We only nearly got a point because West Ham sat back second half and we at last put some forward thinking players on.In the first half we could have been more than 1 down.If we had of been 1 up at half time we would have sat back as normal.I wanted Mourino in just as much as you felon because I thought he could at least make us hard to beat but unfortunately the reverse is happening and he is not even prepared to take any responsibility for it .Players have got older and need replacing but that is the same in most teams in these unfortunate times. The squad is weak but surely Jose had something to do with the additions in the last window which has produce two out of seven first choices. He was full of praise for the squad when he came in even saying they could challenge the top boys now he throws them under the bus to protect himself and no other manager does that. When did you last see the smiling joy from Son which I believe has been knocked out of him by the way he is asked to play.Do you think Chelsea and united have gone backwards or forwards since they sacked him

90m for 9 players , is nowhere near enough to improve a 1st team let alone a squad.
But you can all live in denial it's a great team and squad that isn't the dregs of a busted regime propped up with hand me downs and begged borrowed stolen rebuild levels of investment.

As I say this isn't me saying it's all great and that JM is great or doing a brilliant job it's just giving an objective look at the situation.

Yesterday Jamie O'Hara's resolution was to play Doherty Tanganga Davies & Reg as the defence from now on , that would get battered worse imo than the clowns but each to their own.
If the pack hasn't got much quality doesn't matter how it's shuffled.

If JM got the sack I wouldn't be losing any sleep over it but if people r that deluded to think someone else comes in with Kane n Son looking to go n think Naglesman who's scout couldn't work with levy , or Ralph Hasenhüttl or whoever else fits the profile of what people really want the 2nd coming of Poch so we can pretend we have a philosophy that's building to nothing again with an even worser squad than the previous 2 then they're sadly sadly deluded and will soon realise that.

But for consistency I wanna see the same get him out energy when we're still in mid table else it's clearly been an agenda from the off that reeked of hypocrisy

I did see Jamie o,haras comments and laughed it just shows how opinions differ and this from an ex player.I have never said we have a great team so I don’t know why you said that but it is better than we are getting. Not a top Four squad I admit but we do have attacking players who are shackled.Defensively we are cack and this should have been priority but Jose loves Dier and Sanchez.City went out and strengthened their back four and pep rejuvenated John stone so Nathan Ake sits on bench .we should have gone for him.not a centre forward that Jose won’t play although he was his choice

Try reading Ian Herbert in Mail on line where he questions the right of Mourino to blame the players when he is presiding over serial decline and says he is yesterday’s man who makes star players worse not better

There's plenty of players in that club that need blame put their way, you've seen their attitudes over the past 3 years they're an utter disgrace.
Barely breaking sweat, barely a sprint being made, passing with the enthusiasm of someone that just wants the final whistle to blow so they can go home. Defenders that can't do basics, a Captain keeper that doesn't talk breeds no confidence or leadership doesn't command his box, midfielders with a passing philosophy of don't give the ball to me you have oh sh;t I've given it away again, a forward line that lives off a goal scored once in the farmers LG 4 years ago but still got a contract that runs til 2024 so have the freedom to carry on half hearted.

Half of these spineless error prone bang average losers think they're doing Spurs a favour when the reality is they're not fit to wear the shirt of Tottenham Hotspur they're just products of ENIC Fc all show no substance playing in the all the gear no idea stadium.

So an upcoming match, unlikely to be stressful but should still be taken seriously.

Vinicius to start? (Son and Kane rested?)
    Winks & Sissoko for CM?
Lamela doing the inverted winger on the right?
Doherty the overlapping FB on the right?
Dier & Sanchez to keep the same pairing from now on in? (Rodon isn't in the EL squad, Toby to be rested?)
Reg needs match-sharpness so start on LB?
Alli or Moura to be supporting Vinicius?

Possibly a time to let younger players play, as far as I can tell the younger players who are closest to getting to start are all defenders & that happens to be the area where Spurs have the most fringe-players. It is probably better for the wingers and CM to be out on loan and playing regularly than getting a few minutes in matches such as this. Wouldn't mind seeing some youngsters anyway.

While agreeing that our squad has been allowed to fester with championship quality players I can not for the life of me see this blind faith in a manager who has all the qualities of our players .Once good but now a busted flush.we do need a complete restock of players but please if this happens don’t let Mourino anywhere near them.Man united and Chelsea. Sacked him for a reason and his comments about himself have made us a figure of fun.He gets some players in that I assume he helped pick and then destroys their confidence by not playing them ie Vinicius Bale Doherty but continues with Dier a nd Sanchez who are probably the worst centre back pairing in the premiership.your defence of this man Felon is almost as bad as the previous managers fan club.Just to say I don’t mind him leaving vinicius and Doherty out as they ain’t good enough but why did he want them in the first place or are you saying that it had nothing to do with him and they were levy buys.
Let’s be honest the club is in a mess and until we get a sugar daddy to buy out Eric it is likely to last

I suppose I'm piggy in the middle in this spat - no question in my mind that Pochettino had to go, but whether appointing Mourinho as his successor was anything more than a ploy on Levy's part is distinctly questionable - he presumably thought £15 million pa was cheaper than buying the dozen or so new players we clearly need, and hoped for the miracle that shows no sign of materialising. I don't understand Mourinho's negative tactics against even the feeblest PL opposition, or his constant shuffling of the defence, but the truth is that we're running on empty, and only a massive injection of much-needed quality into the squad will get us back to our 2017 strength, let alone make us serious title contenders.
Where I'm completely in Felon's camp is over the abuse heaped on Mourinho by fans and media alike, compared to the easy ride given to Pochettino throughout his five years at the helm. Mourinho 'throws his players under the bus', as if he's personally to blame for the endless stupidity of so many overpaid international footballers, whose delicate egos couldn't possibly be expected to cope with criticism - I'd be happy if he tasered the next fool to concede a needless penalty or cheap yellow card - a few more sticks and stones are just what they deserve!

