Hi VOR, thanks for post. Will of course continue posting and debating :)
For me trophies are more important than top 4 finishes. Not always, but currently

    I would take a trophy over a top4 finish.......always

Top4 & CL is just about money.

How can a team who finish 4th in the PL potentionally be crowned Champions of Europe....

  3. The Conte Guest

Well we are a long way from the top 4 now so it is no longer a realistic goal

It may seem like just a handful of points in the end but we blew it big time this year

Next season Chelsea will return and Newcastle will only get stronger again… we on the other hand grow weaker

I don’t envy our next manager… but he better be very good… otherwise things could get very ugly around here

  4. The Conte Guest

So Poch is taking over Chelsea?

I guess that’s fair… we’ve hired so many of their retreads it’s about time they hired one of ours

I think he will do very well there… they’ve got a lot of good young players and that’s his speciality

Meanwhile at Spurs the best man for the job has pulled out… or we don’t want to pay the compensation… both equally likely

Leaves us with Rodgers or Potter… or perhaps someone unproven from overseas… hardly exciting

Still could be worse… certainly don’t want Mason… that would be an absolute disaster… not interested in De Zerbi either

We are in for a world of pain I feel. Scott Munn (whoever he is) is joining in a role that isn’t quite clear soon and has zero experience that seems to add any value to the role he has been given. We are still hunting a DOF but what does that mean given Munn starting? Anyone who is any good won’t want the job as what power will they have with both Munn and Levy to report to? Then there is the farcical manager search….anyone apppointed soon won’t have been appointed by Munn or the new DOF. If we wait, anyone good will be gone. All seems like a big, disorganised, joke with no plan to link the 3 roles together and no vision at all from Levy other than looking for commercial success for club. We REALLY need to be bought by the Qataris or someone else with deep pockets and a disregard for money or we will be the next Leicester City.

Given that Levy met with the Qataris before the Man Utd biding kicked off, it would also seem that Levy is too egotistical to think of selling so any hope we have of a major investment of that type is about as far away as our chances of winning the league or CL. Optimism is draining away day by day for things to get better…it’s like we are the sporting version of Dele Alli

I hope Mason drops the dead donkey that is 343
Bissouma Hojberg and Danjuma to start, 352 or a variant thereof

Don’t hold your breath Mason has already had 4 chances to change and has not done it .He will stick with current style until he is removed.Make it soon

    Lol

Only two games to go thank God!

And then we can put this dreadfully disappointing football season in the history books

    It will be a relief

  10. The Conte Guest

Alli is symptomatic of what ails this football club… and thus one might say he is a proper Spur

A bit like Bentley I suppose

As I might of mentioned I read awhile ago that while Levy is open to investment he’s not interested in departing the club himself

So you can imagine that limits the options of those who might wish to invest in the club

  11. THFC Guest

Sums him up I guess, it’s like trying to sell your car but telling the buyers you still want to use it.

I am grateful where Enic have taken us in terms of investments into facilities but the price we have paid is investment into the playing side.

They have made us a sellable brand, they just really need to take their profits and sell us now before the brand nosedives and we become uninteresting for potential buyers. We are approaching that now so the change needs to happen as soon as possible. I’m just hoping the United bid is won by Radcliffe and the Qataris come back determined.

    Lol… good analogy!

I’m with you… we desperately need a fresh start… this ownership has taken us as far as it can as a football club

Mason has intimated that he would like to take the managers job permantly and has suggested in a round about way that experience is not every thing and quotes what has happened with Company and Carrick. These two players were premier stand out players who played with intelligence and were influential in their playing days while Mason was average to say the least

Mason hasnt had the chance to start Bissouma before, so maybe he will be a starter v Bees.
I'm conflicted about Danjuma, I want to see him start a Prem game, but three managers in his short time here have refused to start him. So maybe I'm overrating him, clutching at straws etc

See the latest rumour spurs are after the Wolves manager and director of football.I have lost count of the managers who are favourite for the job.Surely Levy must act now because the fans are getting more and more frustrated with this indecision.I understand that if he wants a manager who is employed at present it is difficult to approach them but unless an agent has has worked his magic how can we be sure that that particular man wants the job.I believe Nagleman turned us down and Levy has bull sh**** that we were not interested.Oliver holts piece in the Mail on Sunday completely sums up this club and Levy

    and there is the problem......
the ownership doesn't care about us as a football club...... we are a stadium business to them (of which football ticket sales is one)

  17. The Conte Guest

Yes good article and 100% on point... Holt has always written well

Spurs stating publicly that they'd dropped their interest in Nagelsmann immediately seemed disingenuous when I read the news... a last feeble cry for legitimacy from a club that is sinking into a mire of irrelevance like so much inescapable quicksand

Declaring no desire to bring the quirky German here says but one thing... the club no longer has any ambition whatsoever to be elite

  18. The Conte Guest

To be perfectly fair that has not been entirely true... bringing Conte and Paratici here was a concerted effort to put together a very good football team... but now that has completely fallen apart... and certain key players have reached their end... ownership indeed does not have the model... or inclination I would suggest... to do what is required to turn it around

To be honest... ENIC achieved its peak football wise 6 or 7 years years ago... and with the club's greatest goalscorer in tow... and even if they hold Kane against his will for one more year... or for some ungodly reason he decides to extend with us... that era is officially over... we're on the other slippery side of the slope now

It's interesting whether Spurs will still be part of the Big Six next season. Or will it be a Super Seven?
If Toon go straight in as Big Six, how does that work out? Not ever present in Prem, last trophy over 50 years ago, less Prem points than Spurs and Everton.
Maybe we should go back to talking about the Big Five, but with City and Chelsea replacing Spurs and Everton
