I know this is radical but I would drop Jan and put wimmer back in!! Since Jan has come back we have struggled at the back , wimmer did exceptionally well and was unlucky to be dropped and Jan has not been the same since he has come back.
One last push as we must must finish above the scum otherwise we will never hear themed of it

hes won us a lot more points than lost, his stats against the top keepers hold up, sixth best in europe or something

Typically end of season Tottenham today, sad to say,.A draw would of put an end to the Stink, now we need a draw at least against the Magpies to finish 2nd.Depends on Sunderland's result on how intent they will be on winning, though. What a crazy season it has been, but refreshingly good to break the mould !Pity it wasn't our title but at the start of the season would of taken 2nd or 3rd.Coys!

    Thoughts....

    - we have a golden 11 and that is all, and have managed to be a point away from runners up without a second striker, or adequate back up for Moussa or Deli. That's not shabby.

    - our bench is thin, very...

    - we have needed, for ever, a second striker, another creative midfielder, decent cover in holding midfield

    - Hugo's been making mistakes that I've just not seen from other top keepers this season. That costs. The Sanchez shot already makes the difference....

    - it's still in our hands.

It has been a painful watch these last three games and a few before that. Mind you if we can't beat Newcastle to finish off the Gooners, then perhaps we don't deserve it.

    Let's do it lads....COYS

    A fair assessment Bazza.

Keepers are remembered for their mistakes (as they often prove costly) but Hugo has been our best keeper for an awful long time. For me, a key bit of business this summer is tying him down on a longer term/improved contract. I will back him all day long; a great keeper and a true pro!

Clearly our immediate objective is to take something from the barcodes next week. Then, extend/improve the main players contracts (Hugo, Jan, Eriksen, Lamela, Rose, Walker); move on the likes of Fazio, Mason etc and bring in some much needed quality that can compete at CL level - central mid, winger and a striker.

Now go and get second boyz... Stop giving hope to that shower down the road and slam the door firmly in their face :)

It's so difficult to try and fully review the season. The idea of finishing in the top 4 was a dream in the summer. But to be involved in the title race and suddenly find ourselves having to get at least a point on the final day to finish runners up is frustrating.
We should not lose sight of the fact that we have a very young squad. A young and passionate manager intent on bringing the best of the academy through.
That is positive and the experiences of this season should help the team to improve.
But... To compete in the Champions league and at the top of the league, we need much better strength in depth. You can't lose Alli and Dembele and bring in Perry bloody Mason!
Where Spurs have suffered at the end of the season has been Vertonghen coming back in. We looked much more solid with Wimmer at the back and sadly Poch was too soft in this issue.
As long as the lessons from this season are learned, the future is bright.
If not, square could quickly come around.

I disagree, Mattj78. Entirely. Spurs played well. Well enough to win anyway. Unfortunately, they played without the goal keeper, in essence. Lloris had the worst game I can remember, which is pretty much ever, for Spurs. He showed a 0,000% save, as he let pretty stoppable goals, for him anyway, in. On all and every shot he faced. Since no one can blame a keeper for a loss, and neither can I, let's forget and move on.
Game at Newcastle is very important. Imagine an unthinkable loss plus Pool and Shitty winning UEL and UCL respectively after scam finishing 2nd. Although Spurs get to be 3rd, we will lose CL spot. Hope this possibility will be laughed on next Sunday. COYS!!!

Have to agree with everyone here who is disappointed with the seasons end, it is unfortunately quite Spursy .. Not a saying I like .
I am proud that we have made the top 3 and possibly taken second place but to be totally honest the last three games have kinda taken the edge off .
We seem to have lost our way a little .
Again I could understand a sub par reaction to the title going but that was yesterdays game, WBA was poor and Chelsea, well I was astounded at the game, two up and then the second half, what was that all about ? We are as tough as Chelsea!!! Seriously, we only had to stay calm and that would have been a victory .
I may be in a minority but I was almost ashamed at the way our players lowered themselves to Chelsea's standards !

Read somewhere Poch said it was not important to finish above Arsenal....it is ! Sure a top 3 finish gives us CL but to be above them for so long and possibly blow it....brings back memories of the 10 point gap !

We may not even finish with a record points total !
Maybe we really are in this position because the normal top4 imploded at the same time...maybe a harsh truth

The team...we may have a good 11 but very little else. I would let Mason, Bentaleb, Fazio, Carroll, N'jie go .
The three behind Kane were pretty toothless yesterday, Son scored and was removed, whilst Lamele continued to run in circles.

Could not understand how Vertongen got straight back in the side, Wimmer had been at the very least his equal.
Does this point to Poch having favourites at the club, something the Southampton fans told us about ..

Alli and Dembele, perhaps big misses in our seasons end but both because of stupidity ..

Will say the next part with trepidation ... I think Lloris is not as ggod as we would like him to be..
Mentioned above Jack Butland, or even yesterdays opposition keeper, Forster ..

Finishing line, Still extremely proud of Spurs and am looking forward to the coming seasons..COYS

this season we have been, at times, simply excellent. ....to lose ground at the end of the season is hugely disappointing. But putting the effort in we have done to get to second is a great achievement.
we need a point at the barcodes to finish second. if we lose (and those lot down the road win).....we still get third! ....CL qualification!
disappointing to drop away....but really we are sitting higher than I imagined at the start of the season

Lets face it guesty, as anxious as we are, if we do the business, we'll all forget about the last few games and rightly so. We stuffed Manure, Sheik City and played the Gooners off the park in both games. We have been the best watch in the league for all but a few matches.
Fair brings a tear to my eye, with pride.........
Come on lads.....do it for yourselves, Poch and for us..............COYS

Lots of understandable frustration to the way we are finishing the season but if they learn from it and come back stronger then it won't be so bad .. Yesterdays performance was so last year , it was hard to watch and so predictable but in fairness you could understand them being a bit flat after what went on over the last couple of weeks .. It's a bit of sickener the way it's petering out and it makes it easy to forget the progress made and the way we've played for the majority of the season ... Hopefully they'll pull themselves together for one last big performance at the weekend and put this 2nd place to bed the right way , then we can look forward to next year with a lot more confidence then we have for a while ... I personally haven't a clue how next season will go , I wouldn't be as confident as some that the only way is up but for sure we are in a far better place then we have been for a while .... C.O.Y.S ......

Steady on guys whatever happens its been a successful season. I'm gutted with the end as are all you guys but multiply that by a million and that's how the players feel. No wonder they have fell to pieces. We have lost two key players and many others look jaded. The squad is thin we knew that all along and now its proved to be. Lessons will need to be learnt for next years campaign.
By the sounds of it we only need a new keeper and the league is ours.
