I read we are close to pedro porro as right wing back Don’t know anything about him but I’m certain he is better than Royal!

Not sure how I feel about this one

Suggests we were too tight to sign Trossard or Zaniolo and are happy to settle with Son’s woeful play

Didn’t we just get rid of Bergwijn who kept Danjuma out of the World Cup?

    I hope I’m wrong

This would be a major boost… and we need a boost

Wouldn’t it be nice to have someone on the right who offers something in the final third?

I’ll believe it when I see it though… it’s been going on for weeks

This transfer smacks of second choice because we refuse rhe fee for Zaniolo.Hope I am wrong but I think Bergwin was chosen over him at World Cup.Hope we complete Porro signing but why are we not prioritising a centre half and an inventive midfielder.Still can’t see a plan.Hopefully Spence will get loan and show what he can do and prove Conte petulant

It’s quite odd that Conte has highlighted how poor we are defensively recently but no attempts to sign at least 1 x CB have been made. Danjuma is a very uninspiring signing on loan and his pedigree is a concern (Villarreal and Bournemouth). I hope he does really well but how does it help fix our biggest problem which is CB (x2) and RB. Seems slightly pointless to me but who knows. While Dier is first choice at the back and Emerson/Doherty are anywhere close to the team we have much bigger problems. Add to that Hugo’s liabilities, Danjuma feels like square peg in a round hole.

Just a levy token to try and cover up another window wasted

  7. The Conte Guest

Lucas is pretty much gone for the season so signing another forward is at the least about having the required numbers up front… that we didn’t splurge suggests we’re stuck with Son for the remainder of the season… but Danjuma could always be a surprise

Not signing a centre back at the moment would be about quality… we’ve already got a few who can be very good on their day but suffer from inconsistency… there’s no point spending now to bring in someone exactly the same

Signing Porro (ie. a bona fide starter) is a must… otherwise this is just another wasted window and would suggest nothing has changed with our chips and nuts transfer policy

Our only realistic chance of a trophy and the team selection is a joke,.Tanganga Sanchez Lenglet who is he kidding .Preston are not an easy touch and we will need to be strong defensively.Lose today and question must be asked about how serious Conte is to try and win something

The result I suppose justifies the selection but Sanchez and Tanganga both made silly challenges which they got away with as Preston had no forward players.Son at last back to what he does best.Kulu was poor tonight as was Sessengon and Doherty.Bissouma looking more like the player he was at Brighton.Let’s hope for a good home draw next

“Preston are not an easy touch and we will need to be strong defensively”

“as Preston had no forward players”

which is it are they no easy touch or so they have no forward players?

we have to rest players and this clearly worked out

Luckily their main strikers are on loan and could not play including one of our own mr parrot.I personally was disappointed by Preston’s defensive attitude as this
    was the fa cup

But that’s the point. The team chosen was more than adequate to beat them as was proven

Strong rumours that Sporting are not wanting to transfer Porro now. What a joke this will be if true.Once again the bald idiot does not do what good clubs do and get your transfers early. His money pinching ways are now P***ing off other clubs.I know Chelsea have unlimited resources but they have bought players we can only dream of.We needed a centre half a wing back and a creative midfielder at least and so far we have an on loan forward. It’s ironic that Levy finally agrees to pay full fee then the selling club change their mind.Let’s hope this is only paper talk but once again we have settled for also rans. This chairman will never change as he does not really understand the football side and insults the fans on a regular basis

Too much gamesmanship… it can work sometimes but then other times you will get this

No transfer of this level should take so many weeks… but not entirely sure it is our fault in the end. Verbal agreement was reached and Porro had said his goodbyes… then the geezers changed the goal posts. 40 mill is not enough for them apparently for some guy who couldn’t cut it at an EPL club a few years ago

The amusing thing is City have a 20 mill buy back clause… so let’s hope they buy him back next year for half the price we were offering… that will teach them

Should we play Sporting again then I trust we will crush them

Would it not be good to be told the truth about how many offers we have made this window and what we bid. After the joke offer for Trossard. Is Paratici really worth the money we pay him.A centre half was paramount but no bids as far as I can see until the last 7 days HINCAPIE?? Chelsea have a better squad than us but have spent 120 million which could go up to 240 million if they get Fernandez while we have a loaner and maybe a full back if sporting stop playing games

I don’t want us buying another centre back unless he’s top tier… apart from Romero we’ve got a number of guys of similar level/similar pedigree… they’re not bad… just inconsistent

So the only improvement there would be in signing a top class replacement… not so easy to find mid season

If you think Tanganga and Sanchez are ok then you are easily pleased they are not inconsistent just 2nd rate

Sanchez there is no hope for. I just always see two left feet

Tanganga….well….he’s been educated the English defensive way and not the European defensive way.
Conte wants a different style of play to Tanganga’s

Dier…..educated the Portugese way……plays the ‘who knows’ way

Romero…..educated the Argentinian way….plays the ‘don’t you know who I am’ way.

I think Romero is more the “don’t get in my f###ing way” way!

Sanchez is above average… certainly was when he joined Spurs… his career has stalled

Tanganga is just an academy player and 6th on the depth chart… I wasn’t referring to him

Seems like we’ve landed Porro for 42 mill plus

He would want to be good
