been by a 3+ goal margin, and all 5 Spurs losses have been by a 1 goal margin.“

I think the two camps in this forum (Postecoglou-out and Postecoglou stalwarts) are both too extreme. The football under Mourinho and Conte was miserable. Have we forgotten what it was like to get outplayed by bottom sides and then either snatch a 1-0 win or lose 2-1 at the death. It was embarrassing to see us struggle to string together two passes, get pinned in on throw-ins etc. And Postecoglou has brought a much more entertaining brand of football and I so want him to succeed. But he NEEDs to be more flexible, have a plan B, and also we need to be more clinical. How many games this season have we started outstandingly well, created two or three quality chances, not put them away, then get scored on against the run of play, and have to fight against a team that sits back and plays on the counter. I think our high-energy, high-flying style is supposed to overwhelm teams, and it worked against Man City, Southampton, United, Villa. And we are great on the counter, often great in transition. But when teams sit back against us we look totally bereft of ideas. We need a top class winger who can change games, Son and Johnson are too bad at breaking teams down. Son has lost that bit of pace and quality. Still love him, but he's fading. We need to learn how to manage games, we need to learn how to eek out wins, we need to balance principals and realism. All of this needs to happen ASAP for Postecoglou to succeed. Also his passiveness on the sidelines is getting really frustrating. Anyone watch Amorim or Klopp or Pep (before now), they're constantly barking at players, coaching. Maybe the players didn't hear but I think that extra bit of energy helps. I hate seeing him shaking his head, hands in pocket, not yelling, not coaching. We need some new signings, cover for our wingbacks. We need to sell Dragusin ASAP, he was a bad signing. Not even close to good enough on the ball for this side. We need a better 6, Bissouma hasn't been good enough and is better in a double pivot. And we need a game-changing winger who can make things happen.

    Yes

We’re 2nd in goals … 3rd in goal difference … and our numbers are pretty much the same as the team 2nd on the table

Considering our limited outlay and the team is constantly beat up … and we have to play a game every 3 days … it is quite the miracle … but then again only 3 points separate 5th and 13th … it has been quite the strange season as you say

Yet there is a mystifying section of the fan base who want to sack the manager … and for what? because they’ve seen too many episodes of Neighbours?

We started two 18 year olds the other night … the team needs strengthening and the manager needs support

Good post. I think sometimes the obstinacy of one side can make the other side double down too much o their pov’s (I’m probably a little guilty of that). Preed, who has gone quiet ( hope he is ok) is another example, he writes considered opinions often but seems to be getting dragged into being too extreme with his views, imo!
Shame we haven’t seen what odobert can do on the wing , Werner (a top German international) on paper is supposed to be good enough but just isn’t.
Bissouma started so promising and seems to have faded again! Not sure Dragusin has been given enough time yet, he is generally playing in a weakened back 5 but I do agree I worry when a ball gets pinged to him at speed with opponents close by

Fingers crossed it all comes together for us against Utd!

It’s just common sense to be honest … being asked to defend the manager every week is absolutely tedious

The club decided on a project … with one eye clearly on the future … the outlay is criminally middling … and our squad is presently stretched to the limit … but hey we need to sack the manager again!

Many good good managers have won absolutely nothing here … but if Ange joins them in that sense it will be because he’s been completely out of his depth? Like you better win a trophy Ange or your the worst manager there ever was?

Lol … surely you can see the absurdity. This is the weakest Spurs squad in many a year. Results haven’t necessarily flowed to be sure but it’s a miracle of sorts we’ve produced the numbers we have. Good managers.

I have not posted because my internet had gone down for 3 days.i have always said I will praise when it is deserved and we were good against Southampton but they really are the worst side I have seen.Maddison was good as was a certain full back who never gets a game,When Porro came on mistakes happened.I still want to see goals from Solanke to add to his work rate.Thursday will be a test against a rejuvenated United. If we lose then all the doubts will come back

Glad it was only an internet issue.
Be interesting to see if Spence plays tonight, rumours of Porro to Spain seem quite consistent and if true then would be good to see spense a few more games t see how he performs against better opponents

As you are aware I am much more on the keep Ang and I really like that we have a free flowing team again. But it’s good to have conflicting views, so although I don’t agree with preed, comments like “yawn” aren’t going to help make this forum better

Let’s hope we have a repeat performance tonight like last time we played them

Let others have opinions that don’t agree with yours without the snide comments. You can’t help yourself can you

I’m always happy to read your opinion Uncle O’Hara … but if you’re always going to be like a broken record … then what is the point?

A good performance with you always comes with a ‘but’ … a draw or loss and you want to sack the manager … this has been going on for years … no matter who is in charge

We all hate Levy … a good businessman for sure … but equally a dreadful football chairman … give the manager a break okay? we will know for sure next season whether he is up to the task

The bloke .., and God bless him … he keeps this forum afloat … is always calling for the manager’s head … as if Eddie Howe or Thomas Frank will be the panacea to what has ailed us these last 20 odd years? Seriously?

Far better managers have come and gone here … and we have a better manager right now … and he’s all in on Spurs … he deserves all our support … because my guess at present is that this club is going to break him … like it’s broken every other manager before him

I’m in the upside down world. I’m going to have to continue to defend preed!
Yes he is too negative for my liking, yes he is quick to say the wheels are off and not see it as a long term project.
But.. he is passionate and generally respectful so we should be likewise

btw- Angelos, what were your previous usernames?

You may be right about breaking him but don’t put that on me .That is Levy and the weak supporters who willing pay the highest ticket prices without complaint. When do they ever show their disgust and show Levy the answer never.Other clubs supporters would’ be demonstrating,I don’t think I have suggested Howe or Frank and I suspect neither would want to answer to Levy

How long have you been here? I don’t recall you when I first visited this thread many years ago

Well support the manager then … because you know Levy is just looking for an excuse to pass the blame

You stick it to him more than anyone don’t you think?

As for my previous usernames … how long have you been here? I don’t recall you from the beginning
