    What happened about going hard??

  3. Angelos Guest

We did play hard … I can’t fault the effort. But it appeared to me Fulham had the better players today. Missing both centre backs and both strikers … no Bentancur and Kulusevski for only 30 mins … and then he had to play up top? These are our best players we’re talking about.

Agree with you on Son … a very frustrating player. Bissouma as well. Maddison nothing special once again

Ange does disappoint me in one way though … his infatuation with Johnson. May seem harsh given his recent goal scoring form but his build up play is statistically among the worst in Europe.

Yes we have had injuries which make you wonder about training but please stop using this to excuse a man who is out of his depth .Other teams have injuries just as bad and get on with it .Surely Johnson is not worse than Son who is spent.Recruitment has been awful although it might be good in 5 years time

  5. Our squad depth is our problem yet again. Dragusin ducked out of the way of the Fulham equaliser which for a CB is just not acceptable (and was consistently average at best). Udogie at LB is a worry as he cant defend and when he makes mistakes so high up the pitch he causes us problems every game. Davies doesn’t have the pace to catch the break from the high line but still tries his best when playing. Son is so wasteful these days and doesn’t look like scoring. All in all, bad day today except Forster who didn’t look like a player who never plays and made some really important saves for us (despite a few misplaced passes).

Next week we play Bournemouth away and then Chelsea at home.I think we will struggle with both and if we lose both then what.A heavy defeat by Chelsea will not be tolerated by the supporters again.Could be Ange is playing for his future. He is certainly coming against 2 men who understand the premiership and are tactilly far above him

I disagree with the Son comments. I just think he needs the Kane solanke person to bring out the best in him. So that he can stay more left

You really need to get a grasp on reality.

We don’t have a good squad. Remove our top 3 players and then both our strikers and this is exactly what you’ve got left. Fulham simply had the better players on the pitch today.

You need to stop confusing us with a big club. Our summer window consisted of buying teenagers … and we have two more arriving soon. Clearly no one at the club is in a rush to do anything.

I admire the manager for his tactical approach. We would be an extremely boring low level football team without him.

That said … I will criticise him. I find his myopia with Johnson maddening. Johnson may be a good finisher from 5-10 yards out. He’s also in the bottom 5% in Europe for his position in creating shots and the bottom 22% in beating his man. That’s in the last 12 months.

Son missed a sitter in the opening 3 minutes.

We’re 7th in wages. A absolute whopping 70-80 million pounds per week! behind the likes of Arsenal Chelsea and United. We are simply never going to consistently compete for top honours with that approach … like never. There will be no top 4 this year … the squad is not good enough. I expect we will finish 5th or 6th.

  11. Angelos Guest

    Apologies … per annum!

  12. We won’t compete for top honours with that approach but give Ange and the new recruitment team time and we should be competing for top 4 and cups as a minimum based on what we spend.

We may well finish outside the top 4 this year but we still do have a chance thanks to how erratic everyone except Liverpool seem to be but a top 6 place and cup will be a decent season for us with the squad we have currently.

Some clever investment in January and the summer with players who suit Anges approach and won’t keep breaking with the training regime and we will improve. I would replace Dragusin, get another decent keeper (like the fella at Liverpool currently) and sign Mituma from Brighton in January if at all possible. That would change the second half of our season

What clever investment .If the last window is an example we ain’t very clever unless you are looking for sell ons.We need a top striker a centre half and 2 full backs who can defend.I really like Porro and Udogie going forward but both are so poor defending or is it the system .Nobody has answered my what happens if we lose to Bournemouth and Chelsea next week. Will the super optimists still fawn for Angeball. We need 2 wins to bring back the hope.Still it could be worse we could be City fans who every body beats and in our case we are world beaters when we did it

As I said, sell Dragusin, get another CB, sign Mitoma and another GK for a start

  15. Angelos Guest

To be honest, that is not going to make much difference in itself. Don’t get me wrong, this team can win a cup for sure, lesser teams have. But putting together a top tier lineup … as we had circa 2016 … with our level of investment is going to require more than quite a few lightning strikes. The market has exploded since. Such a scenario is even less realistic now.

Ange will see out the season I’m sure. And then who knows, he may actually walk himself. Knowing full well that expectations and reality never meet at Tottenham Hotspur. We are a very rich club, with one of the best paid chairmen in football, and the highest ticketing as well, but relatively speaking, we spend as little as is possible where it counts. And our owners definitely do not invest their wealth at all.

Well run club? or just a gravy train?

I just saw the regulion was on the bench? I guess that means we pulled him back from Brentford loan. Hadn’t heard that

  18. Angelos Guest

Did you see the rest of the bench? Wow … that tells you all you need to know.

Regulion started well. Showed promise but never kicked on
