Give us a chance Preed, we are not all sitting at home waiting for your next post keyboards at the ready :)

I’ll answer. Yes I think we can. What? A cup maybe. I agree to go for the title the defence needs to tighten up but to be honest I think it maybe more that we need that 1 player in there that holds the backbone together. A sort of Roy Keane type personality. that’s why
I wanted to keep Hojbjerg, I thought he was perfect to bring in on those games to Tay me steady the ship and give everyone a kick up the backside or a a calming voice

I expected one rose coloured.we need more than Hojbjerg to add backbone.letshope city play their reserves in the next round of the cup although we will probably make 10 changes.

Well that was a strange one. Let’s be honest, if Werner had an ounce of quality or composure, we would have been way out of sight by half time. The very first thing we need to do in January is sign Mitoma and send Werner back.

The next thing we need to do in January is sign a LB. Udogie needs way more time to become the world class LB he has the ability to be and the pressure and expectations on him after one season are too high for him to sustain week in and week out.

Romero is not a world class CB in the premier league, he needs to be moved to become the holding midfielder we desperately need. We could then give Radu a run with VDV (who we will be lucky to keep based on his current wage, our performances and just how good he usually is). Romeros aggression and calmness on the ball make him perfect for DFM. His lack of communication, aerial domination and overall leadership make him an average CB at best in the league.

Udogie is a strange one. He started last season on fire and looked to be amazing. But his attacking seems to have dropped off. Maybe it was down to combining with son on the left , hope he gets back to what he was although spence has potential

I have always thought Romero is worth a try in defensive midfield but don’t expect it to even be tried as this is way out of the box thinking for Ange.At least he won’t cost us a goal nearly every game

Monday morning and the feeling of absolute disgust with the spineless performance is still there.Just seen Ange press conference and he looks a beaten man.Been told that spurs have lost from 2 up 10 times which is a record.Laughable statistics. How we change this I am at a loss.we have had world class managers (not Ange) and have destroyed their reputations. We have bought better players this year and the virus continues. When recruiting do we look at players to see if they quit when the going gets tough because we seem to be forever questioning this.I have said that we won’t compete for honours under Ange and nothing I have seen will change my mind.Yes we have spells when we look fabulous then we revert to slapdash. At no time does Ange see the trouble raising its head and adjust his tactics accordingly .Yesterday he gives a seventeen year old 5 minutes for what purpose and still persists with Verner and even praises him .The player is a disaster in finishing and yesterday he could not pass to Johnson to score when a 10 year old would have done better.Maybe we are destined to be a joke while Enic are in charge who knows I personally am sick to death of the acceptance of supporters who think that the occasional bit of attacking football is all they want.We need a manager in the mould of Klopp who won’t put up with the non performances which have now been going on for a whole year in which our form has been bottom six .Ignore the 10match start we had when we played no one of note and we are worse than under Ramos and he was sacked very quickly.

    What did anyone expect?

Ange is a complete novice at this level

He also accepted a **** window from the puppeteer Dr Bald Aids

Fans gassing up beating fodder and farmers again whilst we get turned over by any half decent side.

Spurs are still going absolutely nowhere.

And Romero & Udogie aren't what Spurs fans big them up to be.

Romero is on par with Fazio & Chiriches for being a terrible defender.

That was a remarkable game yesterday and a very bad loss given how dominant we were first half but as you allude we’ve seen it all before. Didn’t Jose give up a 3 goal lead against West Ham at home in the last 10 minutes? Didn’t Conte give up a 2 goal lead late against Southampton which caused him to famously combust?

Tactics has nothing to do with it. Team stopped playing and the defending became circus like. Udogie culpable for all 3 goals … haven’t seen that before … even van de Ven lost his composure. Very strange. Not sure if it was fatigue or complacency but Brighton are no better than an average side. Don’t quite understand how you can dominate at Old Trafford one week and then completely capitulate at Brighton the next.

Top 4 is going to be a struggle but cups are still very much up for grabs. It’s a long season.

