Looks more like Tactical Ineptness than Wembley Curse

    THE POCHETTINO OUTFIT(Edited)

First and foremost I love the fact Poch has turned us into a regular top four outfit.

I totally agree with the above comments Poch doesn't seem to know when and where to change things on the field of play. His tactics weren't so much wrong the personal, the selection, starting line up wasn't the right XL.

Levy is as much to blame with the way he thinks like a business man in the transfer market, he sucks the living daylights out of a deal, so much to the similarities of a negotiator in a hostage situation and the bank robbers, villains, Kidnappers, all give themselves up and lose the will to live, only for us find out there was no loot after all.

Going back to Poch and his outfit, watching him yesterday on the sidelines was like watching a lost schoolboy on his first day at primary, no friends, kicking his ankles and staring aimlessly at his shoe laces. With both Hands in pockets he cocks his head back takes a deep breath, gasps into the Wembley air and decides ill make a change at half time.

The tactic of keeping Sissoko on and playing him in his more "natural position" sticking him out wide so he can run into the open spaces and run the ball out of play, this guy runs the ball out of play that many times.I imagine it was like watching William Webb Ellis in 1823 for the first time, pick the ball up and run the ball over the goal line.

Maybe that is what Sissoko's natural position is running down the wing for the French national Rugby team because he certainly isn't a Footballer or maybe he sent his twin brother and he's Sipping on a bottle of Ciroc, enjoying life on his pumped up wage in a Malian strip joint. He certainly plays like he's just got in from the night before. Steeling a living is an understatement.

Poch has two players Dembele and Davies both not fit but picked for selection on the bench.

Another schoolboy error, are we seeing the pattern here, yep Poch has a really nice one on his tank top, fits perfect with his school blazer, the Pochettino outfit.

So with no natural width on the pitch and as we've analysed the fact Sissoko actually plays like a reincarnation of a toxicated William Webb Ellis coming fresh from a night out and a right footed fullback playing on the left we don't have anyone good enough to put a decent cross into the box, sound familiar.

Finally on the hour 63rd minute to be exact, Poch decides the imposter that is William Webb Sissoko needs a rest so is greeted by Poch as he exits the field with a handshake and a slip of a few quid into his hand with a tap of approval on his shoulder and a message of encouragement "Well done William, no goal but a good try"

So keep the right footed fullback on the left and bring another right back on, just like watching the semi final again,
"Why play Son at leftback" yep that semi final !! No change here, no clear cut chances and not one decent cross for the bodies in the box, oh yes there is one good chance for Dele a clear header that was so poorly executed that it wasn't even shown on Match of the Day. Maybe he was thinking about his next Tv advert appearance money and he was going to be negotiating with Levy his pay rise, which I suppose is enough to put any multi million pound footballer off a bread n butter header, the thought makes me lose the will to live.

The 74th minute Enter Llorente the big 6ft 4" Forward, on for Son.Everyone in the stadium thought ok we'll go more direct here. Fernando get yourself in the box and make a nuisance of yourself, nope but in good old Poch "school boy tactics" Fernando is instructed to drop deep and follow the ball, why would you bring a Target man on and not utilise him to his strengths. Bring back Crouchy and Redknapp days NOT.

A quick summary Poch with his Schoolboy outfit, Levy losing the will to live, the negotiator and William Webb Sissoko still at the club, Wembley Woes will continue.

I will finish on a slight positive I think we'll finish in the top four but get so close to the holy grail and just miss out on Silverware again, dangle that carrot and have it taken away at last min. It doesn't change the fact I will carry on supporting my club the one I chose over 30 years ago.

Feri, I didn't have time after Wednesday, otherwise it would have commented about how well we played. In the end folk comment about our luck, that's a case of swings and roundabouts, so we should have had a penalty or two, but on Wednesday they had a perfectly good goal disallowed for 2-2. For me our set up was poor, changes should have been made earlier, Trippier was a waste on the left and we failed to play to Llorente's strengths. It was there for all to see. It was poor, that may be football, but it didn't need to be so.

The problem with the system is two no 10s. Eriksen and alli are fighting over the same space and the centre of the pitch becomes over crowded. Id personally pick eriksen over alli if push comes the shove. Ideally we need to revert back to a 4231 system with eriksen playing inside left his best position.
When poch has too many options he tends to blunder by accomodating players in unfamiliar roles and inventing systems to fit players into. Ie playing two nimber tens. I think last yr going to a bk 3 was so he didnt have to chose between dier and wanyama.Son played a blinder mid week so rather than leaving alli out he plays son at wing back.

    Short summery ..
Was a slow turgid boring game more akin to AVB than what we expect.
The WHL/Wembley time came at the wrong time for us. COYS though.

To be in the 'glass half full' section I have to say that we used to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory now we snatch a draw.
Sometimes the negative side of getting new players is that the manager feels the need to fit them all in the team asap, which is often square pegs into round holes.
The thing that nagged me nearly all of the second half was that JV was playing as an attacking midfielder, which he is clearly not, so why not replace him with someone like Moussa who is.

WEMBLEY HOODOO WHAT A LOAD OF BALLS !!

While we're here another negative jibe I'm afraid, as soon as Danny "sorry" Rose has gone from the club with that sad excuse of a footballer Sissoko, replace them with Quality like Ryan Sessegnon, Thomas Lemar or even Mahrez I will start praising Levy, also I wish he'd stop squeezing on Toby's fathers balls, just give him what he wants FFS. I know Alderweireld wants a release clause, you're the best negotiator in the business Levy I'm sure we can come to some level playing field and meet half way at least.Stop treating the money like its yours Daniel!!!

Also Poch needs to grow some balls go back to the 4-2-3-1 formation which we had so much success and drop Dele for the West Ham game, start Harry Winks. Dele will be absolutely worn out with all the talk of money with the infamous negotiator.

Back to winning ways tomorrow against Barnsley beat the irons on Saturday and were back on course, season is on the way.At least the next three games after the Carabao cup are all away, Wembley hoodoo !! What Wembley hoodoo ?!?

With Levy squeezing on some, Poch needing to grow a pair and the Wembley hoodoo it does all seem a load of balls to me.

  10. geez, you don't break a bunker defense with a straight-on assault.!you need to pull the defense apart, create seams with wide, deep attacks. We had the wrong players out there for that. Davies should have been given 20 minutes on a gimpy whatever. The pace sucked. Sorry, I put the responsibility on Poch. He needed to kick some well-paid asses and manage the game better.

    There is a Wembley effect!

If I was a player or supporter of Sh!t FC.....a team that would never get to a semi-final or final at Wembley.....which game would I be looking out for??? .....which game am I going to bust a gut in so the manager wouldn't take me off.....which game as I going to be the best player on the playing surface.......

    ....Spurs away at Wembley
