He has done a very good job to this point but his tenure at the club is at a crossroads after the past week. I would think the next month is critical.

If there is no significant upswing on or off the pitch, he will walk... or give the club no choice but to sack him since he won't be renewing.

People bizarrely calling for his head seem to forget how difficult it was (and how long it took) to just find a replacement for Jose. We unbelievably settled on Nuno in the end who is now coaching in Saudi Arabia. Conte won't be going to Saudi Arabia when he leaves us.

Then again if he does go perhaps we can attract another Chelsea retread in Tuchel. Great coach but not one to put up with meddling stingy owners. You can imagine how that will play out here.

 

as I mentioned..... there is no point bringing in Tuchel or any other top coach.....as ENIC won't back them with player wages.
If we do bring one in it will go the same way as JM & AC

sadly we will have to make do with a lower level coach who buys wisely (cheaply) and builds a 'team' of lesser players

Levy won't cripple the club with high wages.
We probably already have more high wages than he really cares to spend

 

I don’t disagree that this has been the case for a very long time but why exactly did Conte and Paratici come here if nothing was going to change?

A top class coach who voluntarily left the Italian champions because they weren’t going to strengthen is happy to come to Spurs? I’m sure he understood we’re not exactly Real Madrid beforehand so you think he was lied to?

Now is not the time to change tact… or give the club an excuse to revert to its old ways.

 

Why don’t we have any prospects,As I have stared our under 21sare bottom of their competition.Is this bad coaching or is it good youngsters don’t want to join spurs.Sessengon was one of the most promising youngsters in the league when at Fulham but spurs have reduced him to an average championship player.I am afraid that Skipps injuries have slowed him down as well and Conte does not seem to rate him.We signed according to most good judges one of the most promising full backs in the league but Conte has thrown his toys out of the pram because he did not sign him and seems quite happy to set his career backwards.Nobody really knows what he trains like but after the garbage we keep playing surely he deserves a chance

 

Anybody else see Contes press call today.Never heard such rubbish and he now says he is happy and did not say we need more players.He says he was misunderstood.Would it not be nice to have an honest answer just once.All clubs B******* and treat fans like idiots

 

we have no prospects as we favour big name managers who favour big name players

we never give youth a chance….much like Spence…
and Sess when we bought him. (he should have been given an immediate chance as he was at the top of his game)

any youth team players we don’t even play in the early rounds of the smallest cup….so they either leave (Edwards) or they fade away

 

I don’t rate Skipp that highly either… Sessegnon slightly more. Obviously I would like see them or any academy graduate excel but if the natural talent isn’t there then the ceiling is limited... wouldn’t matter how many games you gave them.

Our academy is not good. We don’t attract or bring in top prospects. There’s not much else to be said. If our first team is designed to blood these guys just so we can sell them then we’re never going to win anything.

Finally on Spence… I didn’t watch him like you did last year. But when he signed for us I watched and read and then listened to what he had to say. He’s got natural ability but I wasn’t that impressed with his attitude… Warnock said the same. Perhaps Conte’s hesitance to play him has something to do with that.

 

When did warnock make sense.just seen the Times article for tomorrow saying Conte has said he must accept a build or go.3 guesses how that ends

 

Of course it’s a build if we want to win the league… which is debatable. That’s what he’s been saying.

But that means the club needs to keep investing… and on good players. Not projects from the Championship.

 

Does anyone believe we will go and buy top class players.We are already being mentioned as bringing Edwards back to the club.Good player but not top premiership.we have shown interest in a full back from Portugal but levy won’t pay the money.We need to get rid of at least 8 but nobody will buy them.At least we are not Everton

 

We need homegrown players… that would be the motivation… probably was the same for Spence. Normally the good ones cost an arm and a leg

We can attract good players the likes of Bentancur and Kulu if they’ve fallen down the depth chart or their contracts are winding down… but I’ll be very surprised the day we spend 80 million on a player though

Rather important game today… we can’t seem to win at home lately so perhaps we can start winning on the road

 

Lose tonight and against the gooners and Conte is gone whether voluntary or pushed

 

Interesting comments on sky news tonight.Jamie Ohara had a rant which I think summed up how most of us feel.but he has supposedly has a call from the club saying they did not like his comments.Wake up and smell the roses Levy

 

Just seen the team Gill again??You can’t make it up.play an extra midfielder and leave son upfront.shows how weak our squad is.Gill is nowhere strong enough for the premiership as he showed against Villa.Stick Dier in midfield where he can’t do us damage

What has happened to our set pieces? There was a little period where Vio seemed to give us an edge and we threatened teams. We seem to have reverted to the Christian Eriksen school of set pieces for the past few games with nothing going above knee height and set pieces automatically leading to counter attacks.
Gil has demonstrated again today that despite his ability, he simply isn’t built for the premier league.

Sarr is going to be some player. Tall, quick, strong, composed and a very good footballer with a great touch and excellent simple passing.

 

Agreed that Sarr should start instead of Skipp .looks classy and can pass and tackle.great result but don’t be fooled .one swallow does not make a summer