Just an aside .Ii turned on talk sport to hear what Jamie had to say and had to listen to the biggest numb nuts in broadcasting Jason Cundy. How does this uncouth prick get a job on radio

I think the big man can win something here if he doesn’t combust beforehand … too many efforts like yesterday and that becomes a big if

Why listen to those nongs? I have some respect for O’Hara for putting on the shirt but him and his buddy are paid to be shock jocks.

Have a listen to Expressions Oozing on YouTube if you’re ever feeling gutted after a loss. The guy is absolutely hilarious and as tragic a Spurs fan you will ever find.

Sorry but I think you are clutching at straws if you think we will win under this man.Best chance caribo cup but he will put out 10 changes. When it gets to the later stages of cups teams play stronger squads and you know how many times we have beaten top sides under Ange .Very few

Who qualifies as a top side these days? we’ve beaten Liverpool, United, and Villa I recall … and beat up Newcastle and Arsenal everywhere except on the scoreboard.

I respectfully disagree with you. The man in charge currently gives us a better chance of a trophy than anyone else. Put Jose in charge of this team and it would be f*cking dire … performance wise and results.

We have beaten City in the past. But to quote the Liverpool result when they had nine men is stretching it a bit.United are not a top side anymore and losing to Arsenal regularly and winning one game against Newcastle does not raise hopes. The same Newcastle who put Six past us last year and this year have had many injuries. We did produce a good win against Villa having lost to them at home. Most sides can point to a win over a top side occaisionally but we don’t do it when it matters and you can make stats look good if you want to.I am amazed that a man with such a one eyed and may I say it arrogant opinion of his own ability is fooling so many fans.Ange comes over as a nice man but no manager has won regularly when they only have one way of playing.Have you seen Real Madrid adjust there style to beat City .This is because they have a man in charge who knows how to win games(ANCELLOTI)I sincerely hope I am wrong and will bow down if I am but I don’t hold out much hopeApart from his lack of tactical nous his team selections are strange when a buffoon like Verner plays regularly and he lacks courage to bring in a defensive coach and admitting he was wrong. Why doesRomero look so bad when he is usually brilliant for Argentina.I believe the style which is so exciting at times is the cause because the high line is so easy to break Without van de vens pace we would be undone a lot more and even he caught the disease against Brighton

Okay let’s try and clear this up once and for all. The tactics we play are extremely similar to what City and Liverpool (the only teams to win the EPL in many a year) play. I can’t say they’re exactly the same … I’m sure there are some personal nuances … but the principle is very much the same … high line … full press … attack when in possession.

Now to succeed with this you have to control the ball because playing high is naturally going to expose you at times. So trite as it sounds the best defence is not to give the ball away. This was exactly the case with Pep’s Barcelona … where they had the least imposing backline in football history. It wasn’t a problem at all for them because they rarely gave up possession.

There is no naivety in what we’re doing. It’s the exact opposite … it’s extremely brave … particularly when we don’t exactly have the cattle yet. You can ask for a more pragmatic tactical approach, but honestly, it is not going to improve any results with our current talent. We’ve all seen it all before.

To dare is to do as they say … you’re not going to find another manager who embodies that better. You gotta back him mate and hope he can assemble enough talent to do something of note here. There is nothing else left for the club.

I see your point but the teams you mention had players who did not give the ball away on a consistent basis and all 3+had a ball winner of class we don’t and we won’t have unless levy changes his way and pays wages to match these teams. So we have to do the best with what Levy provides and that means having another string to our bow.All teams would like to play like Barcelona but can’t because they don’t have the players so they adjust to their cloth as the Gooners who have the best dedence in Europe probably and this gives their front players freedomq

Interesting point … does a manager change his tactics to suit his players or buy players that suit his tactics? I think most top managers fall into the second category

Playing in our fashion doesn’t require the world’s greatest players but it does require a mindset/energy which the players completely lacked after half time against Brighton. You simply can’t play a high line and stand off the ball/lose every duel. If you want to blame Ange, blame him for not shaking the side up sooner … the tactics themselves are fine and I actually look forward to watching us play every week.
