Plenty of things that could've/would've/should've happened.
I think over all was a fair result.
And before kick off with the line up I'd of taken a draw all day.

Should kane have seen red? Probably
Should Pool had a pen? Probably
Should their 2nd be disallowed? Yes
Should we have finished our chances? Yes

On the balance of play could've gone either way.

Least we put up a fight for the 1st time in ages which was good to see and didn't capitulate.

Let's go smash West Ham on Wednesday.

I am a great fan of Klopp but am disappointed with his whingeing after the match today .Grow up and accept swings and roundabout happen.Kane should have been sent off but their second goal should not have stood and these incidents happen to every team from time to time.He did not mention that spurs missed at least 4 gilt edged chance’s.Mind you the idiot Rednapp gives the same drivel

Well we have managed to exit Europe with our heads held high??thanks to uefa.Nothing will be said about the appalling performances under Santos .

Again I'm not sure anyone truly cares

Don't get me wrong... Europe is Europe... and we should be qualifying every year

But for a club like Spurs,,, regardless if we haven't lifted anything since 2008... winning this trophy would have been equal victory... equal embarrassment

It has the same prestige as the Audi Cup for most supporters…it’s a bit of a joke competition that does nothing other than stretch squads and build air miles to random locations. I hope they dont bother appealing because we can focus our efforts on domestic improvements and if we do sign some players, use the ever increasing fixture pile up to give them games.

Same players, different approach and the improvement is night and day. Yes we need players but that performance shows that the players we do have are capable of so much more than they have shown in the last 2 or 3 years. Roll on January because with some new additions, things are looking so much more positive. Tonight had pressing at the right time, collectively and despite surrendering possession, we played in the areas that we wanted with really no threat at all. Great performance and excellent result again.

Much better running stats since Conte took over and it shows.Bergwin showing at last but still Dier for all his improvement still makes the P*** poor clearance for their goal. But let’s enjoy the best football for 2 years and look forward to the Jan window

We still could do with an improved spine. Dier is too inconsistent and on too many occasions a massive liability. MF could do with someone with an engine but that has more quality on the ball (especially with forward passes) and I would really like to cash in on Kane while we can. Levy must back Conte because now is the biggest opportunity to move forward and it’s all on him if he doesn’t take the chance.

Players looking leaner and more enthusiastic is all I'm seeing.
The football is still atrocious and we desperately need to invest in some quality if we want to genuinely improve.

We've already improved... and the football is considerably different

Any ass clown could figure that out

    Astute

An athletic technical wrecking ball with good passing range in midfield would be a significant asset

Dier is very good centrally in this formation... I'm with Conte on this... but yes still prone to error. If he wants to be world class... as the manager suggests he could... then he needs to be perfect just about every single week

Don't forget Romero... one of the best you could possibly find for this setup... is a major loss in our defence presently

No he's not he caused the goal yesterday coz he's a donkey.
    He's an awful defender.

I can only think Conte is playing mind games to try and improve Diers confidence as don’t get me wrong, centre of 3 at the back is absolutely his best position but he is nowhere near good enough to be considered world class. I think the fact that Conte wants another 2 x CB demonstrates that point because Romero starts before anyone else at the back all day long.

I think given the number of players we could get rid of, for the time being, getting Dier to play reasonably well, especially as part of squad rotation in cup games etc would be a great result. Dier can pick a good pass and can sometimes be a decent enough defender but if, by some kind of miracle we are able to sign De Vrijs and De Ligt, those 2 along with Romero start all day long because his inconsistency and hesitation stand out more than his good points.

  14. jose's Ghost Guest

Oh I'm not saying he's world class... obviously he's not

But I agree with the manager... he's got all the tools to be... good size... pace... technical ability,,, and he's entering his prime

Concentration/confidence has obviously been an issue at times... so you could question his mentality

But he's mostly been very good under Conte while playing a demanding position... so I think we should address some of the other positions you mentioned first before seeking to replace him

Lucky win, only won because they had 10 men. It was only Crystal Palace. Moura never does anything, Skipp is a championship player. Kane was lucky
Thought I’d try and beat the pessimists to it!!

conte still unbeaten in the league. If we beat Southampton then the match against Arsenal becomes a real 6 pointer

ps Don’t recall lloris putting a foot wrong so far this season, he had a couple of shaky moments last year but he is definitely back to a top world class keeper

For me it's not about a lucky win but about perfectly handling an easy win when we have another game in just 2 days ... and it's lucky to have could easily manage this match! Overall correct match and you have to know how to appreciate the positive spiral in which the Spurs are!

It’s a funny one isn’t it, the performance was exactly enough without being great but managed to do exactly what was needed. Good 3 points, excellent player rotation given the upcoming fixtures and yet another chance to play in the style the manager is demanding.

Giving Bergwijn and Ndombele a run seems to be a ploy as they are two who could be used as makeweights in part exchanges during January. I feel that they will both be swapped for CB’s from Spain or Italy (Juve, Inter, Sevilla potentially). I don’t think either did anything at all to add to their prestige but if we give the appearance that they are playing/first team then it could drive a slightly higher value for them. Alli & Doherty surely will also be gone based on their game time (especially when neither seem to be bothered at all sat on the bench today). Rodon was the other who is guaranteed to be out the door. If we can shift those 5 and bring in 4 it will be a brilliant window…especially with a couple of decent swaps and end of contract players being seemingly available. We really need to go all out for another decent striker and the fella from Fiorentina seems to be heaping praise and goals…trouble is £85m for him is a huge risk but not sure who else we could try and get.

I really liked the guy at Left Back (Mitchell) from Palace, I thought he defended really well and looked ok going forward. He could be one to keep an eye on pinching.

Couldn’t agree more about the Arsenal game…they are somehow actually looking good (albeit against several really poor sides recently) but that game is 100% must win for us.

Struggled today against 10 men.Offside against Kane ridiculous var measured against Kanes arm which you can’t score with.Total **** up.Today proves Skipp is far better than Hojbjerg who had a mare.Dier tried to lose the one point in extra time by his slopppy control.Ali back to his worst again. One plus to me and I never thought I would say this but Winks looked like a footballer today. We must beat Watford next up and Arsenal the following week to keep up chance of top 4.Roll on the window

Agree with most of that. Also thought Gil was better than Royal. Royal never looks likely to beat a player, always just passes it back to the player he got it from

Poor performance given the circumstances today. Couple of things though…1) offside should be from the armpit not the tip of the shoulder so the goal should have stood IMO (the whole thing is a big joke). 2) football is a contact sport and if a 6ft 7in goalkeeper catches a ball as part of a coming together with a player, it’s never a foul so that goal should also have stood. Those things aside, we had plenty of the ball after the sending off but didn’t look good prior. When we did have all the ball, we look to be missing something creatively. Really disappointing but to be fair, it’s in the middle of a lot of games and at least we picked up a point.
