Let’s be honest this has been coming for while.We beat Marsielle because of the red card or we would have lost that game too.Why oh why is Son still being picked instead of Kulu although tonight Kane was attrocious .When will learn to pass the ball to our own team .We have nothing in midfield to create any thing and only Kulu runs off the ball.This will make the spurs supporters start to question Conte.We buy 7 new players and only play2.how many goals have we conceded from dead ball situations.We did not have a shot apart from Emerson.I am shocked that people think this is a team. that can finish top 4.

I did catch Marcus’s maradonna run, pretty cool, although a few of our defenders may not agree

 

An even affair so disappointing not to at least draw… Conte’s dismal record in the Champs League takes another blow though

Still what’s that… first loss in 14 games? Not bad

I think Royal’s time at RWB might be coming to an end… perhaps when Lucas returns to full fitness

With our formation it’s absolutely necessary that the wingbacks be a significant threat in the final third… we’re only getting that from one side of the pitch presently

If Conte can sort this disparity out… whether with Kulu or Lucas or Doherty or Spence… then we will be much better for it

 

Can any body explain why a coach as good as Conte can only play one system,We desperately need 3 in midfield sometimes but he won’t change.Personally I thought we purchased one of the really top class midfielders in Bissouma and don’t play him.He should be first choice and if only playing2 in midfield then the other one is a fight between the rest.How does Conte justify rotating the left backs but not the right back who is not a wing back,We have Doherty and Spence who have had 9 minutes so far this season.Also Contes use of subs is non existent.Is this why a manager who has won leagues in different countries never shown in the champions league

 

He tweaks it now and again but 3 at the back is obviously his thing… prohibits playing 3 across midfield unless you want to go defensive

Bissouma’s no show so far is disappointing… Hojbjerg and Bentancur are good but not exactly the best athletes… I would have thought Bissouma would complement either of those two well

Why has Conte won 5 major league titles but only one major domestic cup… while having a woeful record in the Champs League? That’s the million dollar question… coincidence? or something related to his style?

Seems to be my duty every week to give a half time summing up.So far totally inept.Please remo ve Sessengon before he costs us the game ,Ditto Sanchez .Please bring on Bissouma for one of the absent midfield.Strange no son and richarlison has a mare.For all the new players we are now beginning to look like a Mourino team.Come on Conte show some leadership and shake up these loafers

As you say my half time rants seem to work but even when we led 3-2 Leicester were the better footballing team but Conte at last realised that subs can make a difference.Son was back to his magnificent best and two of his goals were world class.Liked Bissouma short cameo and this holds promise for the future.Still don’t see Sessengon as a premiership player

 

This is what I have seen coming for weeks .We have at last imploded and finallyEmmerson has done what he had been promising for weeks and surely should not be first choice anymore.I am still not believing the team selections.Why buy a class midfielder in Bissouma and leave him on the bench.Unless our wing backs are world class then the system we play will never work against the better teams.We are outplayed in midfield because we are outnumbered.Why take off our best two players in Richarlison and Lenglet.Son was back to his pre hat trick form again.The interesting thing was that Doherty comes on and is worse than Emerson.Please Conte swallow your pride and play Spence.I am beginning to wonder if the faith in Conte is perhaps over stated as I do wonder if a manager should be able to switch systems but he does not ever do it.I am surprised that all the old faithfuls have stopped posting

 

Preed, agree with everything you've said however it really does not matter who the manager is whilst ENIC are running the business. You cannot play Conte/Mourinho ball and expect to be effective with inferior players. ENIC had the chance to back Conte in the summer but as usual failed abysmally. You would think it was Arsenal that had got champs league football. Again, there is no hope whilst ENIC are running this business. I repeat, nothing will change.

 

And Preed..just to explain why the previous faithfuls have stopped posting..its because they realise nothing will change under ENIC.

The football all season has been terrible instead of paying out to underpin the house we keep chucking muck in the ever widening cracks.

The style is atrocious, the window was poor, Kane & Son look like their legs have gone.

The defence and captain calamity are still a shambles even though we play with 7 defensive players holding hands camped in our own box.

I think this loss is great because Royal has to be replaced now due to suspension so maybe a 3 man midfield will be implemented

 

Posted because all season we've continued this trend of playing atrocious football just the results have glossed over it so I couldn't be bothered with the pretence everything was great.

This is Mourinho ball just with Conte in the dug out the only difference is Conte has a few better players to use.

Bored of keep repeating myself about the state of the squad, transfers, quality because if we beat Fulham for example everyone thinks its all brilliant and ignore how bad we really are.

 

I agree Felon that the football has been dire and the results have covered this up.I do believe we have made 4 quality signings but Conte won’t use them apart from Peresic who may be past his best.Bissouma was brilliant last year as was Spence.How can a supposedly top manager see Emerson as first choice.Richarlison is a good player and puts more effort in than either Kane or Son.When Conte made subs late on today he brings on Doherty and Sessengon .Why not Spence.Maybe this rigid thinking is why Conte has never done anything in the champions league .Don’t be surprised if this goes horribly wrong without a change of attitude..How many of the top sides play2 in midfield where we are overrun every week.

 

Todays stats vs last seasons stats, Nuno who had a worse squad n was hung out to dry was slaughtered for the same scoreline but statistically had a better go at it.
Conte won't get a quarter of the same vitriol or abuse for a much worse performance with better players.

 

More worrying is the fact that our under21 squad has been thumped by 4goals by arsenal and Brighton in there last 2 games .so there is not a lot in the wings.Does anyone worry that the assistant to Conte is the NumptyMason and he he is ready if Conte goes.You could not make it up

 

So basically you wait all season until we lose our first match and then pick and choose some stats to create a false narrative, oh how I’ve missed you Felon!

If you had participated in pretty much any other matches discussion this season then we have done better than last year. Even with this first loss and yes we are going to lose matches, as will everyone else, we are still top 4 and having a great start to the season. Agree we aren’t firing on all cylinders yet but that makes the position all the better.
