Preed…..wow….game 2 is a little early for a top4 discussion
….especially at a ground we rarely do well

I thought we started well in the opening 10 minutes and showed we can take the game to them. Let’s hope we get back to that

 

Agree that it’s early but that does not change the fact we got away with one big time.Does Peresic look as though he should be a first pick I think so and Bissouma as well.Unfortunately Dier went back to dire.Son must be under pressure now as he is a liability when we are defending and richarlison is eager.also Spence should walk into this defence but Conte seems loathe to pick him

 

A memorable game!

Woeful performance first half… well and truly off the pace. But showed plenty of heart in the second… with a great finish lol

 

Need to think about changes now if not why have we spent money.I would love to know why Spence does not get in squad as he is an upgrade on our fullbacks and unless Conte changes formation we need full backs who can get forward.Interested to see if son gets his mojo back now he has competition .Bissouma is a must but who for I am not sure

 

Perhaps but we also had some of the very best chances of the game.

Perisic will start at LWB… most likely next match. We didn’t sign him as a back up.

Bissouma will get plenty of starts and may be first choice soon… it will be a question of form. We certainly could have used his athleticism and aggression in the first half yesterday.

I’d like to see Richy start… Conte will figure out how.

I wouldn’t fully trust Spence at this point… Royal doesn’t offer much going forward but he’s mobile and defends well for the most part. Kulu may get moved to RWB to accomodate Richy as well.

 

I’m not sure Richarlison is worth the money we paid…..I hope to be proved otherwise….but he’s a good player and brings the fight we need at times

 

Possibly not… but he’s scored double digits a few times playing for less than top sides. I think he can bag more than a few for us playing alongside Kane. And yes absolutely agree… his attitude is great.

Top scorer in the league without his mojo last year, imagine how good he will be with his mojo

 

Given our record at the bridge I'd have easily taken 4 points regardless of performance in this game in particular. I think we are still getting used to this system and one or two don't fit. Leaving spence out is a statement from conte that he didn't get the quality he wanted however IF spence shows he's good enough in training and the minutes he gets I don't think conte is daft enough to cut his nose off. I think he's the only manager who has won this league with a regular 352 ish system just needs one or two more as we haven't really improved the 11 as seen Sunday. Given Perisic favours his right foot I'd like to see him play and slowly introduce Lenglet given his long range passing ability to break the lines quicker on counter attacks. The problem with a front 3 that stay high is getting them the ball quicker on transition play which we only managed a couple of times Sunday kanes miss in particular, the foul on sonny and and a few miscontrolled break aways.

 

Richarlison is a necessary signing. Harry Kane may not ink a new deal and we might have to sell him end of the season or let him walk away free.

 

The odd ball over the top is fine with me but this isn’t Jose’s way we’re playing these days by any means… that was just one long ball after another from the back

Playing 3 up top with attacking wingbacks would favour a quick counter style against sides that come at us… most do at present… but our front 3 does drop deep with a preference for ball at feet

Against sides that want to sit back we will happily knock it around all day

 

Wolves will be a tough nut to crack today and like you say we don't really have a lock picker like a prime eriksen. Could kane play as a ten with two out and out no 9s up top on Saturday!?

 

Interesting idea! but as good as Kane is distributing the ball you’d want him up top most often for his finishing

No we don’t really have a 10.. Kulu fancies himself there but he would seem better coming off the edge

Perhaps we will go 424 again if we need to overload

 

Embarrassing first half.outclassed by wolves. Still lots of issues not addressed (dire/Sanchez) and zero creativity in midfield.

Much better second half. Winning whilst playing poor is a new thing for us
Last season the 3 games we have played so far were all losses, so 7 points better this year

 

A win is a win but an insipid performance… particularly the first half. Can’t remember a worst half from us to be honest

On a positive note… Perisic and Richy are good… Richy deserves to start. Sit Son for a game… or Kulu… and bench Bentancur for Bissouma

We did defend well today but we were lucky not to drop points

 

Better second half but we really do need to start quicker or games will be lost .Peresic is obviously class and he can cross a ball.Must stop Son taking corners.Time for Bissouma to get start and if Son does not shake himself out of rut then Richarlison should get start

 

You know I just read that Spurs haven’t conceded with Sanchez on the pitch for the last 450 minutes… or 5 games if you like

No he’s not much good on the ball and yes he’s prone to the odd brain fade but he’s a pretty decent defender… particularly as a backup

 

Can’t believe the season has started and we have about 4 people giving opinions on the website.What has happened too the once busy busy site
