    Utd 1-6 Spurs
    Spurs 2-0 City

    Utd 0-0 City

    Spurs 6 points , Utd & City 1 point.

    But but but possession .......

I actually agree with some of what you say, J-G, certainly where equality of opinion is concerned; experience of actual matches over many years surely counts for more than distant fandom fed by TV and whim (liking the shirt, or taking a fancy to a particular player) - how many South Koreans will still be Spurs supporters when Sonny has moved on? Precious few, and there's nothing to compare with growing-up in a Spurs area surrounded by other Spurs fans - it's a gut thing, nothing to do with star players or pretty football, and it probably explains Arsenal's continued existence. I also agree about the need for humour, the problem with being sneering and patronising is that neither seems funny to the person on the receiving end.

What's Anita Ward got to do with Football anyway?

3 points today and we open up more space at the top, the scintillating Manchester Derby 0-0 draw and the 72% possession 1-0 loss by Chelsea yesterday has been rather favourable to us.

  4. Believe it or not Felon82 but I find you a humorous fellow

Certainly not the sharpest tool in the shed but definitely the one with the most gumption

    Bang on

Cheshuntboy lest there be any confusion... you're the smartest fellow here... bar none (there is some competition so no disrespect to anyone else). But yes your pathological pessimism need be contested at times. Rest assured it is conducted with humour... I would gladly share an ale and a laugh if you saw fit.

Must admit today we were rubbish although both goals were goalkeeper error.Jose can’t allow for the piss poor passing from our players although he should have subbed earlier.Son having one of his non existent days.We could do with an Ali of the old days to add some firepower.I would like to see a more dominating centre half who wins balls in air as a poor player like Benteke caused all sorts of panic.Lloris makes horrendous error which he is still prone to after being excellent for weeks. The Mourino haters will be queuing up

Certain players need to take responsibility in these games, too much coasting, sloppy passing, needless fouling.
That's player responsibility not a tactic or instruction.
Kane Son & Bergwijn need to get on and hold the ball up some more when the tied is turning and the midfield needs to get up and support n actually learn how to pass move keep ball.
Lloris has a shocker for the equaliser, their keeper had a shocker for the 1st goal and then went on to make 3 world class saves.
Not a great result but not a terrible 1 either.

Conceding on a set piece is something seen before. Lloris might have done better.
Reg seems to do what Rose tended to do, going central instead of going wide and thereby running into traffic.
Sissoko has improved a lot in this past year, he's much better at receiving the ball and at passing the ball. Still I think that to dominate possession then Sissoko has to improve more or a better option is needed.
Wasn't far off a win, to win a trophy then some luck is needed. Trophies aren't won in December but they can be lost in December. Challenges for trophies are still on.

Whilst we play like a team with a plan, play for each other, cover, work hard, you also need some stand-out performances to make the difference in tight games against a tricky side. Ndombele and Bergwijn lacking for me, Son quiet, Reggie needs to calm himself down at times and Lo Celso didn’t pick up where he left off on Thursday.....’oh and their keeper was MOTM.....and Hugo wasn’t...

After that first half I would take a point now.Our ball retenti9n is awful especiallyBergwin although he puts in a defensive shift.

Hard to take this loss. The effort was there and the chances were there to win it. Kane should have been subbed off, he looked knackered and Son would have been more of a threat. Bale couldn't play?

Not a single PL team goes to Anfield and attacks them.
We contained them well, we didn't dominate possession (again who does at Anfield?) But who creates and misses 3 sitters?
A draw would've been a fairer result imo, had we scored the sitters we'd of won comfortably.
But not to make excuses the defending from the corner was an absolute shambles, it's a point/points lost but no shame in who to n how.

Absolutely gutted .when will Rondon get a chance as he is commmanding in the air and we are so poor at corners. Two chances for Bergwin and a sitter for Kane could have changed the result but on the play we did not deserve to win.I do wish we would attack more but our passing especially from the back is so poor. Can’t believe united could win their games in hand and be above us

How many points have we thrown away in the last ten minutes this year.We keep giving awayfree kicks when we don’t need to because we don’t hold on to the ball.Liverpool players all look comfortable on the ball where we only have a couple who don’t give it away .we really need a class midfielder who can control the game dare I say like Fernandes

Losing concentration late in a match might indicate tiredness. The body might be in shape but the mind might not be right. Neither Vinicius nor Bale were on the bench, both might have helped. Bale for the threat on the counter which might have stopped Liverpool from pushing up so much, Vinicius might have been more alert in defending the corner.

Am hating the result, loving the effort.

Having 24% possession, 60% pass accuracy and 2 shots on target is fine if you pinch a win but terrible if you lose. We lost so as far as performance and result go, it was really poor and fan or not of JM, the game plan did not work and was terrible to watch.

Tiredness is not an excuse for not picking up a man from a corner in the 90th minute against a team that you are fighting for top spot with. It is poor defending that caused the goal and the performance simply wasn’t good enough to earn the points tonight.

Need to pick up and win the next game to get back on track and hope that Liverpool drop points elsewhere.

Would you have preferred a 4-0 drubbing that wolves got at Anfield the game before?

    Or perhaps Leicesters 3-0 drubbing?

Liverpool are unbeaten at home in 66 games, our last 6 games we have lost to them, 4 of those losses were 2-1 / 1-2.

I cannot believe we're at a point where every match if not a Win is unacceptable it's hysterical.

Liverpool wouldn't have missed the chances we did yesterday that was the overall difference we were just as good for the win as they were a draw would've been a fairer result.

If I have to lose then my preference is losing a close fought match. The worst kind of loss for me is the kind Spurs had against Bayern Munich. Trying for the win but in effect surrendering totally. Performance-wise then Spurs scored twice so maybe that was better? Not for me anyway.

Tiredness is a factor, tired players are not as sharp as they could be. If blame is to be assigned then I do not blame the players for being tired I blame the manager for having tired players on the field. Kane is rarely substituted, sometimes it is best for the team that he plays and sometimes it is best if he is taken off. Yesterday might have been a match where he should have been taken off instead of Son.
Next match might be a match where a sharp Kane is more needed than a rested Son.
