The last time I checked Joe Lewis was a multi multi millionaire. In fact.....

Lewis' total wealth is estimated at $4.2 billion, and he is listed as the 308th richest person on Forbes’ List of billionaires (2013). Forbes reports that Lewis is the ninth wealthiest person in the UK.

You answered my question he sold our best players but says he wants the best for club and none of the players you mentioned are in the class of ronaldo.he also replaced them with mediocre players lets be honest this is the worst spurs squad in years and levy is to blame . Its sad but if you want success you have to pay for it unfortunately that will not happen why his in charge

Thank you!! My point exactly. To say Spurs can't pay top money is nonsense. They choose not to. Football is sadly all about money these days but it is what it is. If you want success you have to compete financially and whilst we don't have the money of City, Lewis has the capability to put more money in than he does.
    Another fact for you folks.

Under ENIC , initial net spend was competitive, but in the last few years, whilst making huge profits on transfers, our net spend has ground to a halt. I am not sure how this can be seen as "wanting success"

    Net spend on transfer since ENIC took control. 2001-2002 + £8.5m 2002-2003 + £13m 2003-2004 + £13.5m 2004-2005 + £6m 2005-2006 + £21m 2006-2007 + £22m 2007-2008 + £35m 2008-2009 + £14m 2009-2010 + £6m 2010-2011 + £7m 2011-2012 - £16m 2012-2013 - £0.5m 2013-2014 - £12m 2014-2015 £0

Also, these figures do not take into account the revenue from television. So, those of you who believe all the money has gone back into the team are living in a dream world.
    Where has that money gone?

Making yourselves look very silly here lads .. Berbatov went on strike , did he not .. Modric agreed to give us another year , like Ronaldo at Utd and Suarez at L.Pool and what team wouldn't have sold Carrick for 18 mill and Bale for 80 -100 , what ever it was , especially when they wanted out . No one knows how messy the Bale situation would have been if we didn't let him go .. Got absolutely top dollar for them when we sold them . Are yee saying if yee were the chairman yee wouldn't have sold any of these players ??

Good point, but what I am talking about is not simply the selling. Everyone has their price but it is the re investment that is the problem, as the figures I have shown prove. Net spend the fifth lowest in the last five years. Lower than burnley for goodness sake.
Also people keep talking about levy as if he owns the club, he does not. Joe less who rarely steps foot in north London does. And he is simply making a profit and not a successful football club, as the following extract reveals:

Daniel Levy is merely a director and minority shareholder, and not the owner, of English National Investment Company plc, the holding company that controls 82% of Tottenham Hotspur. ENIC is in turn controlled by Tavistock Group, which is the private investment group of the billionaire Joe Lewis, who is, if such a person exists, the actual owner of Tottenham Hotspur.

So, if it was your company you would sack yourself? Bit odd.
Levy is working towards an ideal. It mat well not be perfect but its his vision for the club. Best training facilities, best stadium, young high quality squad and a management structure that can suffer the knocks without the team falling apart. we average 5th place on 6th place money With or without managerial changes. When are you boo boys gonna work out that every season is a step nearer the vision? 15 years ago our club was a joke under performing at every leval. Now the only joke is the fans, so easily whipped up by the media into levy haters. Perhaps you might want to point out in which way spurs is worse off than 15 years ago?

Thanks Matt, but how do you know how Lewis/ENIC chooses to spend their money?

Lewis is worth FAR less than Abramovic, Usmanov or Mansoor.

If he did choose to spunk cash into Spurs it'll cost him at least 25% of his fortune.

Would YOU spend 25% of your wealth or future earnings on a club when there are much safer investments such as property or commodities.
Business tycoons do not get rich through poor investments.

  10. I agree. I also have more faith in Lamela coming good than Soldado.

Leeds United & Rangers chased Champions League glory on a quick-fix spend-up......where are they now?

But that net is on transfers only . What about wages , and the overheads for running the club + money spent on getting this new stadium up + running .. At the end of each year how much money is left over after everybody and everything has been paid ..

They did indeed go for a quick fix. 15 years is hardly quick.

Buying land and settling company moves to clear the way for the stadium has so far cost over £120m. The new training ground cost over £45m
Obtaining planning consent and designing new stadium over £10.m.
Minor amounts i know but relevent.

The only difference is rather than mid table, we are top six now. Basically, in 15 years we have won one cup, been in the champions league once and moved up the table four or five positions.
As for having the best stadium, I will believe that when I see it. The whole thing is a fiasco. The only new stadium we will be playing in any time soon is the stadium MK.

    A n
a new stadium that is still not exactly moving any closer is it? In the time ENIC has taken to get to the current stalemate, Brighton, Southampton, Derby county, arsenal, Rotherham, burton Albion, .....ALL have new stadiums.

Whilst charging us top whack he runs us on a glorified swapsies budget. There is no structured plan in transfers, there is no structured plan in the team.
We blatantly ignore glaring deficiencies in the side every window of which are piling up considerably because of the poorly thought out player purchases. And everytime we fail to sort these things it pushes our best players closer to the exit door as they cant carry the team and can see things arent going to change any time soon.
So keep clapping our best out the door, give all the patience in the world to Lamela and Soldado, applaud Danny for running a tight ship, but realise that by doing this you are just as big a sell out of Spurs as Enic and Levy are.
Winning is not built on excuses and acceptance, giving yourself a bar of nearly is enough does not make champions. We are being pimped out by Levy and Co and these dreamers on here and in our fan base are actively supporting it !

He was vice captain and kaboul didnt play what do you expect. And wtf has it got to do with levy?
As poor as he has been on the pitch the word from the camp is he is brilliant with the younger players and a good leader.
