I hear that the Liverpool supporters are trying to get the supporters to show their disgust by leaving one end of the ground empty tonight.I don’t know if they will succeed but it’s an idea that spurs should think about.Nothing gets to Levy more than no money coming in

It will already be empty won’t it?

If all the top sides get their way and it actually happens, I would rather be in it as a founder member than have to try and make one of the 5 remaining places.

It’s apparently worth £350m which is the same as 4 or 5 Champions League runs.

Perhaps we may finally get sold to someone wanting to be part of the “elite” group

  3. I’m not against this league in theory if we’re involved but difficult to see how it works without compromising our domestic standing

Would be sad to see an end to our involvement in traditional European football as well of course

    Strange times...

On a more reassuring note though our odds of finally winning a trophy this week have actually improved substantially

Jose lost the dressing room sometime ago with his wack man management and jank tactics

Will be refreshing to see us finally play some proper football again with our best players on the pitch

I meant Saturday when I think they are allowed a few spectators but don’t quote me.Still can’t believe that Jose’s ghost and Thfc will accept this money grabbing joke of a takeover. It won’t happen if the supporters let the clubs know they won’t accept it

  5. What exactly don’t you like about it in theory?

I’m not saying it isn’t problematic because it obviously is (particularly if UEFA dig in) but there is a massive upside to it for us as well

People are losing their minds over this and fair enough... it’s a seismic shift... but to say it is fundamentally wicked/criminal is nonsense

Some are saying it wouldn’t be financially fair to those not involved... but what exactly is fair in modern football? getting bankrolled by oligarchs and shiekhs to the point where others can’t compete? clubs selling their own TV rights? Financial fair play has been proven a joke... and FIFA/UEFA have a long history of corruption. The 2022 World Cup is still going ahead right?

It is a power play no doubt and should it go ahead it could prove costly in the long run but I actually admire Levy today (with more than a hint of irony)

After sacking Jose I’ll double down on that

My opinion is that the club missed an opportunity of a lifetime employing a world class coach with a winners mentality and didn't back him sufficiently when he needed a top class centre half which we all could see. And now law and behold where is the main issue. Yep centre half. Then when you hear of discontented players which is obviously winks who imo has never been good enough and the other being alli who was on a downward spiral prior to Jose. Players out of favour will always kick up a fuss obviously and when that player is one of the main characters you have problems. They get into other players heads. What do you do with that player you remove said player. Tottenham knocked back numerous loan bids for alli from PSG. Why? Because levy so him as an asset and was edging his bets for when mourinho may go. What kind of msg is that. Pogba should have been removed. Notice how Jose very rarely has issues with the proper pro players at clubs. The ones he can rely on.

When siding with the likes of Sissoko Aurrier Winks Alli etc you know you're backing the wrong horse until these dead beats are forced out the club expect this to be an even longer more painful rebuild than 1st expected.

Kane sent a glowing message on Twitter to Mourinho also did Son, because theyre proper players with the correct mentality shame most of our fans would rather entertain the feelings of absolute toilet players instead.

I am amazed Jose’s ghost that you can’t see what’s so wrong with this.Year on year off playing the same teams with no relegation to worry about . This would suit Levy as he won’t have to spend money. What gives a poor team like the current spurs team the right to join this elite competition this applies to Arsenal as well. The competition left behind will gradually fade into oblivion while the greedy b******* become richer. This is an American take over and should be rejected by every self respecting fan

Why was a world class coach sacked by 3 successive clubs including 2 who had money to burn and at both those clubs the atmosphere was toxic

  10. Pogba is one of United’s best... they’re doing fairly well last time I checked... why exactly should he have been removed?

Jose is a terrible man manager and there is a long list of class players who would attest... Ramos, Ronaldo, Hazard, de Bruyne and Pogba to name just a few

I doubt Winks had much to do with it... rather Jose’s handling of Bale and Alli and Alderweireld to a lesser extent would have contributed significantly to sending him on his way (all of them Spurs best at their respective positions)

He’s not a great coach anymore and hasn’t been since 2010... the idea that he’s something special now is a myth

Add the fact that his football is dreadfully painful to watch and it is a relief that he is gone

  11. Kane sent a glowing message? you impress easily. Kane said the bare minimum and only because he’s a model professional

Read what he wrote to Pochettino upon his exit if you want to know what is gratitude

Felon I seem to remember Kane sending a glowing goodbye to Pochetino as well it’s just the way an England captain should behave so don’t try to make it out as any thing else

  14. Isn’t this the case with modern football as it is? success is predicated on money... and wealth breeds wealth

We’re involved because we’re one of the richest clubs in Europe... though still a minnow compared to some... the competition would make us significantly wealthier

It is not meant to replace our domestic season but rather expand upon our European involvement... almost 20 games guaranteed a season against Europe’s elite. You have no interest in seeing that?

There would be some variation in our opponents by the way... the league is to be split into two groups home and away... I assume that would be randomly drawn every year

I do love the concept of the Champions League and it’s qualification does add great interest to domestic leagues... but as a spectacle it is honestly quite boring half the time given all the lesser clubs who gain access. If the Super League clubs withdraw perhaps it will bring more opportunity/wealth to those who never qualify presently?

You are correct... the notion of a closed league is mostly an American concept but it works well enough when there are many teams involved

The idea has been around for some time... if it’s going to go ahead (which is still highly doubtful) then best we be a part of it otherwise the club truly will never amount to anything significant again

Notice how fergie was allowed to rid of far better players than pogba. Managers need full control of dressing rooms. Poch fell out with a host of players.

I'm not sad for JM as I think his selections, tactics, and style of play, really tired everyone this season. probably he himself.
But I just don't think he had good enough players at his disposal to play his trusted formation.
    So we move on.

Interested to see who Mason considers to be his trusted players....
I hope that doesn't mean his mate Winks in at CM.....
but he may course play Hojbjerg & Winks as 2 sitters.....a defensive back 4.....with Son, Kane & Bale up top and Alli behind.
(if we are open to guesses :D)

NB..... my guess is based on DL having a word with him.
Maybe Mason will find it difficult to sit on the bench with DL's hand firmly lodged ;)

He will bow down and throw in alli and Bale and will get taken to the cleaners.

Don't speak sense or truth on here Fran

  19. True... Mason will be on a short leash

I do think the side mostly picks itself though... which made Jose’s persistent oddball selections even more difficult to comprehend

What wel see from Mason is gonna be a matey chummy you lot do as you please approach.
What wel see is the players whove failed 2 managers now have a little cheer up but ultimately continue to fail because not only is there too much poor quality but they have a poor losers attitude.
What wel see from the Jose out lot is absolute silence when he picks the same players that Mourinho did because - they're the players we have to pick from.
But itl be a happier spell coz the whining and crying will stop for now.
