some will think I'm crazy but I won't start the match with Odobert because he's coming back from injury. Not sure that Richardlison is ready to start today so I would start with Werner who must, for the last time, try to regain the confidence that is fleeing him. After that, if he doesn't convince again then he can leave and not play anymore. Thus, it allows Odobert or Mickey to enter without pressure in the 2nd half. For Maddison's case, I think he has a status in the team that will allow him to start the match today again.

Mainly because we’re playing so many games at the moment and have another big one on Wednesday … but wouldn’t be surprised at all if Maddinson starts in place of Sarr. I think they will be careful with Richy and Werner needs a break.

As for the result … I’m actually not feeling that confident. We should win. Palace are struggling results wise in the league, and we’ve beaten them 5 straight. But that also suggests they might be due.

Time for Solanke to stand up. His general hold up play has been good but we signed him to score and so far 2 is not a good return

 

His hold up play and little runs with the ball have been great. Sometimes you sacrifice for others. A run pulling defenders away creates a goal for someone else. If we win when he plays, it’s not important if he scores but yes he will want to be getting on the scoresheet more.

by the way do you have a list that you go down and move onto the next player to criticise

Johnson should never start- scores loads
Kulu is useless- been best player for a while
Werner is shite (I’ll give you that one )
Solanke needs to score more- I guess he’ll get a hatrick now

To score a hat trick you must have a shot so far we have had none today.i will give you Johnson has improved greatly but so far today Kulu non appearance which he does when a team press hard like Palace.Sorry voice of reason but to be good you must do it all season not just a month

Yes this is a terrible performance today But the same as you can’t judge on one game , you can’t pick and choose, facts speak for themselves Kulu and Johnson have played well over the past 6 or 7 games

That said …

We got outmuscled/hustled by a more physically gifted/athletic side and weren’t technically good enough to play through them.

Thought starting Moore in this fixture today was pretty arrogant to be honest. Palace are a pretty decent side despite their lack of results so far this season and a front three of Johnson, Solanke, and Moore always looked weak. Going to a 424 … or whatever it was … didn’t work much either.

 

Please voice of reason come on here and justify that rubbish.You take great delight in criticising me for being critical of our players and manager even though they continue to prove me correct.As I have said Kulu and Johnson have improved but it’s only a short term thing when we are playing bottom half teams. I wanted Moore but playing in todays team would destroy any one’s confidence and maybe I was too optimistic after watching Werner

 

Moore deserved to start a league game at some point but away at a desperate Palace today wasn’t the one. He’s a top prospect but he’s barely 17. He’s got a long way to go.

I would have started Odobert but it appears he’s injured again. So Werner should have been in. He’s been choking on the one on ones but at least he’s getting in those positions/making those runs and his build up play for the most part has been good.

I also would have started Sarr as Palace too athletic for us today. Ange is playing the long game at Spurs no doubt (judging by the last window) but I’d agree that was poor from the manager today.

 

The man is out of his depth and why were Palace more athletic or do we buy unfit players

 

A disgusting inept unprofessional performance in every regard. It takes effort to pass the ball that badly and give up possession so easily. A performance that personifies enic and Daniel levy and all the other inepts who simply go through the motions to create the illusion of a football club which is merely the front for an investment business. New owners and a new squad is needed. Special mention for romero who is who is one of the poorest centre backs in the league but struts around like he's world class.

 

Just seen Vicarios after match comments where he said we lacked attitude and fight.What a terrible thing to have to say about your own team although he was 100% correct.I believe the players are losing belief in Anges system.Must agree about comments about Romero a walking disaster

 

They have a more athletic side than us … stronger/faster … and it showed today … in part because we were so technically poor.

Our best midfield in my opinion would be Bentancur Maddison and Kulu … that’s our most technical trio … and they’ve played really well together at times. But if they’re not on then they can easily get run over because none of them are particularly athletic. Kulu can run all day for sure but he’s not exactly explosive. Sarr would have helped in that sense today because we got outmuscled.

I think Ange is looking long term and that’s fine with the club. Because we would have actually bought some quality in the summer rather than a few teenagers and a back up striker.
