Don’t know if Forest did us a favour by beating Brightonas that means we will still have a chance of finishing 7th and the nightmare Conference cup.

I would love it if we won it. If West Ham win it they will rightly celebrate long and hard, their first major trophy for over years.
In truth though, we won't win it if we're in it. So might as well finish 8th as 7th and cut out the clown exit we would surely make

Looking forward to our next game as always. Maybe Mason can lead us to a win, here's hoping.
Hope Lenglet, Davies, Danjuma and Richie start in a 3 5 2

As a Swiss, I have a deep admiration for Akanji but also for the person who poached him from Dortmund to transfer him to City for only 15 Million £! This season, he did not even have to play or little. In the end, he is an indisputable starter. He plays every game and since he is excellent, when he is a central back, Guardiola places him at right-back and now left-back. Result, Saka did not see the ball last night! Paratici only had eyes for the south (Italy, Spain, Portugal) but Germany is full of quality players with an excellent fighting spirit.
Another thing, if you are a little interested in Nagelsmann's philosophy when he was at Hoffenheim and Leipzig, with his staff, they were always looking for players with footballing qualities but also (and above all) mental qualities. Serious guys, who fight and who have everything to prove. Hiring him at Spurs would be a 100% turnaround because Mourinho and Conte mainly wanted experienced players. A current Dier, Kulu or Son would no longer play! The spirit is as important as the technical qualities that many players have at this level... But the head, the spirit is difficult to modify and improve. So we might as well surround ourselves with real warriors than with the vast majority that we currently have.

Good comments Geneva, hope we get Nagelsmann. But if Mason can get us 5th, he might be the answer too. He loves the club and I think he could work well with Levy and a DOF. Yes, I want ENIC out but they're going nowhere for the foreseeable so need a manager who can work ewithin their remit.
What that remit is seems to change with the weather, but to me we should go back to looking for bargains
The amount of expensive Carlos kick a balls we've bought recently would have given Sugar nightmares. One expensive flop after another, let's go back to the days when we bought cheap, sold dear and still finished top 6.

First job done for Mason .Pick the same failures and same set up.Why not Davies instead of Peresic.Son again gets a pass.we really are short of any quality

Second half was much better. Don’t know if that was down to a good team talk or what but they all looked like they were playing for the jersey at last

    agree much better second half.
at last looked like we wanted to go forwards as a team.... rather than pass backwards

Much better second half but don’t be fooled. At last the players I think were playing for their futures. We showed character but my oh my Dier is a total waster .How can Levy think about giving this joke of a player a new contract. To be perfectly honest United helped us by their subs and sitting back so I am not getting to excited until we get a result at Anfield.Midfield still non existence worth trying Porro there. Please don’t think of pushing Mason for the big job because he ain’t ready. We improved in second half because Kane woke up

Good start from Mason, and great to see the Son Kane combo work again
    Important that Davies is back
Once Emerson is back we have a chance to get a Prem level defence again, though obviously not top 4 level
In the meantime need to work out how to play Porro and still look like a Prem defence
Good luck to Ryan on that one, otherwise Anfield might be the killing fields all over again
Vital that Forster stays in goal

    Interesting words from Ten Hag...
"when you are playing for Manchester United you have to give everything on every occasion"

probably why he has changed them.

Our players need to be told the very same thing when they put the shirt on represent our club.
just turning up is not enough. every playing has to give everything. every player has to want to attack as a team and defend as a team.

Porro is obviously talented going forward but a liability in defence so may be we should use him like Klopp is using Trent Alexander in a free role.Unfortunately we don’t have people with thattype of imagination

I see rumours that Levy has told Kane that he will be asked for his say on who the next manager will be as part of negotiations for him to stay.Hope this is rumour only because no player should be allowed that .Don’t have much faith in Levy but grow a pair and make your own decisions .If you can’t then resign from the job

Wonder if Mason can solve the Porro question. Hopefully Davies is back to shore up the left side, but how dovwe defend on the right

You’re hanging on Davies’ return? Don’t get me wrong… he’s a good earnest lad

But we will never anything with that mindset

This has been the problem all along… we need quality players!

And not just one or two… but half a dozen at once thanks

Apparently Poch is pissed off we didn’t contact him… so says one of his confidantes

Fair enough… he will smash it with that current Chelsea squad… and I’m not sure you can ever go home to do better than before

But he did say he could never manage Barcelona after his time with Espanyol… obviously doesn’t feel remotely the same loyalty to Spurs

I really rate Davies, hes probably our best defender and definitely our best LWB so I'm absolutely hanging on him coming back
Since he went off at Soton our defence has crumbled time and again
Of course he cant solve all our problems but him and Emerson give us solidity left and right, need a couple of new CBs and we will start to look like a Prem defence again
