Hold on PReed. Don’t be so touchy! I didn’t get that it was tongue-in-cheek, you can understand that, I’m sure, considering your normal tendency to look for a negative from a positive result.

You really don’t think any one should be critical which explains why Levy gets away with it year after year.My main criticism is not the results because they are better than the football we play.My main moan after over 60 years supporting spurs is the non entertaining rubbish served up.Win lose or draw we were mostly good to watch apart from the Graham years. The current top 3 plus Newcastle Brighton and Fulham are far easier to enjoy the style they play.Levy promised a return to the spurs way of playing then picks two Italian defensive managers.I am a life long spurs fan and nothing will ever change that but I want to be entertained. Is that too much for some people to understand

No, be critical but also be a supporter, the crux of that word is “support”.
I with you on the 60 years of supporting Spurs and agree we were always synonymous with flair. However we went through a long period when we were not spoken about in the fight for top 6 let alone top 4.
Not winning anything is truely gutting but we are now a genuine top 4 contender club and need that next step up. Conte was the hope to do that and it hasn’t worked out so far although getting champions league last year was a huge result.
I find it very frustrating that some “supporters” always look for something to knock us down with. But hey each to his own, I see Sundays result as a good thing getting us maybe temporarily, maybe not back in top 4.

Levy promised a return to the club’s DNA… and then signed Nuno

    Don’t forget that

I’ve heard a number of different opinions about this on this website alone… particularly when Jose was the coach and our football was as archaic as it gets

You know what I’m talking about… that our history is a myth… and no one truly associated with Spurs gives a **** about how we play as long as we win

I completely disagree… the one thing that separates us from the riff raff is our sense of style

That is something ingrained in the club… that is who Spurs are… whether it manifests every season or not doesn’t change a thing

Of course we have to make do with less mostly… we don’t have Ginola on one wing and Bale on the other every year… but that is the club’s DNA no doubt and that should never change

Otherwise we’re just like everyone else

I am a supporter and always have been but I also remember what it’s like to win something. At the moment we seem to take top four as an honour.Still it could be worse we could be Chelsea although we will probably play them into form on sunday

One thing I have noticed that after rave reviews for Spence after his first game in France his next two games have only brought criticism about his defending so maybe Conte was right to leave him out and my estimation was optimistic

I hate to break it to you but top 4 is akin to winning a trophy these days… and more significant and practical in a number of ways

    As for Chelsea…

This game has danger written all over it… and no it wouldn’t surprise in the slightest to see us find a way to lose against another struggling side… have seen it so many times

So we need to step up… get nasty… no mercy… sink Chelsea for good

Spence is getting some good experience at the moment… he’s never played top flight before this season you know… and he’ll be 23 mid year

Whether he ever amounts to anything as a footballer is hard to say… he’s got some natural talent… I question his mentality… and I’m certainly not the first to do so

Very big game today lads… what is the thinking?

Are we going to squander another one at home or are we going to stick it to these pricks?

I have no idea but my bet is Romero gets a yellow. These are normally feisty affairs , if we could break the trend and play well first half, that would be nice!

This doesn’t help my bet! lol

Tottenham to win or draw… if we lose I’ll be ropable

Of course with us you can rarely be certain which side will turn up... but I never bet against Spurs

    Consider it a speculator

Very good game today from the whole team. Apart from Kulu, all the players were good to very good overall. Even if Romero needs to be more focused he is a magnificent defender. A 2nd like him next season and the defensive problems will be solved

Always next season isn't it? Why didn't we sign the required CB last summer or in the transfer window just gone? The answer is Daniel Levy and ENIC. When will you learn that the required signings will never happen under this ownership?

I have taken a lot of stick for being negative but I can praise when earned and today was our best all round display this season.Kulu seems to have lost a bit though.Richarlison still needs a goal but you can’t fault his work rate.Skipp is growing in confidence. Is it a coincidence that Conte was not on touch line??

thought we played well today. even Kulu. okay he was below his usual but he put a decent shift in I thought.

Skipp had a good game......nice goal.....but with Hojbjerg...... they need to look forwards before they decide on a square pass. feed our forwards quickly thats when we play well

Forster not much to do but what he did he looked safe.
And he is a big unit when forwards look at the goal.

Ref had a shocker before half time.
looked like he got his card out to give a yellow. then didn't. then gave a red. then turned the red to a yellow and forgot why he initially got his yellow out.
If a push in the face wasn't a red and it was a yellow....surely it was another yellow for the initial foul...... so still a red

just on Chelsea.....they have completely lost their attacking movement. shocking...... but funny

    So good today

    So aggressive…so combative

Skippy is my new favourite player… lol

We tried… Inter didn’t want to sell him… so we brought in a guy from Barcelona instead… he’s pretty decent

Guys like Romero don’t just grow on trees… he’s an A list defender in world football… World Cup champion… South American Cup champion… Serie A defender of the year before he joined us

He was a brilliant acquisition… I still laugh when I think of that ***** Stevie Nicol saying we paid 20 mill too much for him… at 45 mill he was an absolute steal

  19. The Conte Guest

It may appear that way… but the players love Conte… and he remains very much involved

I reckon it’s more than that. I think tactics have been tweaked a bit and may not have been done so if Conte was still in the dugout. Hopefully he is big enough to accept it when he is back. I do t think he would have rested Son for 2 games
