Because next week it will be back to how terrible our squad is in comparison to every other team in the league and how coaching and tactics can have no impact on our playing group because they, as footballers, are not coachable.

……everyone is hoping the same team that played against City turn up for the rest of the season

    And that…

That's not changed over 1 result, the odd result happens.
The reality is we're currently 8th behind West Ham Arsenal & even Wolves but don't let that detract from the amazing turnaround narrative.

I totally share THFC's sentiment. This permanent negativity towards everything that is done around the Spurs is distressing! We ALL have the same opinion on the overall quality of the team and on the lack of ambition and significant investment by Levy and the board. ALL apart from Levy perhaps... Only, we must recognize that the results and the way of playing are close to our wishes as Tottenham Supporters. Rome was not built in 1 day... Conte, if he is supported, will turn the wheel of negative results but he must be given a little more time. Like understanding that Winks is more valuable off the field than on it... Dier's return allowed Sanchez to leave, who made far too many mistakes. With the final result that we know against the actual best team in the world. We have all been terribly disappointed since January. To Conte to remedy this and to all Spurs fans to play the game by positiveizing the situation and supporting this team whatever the horrors that sometimes inhabit it.

preed, you did give them credit and are fairly rational with your comments, giving credit when it is due. I think you made an error including Felon in your analysis of people praising the result though, it was a backhanded compliment and he has since returned to his normal negativity!
Dier back in the side and the results improve, I think he is under rated and suffers from the long period he had when he suffered a long illness/injury. Against the best team in the league, only goals came from an error from Hugo and an unlucky handball.
I certainly dont think we are the best team in the league but with the first choice 11, I definitely think we are in for a shout of 4th. The rearranged Arsenal game could be the decider

Would you like another backhanded compliment tonight?

What's distressing is losing 3 of our last 4 to Saints Wolves & Burnley while fans say we've improved n are playing close to our wishes

Still think we are a fair bet for top four Voice of reason after tonight’s utter dross. Why oh why did we cancel Auriers contract and sign Emerson and Doherty .Aurier was not good but still far better than Either of the other two.We have no chance while players like Emerson and Winks are first picks.Once again we concede from a set piece as is our usual.I have finally given up and will not watch this rubbish and will take in my local non league team to get some enjoyment

Terrible conditions that suited Burnley to the ground which is just our luck. Burnley defended unbelievably well and there is always a risk of us being caught out by a cross given our frailties at the back. It’s amazing how much better we are with Dier however that isn’t anywhere near good enough to be solid and to really improve we need 2 x CB in the summer. Winks also seems to somehow manage to reduce the level/quality of those around him in MF so really needs to be left out of the squad.

Really disappointing result but if Burnley play like that against those around us they will pick up a few more results which will even it out in the chase for 4th. Let’s just hope it wasn’t their best and only good performance of the season like often seems the case with lower placed sides against us vs others.

Is there another team in top half who would lose to Southampton Wolves and Burnley in the same month I don’t think so

Thfc you really do need to take off your rose coloured spectacles and see the wood for the trees

I think we must have watched a different game. Our performance was far from terrible? Yes we should expect to beat Burnley in a chase for 4th but the conditions were terrible, they played very well and we didn’t create or take enough chances tonight. Aurier was awful so careful what you wish for…I agree that Emerson and Doherty are both not anywhere near good enough but Aurier was just as terrible. We would better off not playing all 3 of them. Long way to go yet though and still only 3 points from 5th and 7 from 4th (with 2 games in hand)

Dream on Thfc a poor man united and Arsenal and probably wolves will finish above us and we will probably help Leeds back to form at the weekend
You did not think we played badly did you see Emerson Winks Sessengon these players would struggle in the championship. We can’t defend set pieces and we had 3 shots on goal.World beaters???

I also think we didn't have a bad game overall. Offensively we are far too messy against teams that defend low with 6 or 7 players. I sincerely think that Sessegnon was useless for 80 minutes, that Bergjwin should come on once before Lucas who was only a ghost tonight and that Son has sadly been absent offensively for a long time. Even if the entry of Winks coincides with a defeat, it is one of the only times where he is in no way responsible... Only Sessegnon... who makes his 10th fool on his lane in our half field brings this terrible goal!

3 points from 15 available, 4 losses in last 5.

And people are blaming the weather.

Just seen Contes after match comments and they dont seem to agree with the rose coloured who think we are playing well.He has likened our play to that of a relegation team and has said something has to change including himself.I think he now knows that this bunch of losers will not get any better and I will be surprised if he stays next year Let’s be honest his record tells us he is a good manager but why does he continually pick Emerson and Winks and Sessengon .I have no faith in Paratici who only seems to know Italian football and seems to be ruled by Levy as to when we bid for someone . Levy has let this club go to the dogs while he chased his dream of having a stadium for all sorts of entertainment while the football took second place. We are in for a long period of dross until we get rid of Enic

Further to my post. about Contes comments his follow up is even more telling .He has said he has never lost 4 out of 5 before and he wants his season over.Be interested how Levy reacts to this probably promote Mason again.Could be that Winks gets more time than he should since Mason was added to coaching team

You are up and down like a hookers knickers….one week we are great and improved, the next week we are the worst team in the world and it’s all terrible. At least Felon, despite the fact I don’t agree with his deep level of negativity, has stuck to his guns and will die on his sword of pessimism rather than accept we played ok/have improved our performances over JM and Nuno.

IMO, we should never have lost to Burnley but we played pretty well…trouble is a few things fell directly into Burnleys favour including the conditions. Nobody disagrees with the fact we have a few players that are not good enough but that will be addressed in the summer. Constant moaning about Conte not staying from fans like you and the insistent press reports who try and engineer stories out of nothing to create news will only put pressure on Conte. Paratici and Conte are the very best we can get and we have them…as long as Levy gets behind them in the summer, we will be a very different proposition next season.
