Team news and expected line-up vs Fulham

With four games remaining and twelve points to play for, Spurs have the chance to equal their record points tally in the Premier League era set last season. To do so they will need four victories, starting against Fulham on Saturday lunchtime.

The west Londoners have been in resurgent form recently under the stewardship of Felix Magath. Three wins in their last five has seen The Cottagers rise up to 18th in the Premier League, just two points from safety. Results are key if they are to maintain their Premier League status. However, they have only picked up four victories on the road all season, conceding 40 goals in the process.

In the reverse fixture back in December, Spurs came from behind to end a four game winless streak. Ashkan Dejagah put Fulham ahead early in the second half. A fine strike by Vlad Chiriches from 35 yards levelled the scoreline before Lewis Holtby, who is now on loan at Fulham, fired home the winner from outside the box.

In the corresponding fixture last season, Fulham picked up their first victory at White Hart Lane since 2003 courtesy of a goal from former Spur Dimitar Berbatov.

Mousa Dembélé is back in contention to face his former club after completing 90 minutes for the U21s on Monday night.
Michael Dawson and Roberto Soldado have both returned to training after recovering from hamstring injuries.

I keep praying that scum and everton slip up in their last few games and we nick the final CL place. It is the never ending hope of the Spurs fan, even if niether won another game wed still find a way to nalls it up.

 

Think magath is a good manager but spurs should have too much for fulham. Hear Allegri is new favourite as spurs boss yet is he better or more experienced than felix magath ? Kane has started to score and lets have a good end to the season with lots of goals to make up for earlier in this campaign. COYS.

There are those out there who optimistically look at these last four games, all winnable, and feel we "might" finish 4th.....mmm. Can see one of them slipping up, but two - don't think so.

That said the bottom line is that we haven't been good enough for fourth and at home our lack of quality shows through. Wasting £100m in this league sets you back - how far back remains to be seen.

Given that, as a minimum, we need a centre back, left back, winger and a nailed on strong 20+ striker! you wonder how that is achievable. That could cost us close to £70m.....with only 50% rebate on any that we are going to sell, you can't really see that happening. With Barca banned from taking players there is no sale of JV to there, Hugo may go to PSG, so there may be investment monies there, but that means 2 more new players.....that means up to 6 new players, possibly.

We should look for a manager who can rebuild, without CL investment funds, be given time, then take the team forward. Looks like a long road to me.....
