If the talent’s not there the talent’s not there… it’s not through lack of opportunity

Bad recruitment or bad coaching .You telling me that the London area does not have talent in abundance if you know what you are looking for.I believe that Chelsea had about 20 youngsters out on loan

  3. The Conte Guest

It’s somewhat a combination of both… but talent is essentially king at youth level

Seems to be a sticking point on this website and I’m not sure why

A great manager can do wonders for a team… he can change the entire mentality of every player… and at the high end mentality is king… this is obvious in every pro sport across the world

But talent also has its own ceiling… a great manager is never going to win the league with the under 21s

What’s the difference a great manager can make? Hard to quantify but maybe 10-15 or 20% for the very very best

Might not seem much but that’s quite significant at the pointy end of the table if everyone is playing by the rules

We will desperately need a great manager next year… or we’re ****ed

I have said it before that we should as a club be interested in having a strong youth as City Chelsea arsenal have as it is the future of the club.I personally also like to see the women’s game getting better but spurs are as shambolic in this area as well.probably most of this website could not care about the youth or the women’s team which is so shortsighted.Newcastle women are in the fourth tier but the owners know it’s important and have recruited lots of young players and they had28000 at their game yesterday at st James park Progressive thinking.

No I don’t care about women’s football at all… and that’s no sleight to women… women’s football is just not a good watch

Again… just being objective… some women’s sports are better than men’s… women’s tennis for example is a better watch than men’s… women’s basketball possibly as well

You are shortsighted if you think womens football is not worth watching because most of it is more entertaining than the bull**** we have had to endure this year.Suggest you watch some European games with Lyon Barcelona versus Chelsea and City and arsenal you may get to like it.They will never be as physical as the men but are certainly not boring. How about the youths or is that not worth watching either.Sums up the could not care attitude in theclub

Just seen an article suggesting that spurs are talking to Barcelona about buying Lenglet permantly. What with a 3 year extension for Dier this is suicide and what about a new manager not wanting them,.soon it will be Winks given 10 year contact. What a comedianic way to run a club

I’m all for developing the women’s game but it is not close to the level of the men’s equivalent. Forget the physicality but if our men’s team played out ladies, despite how shite our men’s team are, they would hammer them.

Women’s football is a decent watch but it’s a lot slower and littered with mistakes that has similarities to National League level at best that is still developing/improving.

It would be nice for the women’s team to be doing well but I can’t see them getting 60,000 each week cheering them on irrespective of how good they are at this stage.

It would be a far better football world if we stopped paying players the money they currently get and had equal pay across the teams. People used to play football because they loved it and could be paid to do the best job in the world. Now they play for the lifestyle which is why so many are ****, useless, lazy wankers when they make it. We have so many Dele Alli type players in our squad who all need to start listening to the managers that come and go, follow the instructions that they are given and actually fight for results. Instead they earning millions so just don’t care and are more worried about their instagram accounts and cars.

Football would be way better having the women and men training and playing together and having salaries reduced to reasonable amounts, far more equally spread, with the savings made from the ridiculous wages used towards youth players to give them longer to develop and a salary they can actually survive on rather than the tiny amount they get on the hope they may make it professionally.

If we extend Diers contract and sign Lenglet, we may as well give up watching football.

Can’t see the point in saying our men would thrash our ladies that would happen in most physical sports but you don’t stop watching tennis because of it .But having said that most of the women’s teams thrash ours.Hate to point it out but Englands women are more successful at football rugby and team golf so don’t knock it

  11. The Conte Guest

Don’t tell me what I should enjoy watching thanks… women’s football as a spectacle is slow and boring… the goalkeeping is terrible… men’s football isn’t much better half the time either

As I said… some women’s sports are simply better… many are equally just as good… football ain’t one of the them

  12. The Conte Guest

And no I’m not that interested in our youth teams either… why? because we don’t produce any great players… one every 10 years it seems

Why do I need to go watch all these lads who will only end up playing for Hull or Preston?

    Seriously

  13. The Conte Guest

    And that’s not arrogance

I’m well aware we may end up in the Championship soon the way this club is conducting itself

Conte you say you don’t like watching women’s football because it’s slow and boring and the goalkeeping is poor does that not ring a bell watching spurs play .As for the youth you miss the point I am making and that is that we should produce good young players considering our cachement area. Not caring is why Levy gets away with it .I would like to see a list of the youth coaches at other clubs

  15. The Conte Guest

There is nothing we can do about Levy mate until the bottom literally falls out of this club

That may well be coming soon… next season perhaps

As a Spurs man I certainly don’t wish to experience that total indignity

Maybe it is necessary… but that is not something I will enjoy

Strong rumour today that the bald idiot is going all out to sign Lenglet.he once again goes for the cheap option for some one who has been poor all season.who else will the idiot give contracts to before naming a manager.Which other top 6 side wouldlove to have Dier and Lenglet in their back line

Unfortunately spurs fans are too weak to do something like thatIf as I expect we finish 7th or 8th we will still see season tickets sold out quickly.Levy lives on this weakness

Good news at last the under17s have won the premier under 17 cup tonight beating Notts Forest.we we’re helped by Forest who had a man sent off in the first half and another with 15 mins left. But I watched it on spurs play and we deserved win and there were a couple of players who looked promising. They certainly play better than the under 21s
