Let me try. Emerson is terrible, Doherty is equally as terrible. Conte is watching Spence every single day in training and thinks he is no better at the moment than Doherty or Emerson. Therefore, based on his experience and expectations of players to play to his game plan, Spence isn’t starting yet. Bissouma is in the same boat but has several years or experience on Spence which means if needs must, he is a safer bet to play when needed. Spence will play at some stage but if Conte doesn’t think he is ready to do the job he wants him to do, then he isn’t ready.

How do you know that Conte thinks Spence is no better than the rest has he confided in you.
Or is there a chance that he does not like the fact the club wanted him and he didnt

To answer your remark about confiding, you asked for someone to explain. You got an explanation however clearly it doesn’t align with your potential conspiracy theory.

Given how terrible the other two are, Spence, without any doubt, would be playing if Conte thought he was able to follow his instructions or was an upgrade on the others.

Do you genuinely believe that a professional coach, who’s position and reputation is built on success at any cost, would ignore a player because he didn’t choose him, especially when the alternatives are as bad as we have?

You still don’t tell me why he picks Emmerson who is universally rated as poor.If he had any invention he would try Moura as a wingbback.I don’t go with your conspiracy rubbish to justify your argument .I just don’t believe that Spence has gone so far back from last year and if he has then that is a black mark against our coaching staff.

Royal is benefiting from there being lots of games, not sure (hope he won’t) he will start this week

I like the Moura option and mentioned it over the summer. I think he did try it once, maybe he doesn’t do it on training in thT role, maybe he thinks he is a bit small or it maybe due to the injury he is coming back from

Have to agree about Spence with Mr Levy. Conte looks to be driven by winning and if he thinks spence would be better than the others I am sure he will use him. Regards to not choosing him, it’s real easy for him to say he wasn’t good enough but with Conte’s help and direction he has made him good enough

Anyone have any predictions on this juicy European fixture tonight?

As a long time Spurs fan you half expect us to bottle it. No Conte in the change room or dugout isn’t the best scenario either… although his record in the Champs League isn’t good so perhaps that’s a blessing in disguise

Will be quite an atmosphere in the stadium… can we play nasty as Conte has implored?

My prediction is that come 10.30pm Spurs fans will be arguing with each other on here

Why the first half is anyone's guess. we simply didn't play at all.
I wonder who said what in the dressing room at half time

Does any body have a clue as to why we are so bad in the first half of games .It must be under orders to sit back. .Why when we are so much better going forward,.Still think Moura is a waste as he gave the ball away time after time.Don’t know who will play against Liverpool as Son is probably out and we are desperate for Kulu or Richie to get fit.Thought Dier has gone back to his normal self defending by turning sideways with his arms behind his back and giving the ball away consistently.Lucky the next round comes after another transfer window

We respond to pressure! Our hearts can’t take these sort of last minute wins!

we were better in second half because Royal was on:)

Hasn’t been the prettiest of campaigns and in not the most difficult of groups but we’re through to the last 16 in Europe as we should be

Some cup like madness at the end, has to be said a great finish from Hojbjerg.
Injuries piling up but boy did we make a pigs ear of a relatively easy group.
I don't remember a Spurs side so utterly clueless and bereft of ideas as this current 1 but somehow pulls results out of the wreckage of their own car crash.
    It's bizarre, but we're through.

Yes Felon, with laughter! You are the gift that keeps on giving. What would we do without you?
