So having just caught up on the thread it seems there is much negativity, stress and doom around.

Sure I'm nervous like everybody is. Sure the Burnley loss was a car crash. You CANNOT lose those games, if you're going to lose to the top sides. Sure there are serious liabilities on the pitch, the full backs to name but 2. Sure Eriksen has got his head elsewhere. Sure he should be dropped, as it might just sting him into action.

But the real danger is that our negativity and disappointment actually is what the team might also be feeling, after all they can see what we can see. Perhaps Poch saying we did okay is a mind game issue, to avoid dragging them down even further.

So we were lucky to get a point, but we did, and when you look at the reactions of the players after the saves by Hugo The Terrible and Jan The Encroacher you can see they are fighting for this.

So what do we do for Tuesday. Drop Trippier, as he'll likely have Sancho on his wing, play 4 at the back, fill the midfield, look to nick a goal, leaving them to score 5.

I happen to feel we are well and truly weary, as Felon points out. As for the league, this season is indeed turning out to be unique. 4 teams with the opportunity to exceed 70 points for 3rd and 4th, that's rare. City took 4th place with 66 only a few years ago.

So I'll try not to stress for the lads, hope that they get a few lucky breaks and.......that we get to see them secure CL at The Lane against Everton. You never know, it's a funny old game.

I thought the same Bazza, the reactions of the players at certain moments in the game (the penalty save, etc) at least showed that they do understand/care about how important yesterday was. Hopefully it's a good indicator of the team spirit within the squad, in what is sure to be a tough end to the season.

I've been following the forum all throughout the season, and I'd have to agree with Felon with regard to the lack of signings at this point. As a squad, it looks painful short of fresh blood. We haven't signed anyone for more then a year, and even then that was only Moura (what I mean by that is, that was ONE signing, we weren't exactly bringing hordes of new talent before that). City and Chelsea are distorting the game sure, but the fact remains that they are constantly stockpiling talent, signing someone like Mahrez on a whim, in case of emergency.

Also, just been reading about Gareth Bale's Madrid dream turning sour. I'm not indulging in sour grapes when I say this but, what did you expect Gareth?
We've often heard it said how impossible it is to turn down Madrid when they come for managers/players...really? The snake-pit that is the Bernabeu, where the fans are all too happy to turn on players and managers?
I get that Bale will be able to point to his medals, and say 'look what I won' at the end of his career. But I think I'd rather have won nothing at Tottenham than win everything at Madrid, where they should surely hand out medals for narcissism every season.

Under the circumstances with the stadium and not signing quality players making top 4 imo will go down as a decent season.
I think 76pts or 5 wins will get 4th place and i think spurs will get 76-78pt.
The main problem is all spurs problems have been self inflicted the stadium, not signing players and the overall decline in the team.
I don't understand how 3 seasons of CL money doesn't translate into signing two quality players? or the fact that MP must know for his system to work he needs fast athletic full backs like the one he sold to man city. The midfield looked horrible surely tielemans on loan is better than rose in the middle the fact that dembele was on the wane and his replacement still hasn't been found says it all.
The team still lacks a bale type player i don't know if it is by design, however, it's something i think spurs should try to add next season.
The team has been neglected and it should be seen that way and not something to be proud of.

Why would bale want to play under Enic and win nothing? I don't blame Bale his name is forever written in Cl history with what he has done for RM. He scored over 100 goals even with the injuries the fans rate his abilities.

I went for 4 wins at home, 2 away, 18 points, 79 in total palmover....it's not as easy as imagining it, but I happen to believe that Top 4 and progressing past BD would be a good return, given the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune that the players and Poch have had to force there way past. Last 4 in CL the icing on the cake, but let's take one game at a time.....come on Poch let's do it Tuesday....

My prediction looking at what's left is both us and scum take 3rd & 4th with 78points each GD the decider, Utd 5th on 76points & Chavs 6th on 75points.

If we drop out of the top 4 from where we are/were then serious questions need to asked of the board & manager

Spurs should make last 8 of CL which is about right, don't see spurs going any further, however, some fans think spurs can win it. The same fans that think DL will give MP 50-100m to spend before selling anyone. Coys

Agreed that last 8 is where we should be but probably even that is punching slightly above our weight

However I have to disagree with the « some fans think we can win it »

Absolutely we « can »win it, it’s not likely but it’s not outside the realms of possibility. What’s the point of doing it , if you don’t think we can win it, however unlikely. Assuming (and that’s not a given) that we get passed BD then we have 3 teams to beat

Can we win it, absolutely , will we win it, highly unlikely but we have a better chance than hundreds of other teams ,Arsenal included

I have us down for 78 points also..
Nothing away at city n pool.
4 points from the next two games soton and Palace.
4 points from the games at home to west ham and Everton. The rest should be comfortable wins.
Two wins now on the spin puts us in a very good position with the small gap and goal diff we have.

I agree with MP. We were the better team, scam got refs on their side and the game was very much entertaining as a result. We could have lost, we could have won. Draw was a fare outcome, although Arsenal, unlike Spurs, have never looked like a side that may win it up until the wrong penalty against us.
Money earned in beating Dortmund will allow for 3 players acquisition, so it is important to finish the job well.
I am not looking at season end yet. Too many variables involved, stadium being the most influential. If lads will have trouble playing on new retractable pitch, we may not make top 4. Otherwise, we will get 80 points or close.

I have given a lot of criticism to this team this year and quite rightly but today I must hold up my hands and say this was an exceptional performance even Sanchez recovered from his shaky startPleasegive verts and aldy whatever money the require to keep them at the club as tonight they were immense.Probably the best I have seen from both full backs this year and. Lloris had one of those night So.Fancy Ajax Next???

Rode our luck 1st half , thought if we cud get to HT without conceding we'd be safe, 2nd half tho credit we turned in a mature professional performance.

Job done . Hairy enough first half . Not surprising all things considered but we got the job done . Scoring early second half was the killer blow and the tie was certainly done after that if not fully beforehand . All in all I thought we handled it fairly well given our recent troubles . Over the two legs tho , to come out of the tie 4-0 victors is nothing short of outstanding . All credit to all involved , it's been a difficult old season for lots of reasons but the lads just keep going no matter what's thrown at them ...

Defended like lions tonight. Weathered the storm for 35 mins then pretty comfortable.. Great finish from the big man. Great performances from lloris sissoko Jan Toby and aurier who needs a run in the team now.

At first spurs had to rely on some last ditch tackles and a few sharp saves from hugo. Once MP changed to 541, BD never looked like scoring. Moving Sisoko central gave spurs the muscle and power needed to slow down the BD attacks. Kane looked awful first half couldn't hold onto the ball and looks 20% of his best, however, fair dues he knows how to finish, that's what makes him a top goalscorer.

Still think spurs need a quality cm/dm and a pacey, skillful attacker the type that get you on the edge of yours seats like bale in his pomp.

RB is an area were spurs have to do something Serge makes me nervous, trippier just doesn't fit the bill and Kwp doesn't get played.

Foyth doesn't look like he will become a reliable CB makes too many mistakes. I would like to see him in DM, but Mp has never used him there so maybe he's not good enough, could he be any worse than rose in that position?

A truly awesome team performance, Hugo MOTM (rare indeed) and H, despite looking leggy at times, did what only he can do. 10 out of bleeding 10 from me.
