The actions of an obvious world wide renowned 'top operator'.

It's funny because I don't recall the clamour for Sissokos signature ever from the ignorant masses?

Why should we be greatful for what Levy has done.He hasn't done this for free I now hear his worth a billion pounds. ENIC are doing it for a juicy profit . Spurs net spend since 2011 is 26 million. It's a joke .ENIC are scammers we all should demand better for the prices they charge . LEVY IS A NUMPTY.

I take it all the abuse flying back and forth has been deleted. Damn good job - it's a supporters blog, not a school playground; we should be above this stuff lads.

  4. Exactly! If the manager doesn’t see an immediate fit or strong potential, don’t buy somebody who will only get in the way of our own upcoming youngsters. Oh, lest we forget the Bale Disaster.

    Like Sissoko Llorente Aurier.......

It's a huge part of Pochettinos job to be on the scout for improvements to his squad especially during transfer windows.
To do nothing would suggest he's completely satisfied with the personnel which would indicate to me that he is saying theyre good enough for silverware (despite evidence to the contrary), which a club of our size/resources/history and especially current position should be going for.
Else what are we paying for/supporting some buildings and a never ending project?

Terrible Article, Making Out levy and Poch Are Idiots. Very Anti Spurs. One Of The Most Progressive Clubs In The Prem. Who Ever Wrote This Must Be Blinded With Jealousy.

You're right, of course, but I have to say, in true playground style, 'they started it!' However deluded I consider them to be, I've never disputed that people who admire Levy or think that Pochettino is the bee's knees can still be genuine Spurs fans, but I've lost count of the number of times I've been dismissed as a closet gooner, or told to eff off and find another team because I disagree with them - their blind faith is apparently such a fragile thing that it can't tolerate contradiction, whereas I like a good row, but there you go.

Watched Premier league legends this morning featuring Sol Campbell.. Still remains one of my all time spurs favourites to which I know many will not agree nor understand. Gave his all for the club when he played and gave the club every opportunity to convince him to stay. He left as he said the club as a whole was never set up to win things and really little else had changed really. Still don't sign world class players and still let ours go. He agreed terms on a four year contract with a break out clause if the club didn't match his ambition with signings to which the club refused surprise surprise!
His mind was made up when we got beat at Old Trafford and he seen all his England team mates seal and celebrate the title. Sol got told to watch the celebrations to see what it means to which he replied I want to be in them celebrations not watching them. Thoughts on that please.

I have man-love for Poch and I respect Levy's business acumen. The fact we are having this debate and have expectation for the coming season is due to the way both of them have elevated us to a regular top 4 side. But to continue to dine at the top table we need recruit names that can almost immediately enhance the first team or at least challenge for a place in the first 11 if we want to remain there and not go back to pressing our noses up against the restaurant window looking in again!

Don't let me down DL/Poch. Martial and Grealish (changing my opinion of him) will do and you'll go up another notch on my admiration pole. (Ignore that last line! Sounds a bit perverse!!!) until January.

I 100% agree to continue to progress in the way we are signings need to be of the calibre/ability to challenge the first 11 immediately. Poch has persuaded DL to loosen the wage purse strings so we can keep the majority of top players and I think we have to credit both of them for that. I think we will make a couple of "effective" signings before the end of next week.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it took Fergi something like 6-7 seasons before he and Utd laid the foundations to go on to be the dominate force they were/are!

    COYS!

I don't blame Campbell in the slightest for wanting to leave in order to win something; I didn't blame Sheringham, Carr, Berbatov, Modric or Bale either, but it was the way he did it that sticks in my gullet; he lied and lied again about his intentions, deprived Spurs of the transfer fee a player of his calibre would have commanded, and then went to ARSENAL, as if to rub our noses in it! I guess the adoration of Ledley King is mostly a reaction to Campbell's exit, the slight matter of King's appalling injury record (which meant that no other club ever came in for him - is that 'loyalty'?) not seeming to enter into it, while Dembele too seems to be admired just for staying put (so far) - I wonder if Sissoko and Aurier will eventually be loved just because they saw out their contracts because no one else wanted them? Unlikely, but you never know.

Interesting Pochs latest comments on he doesn't know why signings are yet to be made and he's the wrong person to ask. Pretty much confirms what one or two of us stated yesterday that he's probably equally frustrated and gives a list of targets and the rest is down to levy n Co

With you again Cheshunt - though on the King subject, to keep the peace, I'll paraphrase Evelyn Hall: I might not agree with what you say, but I'll defend your right to say it.
Campbell (for me, he forfeits the right to a first name due to his appalling attitude and actions) seemed a completely different person to Ledley King; yes, he was magnificent for us - up to a point - but seemed a cold and aloof character, never a player that I could love in the way I loved Dave Mackay, Maurice Norman, Alan Gilzean, Mike England and many others from my early days. Ledley seemed likeable and approachable - maybe he wasn't, I don't know him obviously, but it's just the impression he gave me. Something tells me he wouldn't have done the same thing, but who knows. Sissoko & Aurier? Doesn't really matter if they stay or not - don't think too many will love them unless they start to perform relative to what they cost, and right sharpish.

It's a complete shambles, Pochettino shouldn't protect the boards Negligence with the smoke & mirrors routine.
Levy is again pushing all to their limits with his antics and if he's not careful he's gonna put Poch's nose out of joint.
At some point any top manager would have to question this approach as it's their own stock/reputation that suffers.

I'm confident that he won't, Antony. There just doesn't appear to be any dynamic at all: The Grealish thing looks to have stalled - Steve Bruce saying there hasn't even been a realistic offer to discuss, and now that Villa apparently have loadsamoney they're in no hurry to accept an offer that falls below what they'll consider worthy. Zaha seems to prefer Chelsea, and with them allegedly ready to throw £290k weekly at Kante, who wouldn't ? Any Martial scenario looks all tangled up with Alderweireld's case and Toby says he'll slum it 'til contract-out time next year as he wants to play for Mourinho. Well Toby, be careful what you wish for - that's assuming the unlikeable and ever-more dislikeable Mourinho even lasts that long.
Nobody else is even being talked about and whatever you think about the three I've mentioned, they look the only runners so far. Unless there's a Klinsmann type swoop, I see nothing ahead.

Call me deluded/naïve Mc but I need to believe we will recruit top quality before the end of next week because without it I also believe we will struggle to maintain our top 4 status. Surely (naïve/stupid?) Poch has had this conversation with DL and convinced him of the importance of strengthening! Therefore with 2-3 of the deadwood being let go (40 mill return?) and a deal being done with Utd, Toby = Martial we ain't talking multi-multi-millions from the coffers to bring in Martial (swap) Grealish (25m) and maybe Kondognia 45m. I cannot and do not want to believe that these deals or deals very similar won't be confirmed next week!

We will find out soon enough I guess!
