One world class player and 2 world class strikes and we are beaten again .We defended like a championship team and if reggie is such a liability why is he playing. How much longer do we go on about bad luck and start beating rubbish like United and yes I agree United are a one man team which makes the losss even worse. To finish of a good weekend Leicester turn out their reserves against arsenal I also agree that Son owes us a performance

So when Nuno was sacked we were 8th 5 points off top 4.
17 games later we are 8th 6 points off top 4.

And whilst some were getting overjoyed about a run of games where we faced mainly cannon fodder talking about better coaching etc we've moved literally nowhere in the table.

The reason being for this is the squad isn't fit for purpose, it's an awful defence as much as some want to make out Lloris is world class, Romero best seria A defender, Dier is transformed n steady Eddie Davies is dependable the facts remain that they're collectively an absolute shambles.
So much so that yesterday they made CR7 look like a prime vintage Ronaldo.

A 3CB system with only 1 natural CB in that relies on wing backs because the midfield has no pace or creation, but then employs the 4 worst wing backs in the league.

Only at Spurs is such negligence celebrated/excused/indulged by a fanbase so desperate to defend its players n owners that they'll scapegoat managers that have been there n done it because they can't get a tune out of a bunch of championship level players.

As has remained my position on this the players have a piss poor attitude, to couple with a very poor quality level and topped off with nothing on the bench and barely enough to make a decent 1st 11.

Out of all the cups n sitting in mid table another season of complete failure from the board n players, the same players that have stunk the place out now for years.

I'll be amazed if Conte hangs around for this sh;t show next season, while people talk about big summers ahead knowing we've NEVER had a big summer in 21 years of Enic mismanagement.

As for us being better or deserving more from the game is just pure delusional, you make your own luck n create your own problems.
Round n round in circles repeating the same mistakes over n over with the same bunch of dozy players.

You don’t half come out with some strange statements…

If you can’t see the improvement in our performances between Nuno and Conte then there is no point at all in debating anything with you.

I haven’t seen a single comment on this site about Lloris being world class still (he used to be) and not one person has said that Dier is transformed. Most comments agree that our wing backs are a source of real problems and have been for a couple of seasons (although to be fair the club have tried to address it with Regy and Emerson who both turned out to be average at best).

No scapegoating of managers from anyone, just a realistic expectation that the players should have been performing better (which in the main they have been with Conte despite some of the results including against Utd where we absolutely played well enough to deserve more).

Given the commitment by the club to get Conte and Paratici, along with the signings of Bentancur and Kulu, I fully expect a clearout to take place in the summer. If we don’t sell at least 4 and sign 4 decent players, I’ll be back on here to apologise for my optimism…I just hope you will do the same if we do…

I don’t know how many other ways to say it…..Improvements in performances but not necessarily getting the results we want/expect

    There's literally no improvement

    ……signing 4 decent players will be delightful…..but I don’t see it.

going by (many) previous seasons it will have to happen early enough in the window to keep Conte…..and that will be the problem

Good performance again and this time we got the result that the performance deserved. We are showing much more consistency with how we are playing, let’s just hope the results become more consistent in the remaining games as there is still a chance of top 4 (albeit a faint one).

Good result after such an undeserved and deflating loss a few nights ago... could have easily flatlined here... there's no such thing as an easy away game in the Premier League

10 games left... 6 at home... very important couple of months for the club here

A good match which resulted in a positive result. Saturday's burst of energy for 0 points was more successful last night. Whatever the opinion of Felon or Preed, it is difficult not to see a marked improvement in the game, in the commitment and in the confidence that lives in this team since the arrival of Conte. Admittedly the results are not always followed but to change a bike into a race car takes time or it will never happen (Dier or Davies, etc...). Let's support this team until the end of the season and hope that the work of Conte and his staff will bear fruit in mid-May!

Must give credit for todays result. How much differerence Bettancur makes over Winks.Must admit that 3 of Paraticis signings are looking good Romero Kulu and. Bettancur.Alright he still had something to do with Emerson but you can’t win them all

agree…I think Bentacour and Kulusevski have settled in nicely and are showing an improvement on what we have.
Lloris on his day is still a good keeper….add Romero, Kane, Son…..(and again on his day) Hojbjerg…..and it’s starting to look a decent team. we need some work to make it a decent squad…..as too many are inconsistent

hopefully Conte will be supported early enough in the next window.

any thoughts on Eriksen coming back? ….I’d take him if there is a chance

  13. Super professional performance leads to a super professional result

That’s generally what you get when you have a super professional manager… yes he’s too volatile at times but there’s no way we’re going to do any better presently

The club… the fans…everyone needs to back him… because the alternative at the moment will almost certainly be shite

I think the squad is very much what it is… you pretty much get what you pay for in life if you have any sense… and we’re not paying for the very best… but we’re good… good enough for Champions League regardless if we achieve that this term or not

Those promoting that we need to bring in x y and z have a point… we’re obviously very thin in a couple of positions… but only a certifiable ass clown would suggest we’re Championship level

So let’s just smash that broken record because it is has become an utter bore these last couple of years… anyone suckling on that teat needs a good slap upside the head

I thought the same a few weeks back however some correctly pointed out where would he fit in Contes system, which when you think about it is probably true.

This got me thinking about who is realistic that would be able to play in the middle. Kessie was linked and supposed to be a great player but I have never seen him and it looks like he is off to the FFP champions, Barcelona.

If you ask what is the number 1 thing we actually do worse than any other team in world football, it’s dead balls…corners (under knee height), free kicks (straight at the wall). So, IMO we should try and get JWP from Southampton as he has a decent engine, never gets injured, is better on a dead ball than most of the league and can pass, tackle and shoot. I know he isn’t the world class sounding MF some might want but IMO he has proven himeself year after year in the league and wouldn’t end up being guaranteed shite like some of the imports (Lo Celso and Ndombele come to mind).

Not only a good win today.
We got it with the way ! Some players were like zombies not so long ago and today the game offered is attractive, offensive and everyone enjoys it.
    COYS !

Superb performance with the result thoroughly deserved and players starting to understand Contes instructions which is getting them to play to their potential

  19. So pleasing to see Spurs playing a quality style of football again… on the deck… out from the back

The third goal… 16 passes through a high line from a free kick on our own box… was a thing of beauty

  20. A final observation on this fixture…

Romero is absolute class… hard to believe he’s just 23… yes he sails too close to the wind at times but I hope Conte refrains from criticising him too hard… he’s not going to find a better centre back at Spurs… or just about at any club for that matter

I saw Stevie Nicol bagging Romero on ESPNFC awhile ago after he’d come back from a long layoff

He’s not worth 40 mill! Spurs have overpaid by 20!

Seriously… wasn’t Stevie a defender himself? what an absolute dumbass… I couldn’t be happier that Romero plays for us… an absolute steal at 40 million… especially when you think that Maguire went for 80… laughable bias