I think you are missing the point about throwing players under the bus .I have no problem with him telling the players they are **** but don’t say that there are problems at the club he can’t coach .Come out and tell us what and don’t talk in riddles especially after telling any one who will listen that his coaching is second to none..He is playing games to protect himself.Pochetino did become a liability but he never told the world he was the greatest coach in the world

I'm no fan of Mourinho, I respect what he's done in the game and I want managers at spurs who are committed to winning Trophies.

    Is it working out? No
Will he get the sack? Probably
Will it be of any dissapointment? No
Will we still have a sh!t squad? Yes
Will that be the next Managers fault? No
Will he be treated like JM? No

With regards to these players we've heard that Pochettino had no say but was very happy with his squad but completely blameless for sh!te purchased.
But now every player bought is JMs and he's been backed more than Poch.

It's pure and utter agenda BS grossly twisted to Trombone Poch and condemn JM n I'm just pointing it out.

Again 100 games of dross 2 managers sharing the mediocrity it's the squad.

And u can waffle on about why isn't Vinicius playing or Rodon or whoever else you wanna pick from the pack but they are NOT Top 4 standard players, they're back ups who people want to now start because the starters r so bad.

We have the same investment in players as Brighton over the last 5 years and you're genuinely baffled as to why we're not playing expansive football dominating everyone and top of the league.

People need to take the rose tints off, the hate tints off and look at the situation objectively.

We're at yet another crossroads where we have 2 options.

1 get to the end of the season pray we win the Europa, hope we can muddle some form together in the league n league cup then back a winning manager properly.
2 same as above but instead sever ties and bring in what people really want a pochalike in Naglesmann so it can fill the huge void in their lives, not back them and watch them try to coach Dier n Sanchez or possibly some fan faves like Rodon and Vinicius into being title challengers.

But even the best coaches in the world don't coach sh!t to be better they buy better players to play how they want them too n if they don't cut the mustard they're gone.
At spurs we give duds contract extensions then blame the manager because an international CB doesn't know how to head a ball.

Why have you mentioned Vinicius as a title challenger in reply to my post as you would see in my previous posts I have said he ain’t good enough.Rodon I don’t know because he does not get a chance to show us.But let’s leave this subject because we will never agree and will keep going round in circles. We move on to the Farmer boys tomorrow and should get a big winfor confidence????

Statistically JM is still the greatest living coach in the world. It will take Pep and Klopp some time to overcome JM. So he is being correct at the moment.

JM should have never taken MU job. He stepped in the turd right there. He was right about shitty squad there and after MU invested 400 million they are doing much better now. Spurs are still a better group than MU under JM, but we need at least 200 million to get a better players. Mou will not get that money. The money will come after Son will be sold, but JM is likely being gone by then.

Not relevant to what JM said.
If I was JM, I would answer the question "Why your team lost?" with "We lost because the opponent scored more goals than us." In case of WHU game that would be a 100% correct answer. Could work well in other instances.

  15. Spurs’ season is teetering on the brink but I would think it foolish to sack Jose at this point as the rumours suggest. We’ve endured so much already it’s only right we should see it through to the end

There is still time to right the ship of course but the noose is being readied just in case I would think. Whether Jose survives to see next season will no doubt come down to a handful of games

I’m not sure a mid table Carabao will save him. A mid table Europa (and thus Champions League) would

You have to say that so far Jose has been a disappointment this term... that is a perfectly fair assessment

I had high hopes that he’d learned from his time at United and his ignominious exit from Chelsea but it’s always difficult for an old dog to learn new tricks

In true Mourinho style it wasn’t pretty but Jose managed to grind out the 4th best league record after he took over last term. We strengthened in the off season with three good/very good starters and some much needed depth. Yet after a very promising start results wise the wheels have completely fallen off

You have to ask yourself why... because something is not right

Have his defensive methods which are designed to wear down the opposition worn out his own players first? Has his obsession with magnifying mistakes in his post-mortems and pulling players at half time instilled a sense of apprehension throughout the majority of his own squad?

You have to say his man management has been suspect... and in the case of Bale and Dele downright poor. You can get away with that when managing very rich clubs with numerous expensive options but not so much when the alternative is Steve Bergwijn and sacrificing your best central midfielder as an AM. Players in general don’t respond to that

It seems after six to seven months he’s seen the error of his ways... but will it be too little too late much like many games this season where we only throw caution to the wind when everything appears lost?

I wouldn’t put it past him winning the Europa. There are not any great sides in it and the players are good enough. For Jose it may just be a necessity

I doubt your assumption that the players are good enough to win the Europa when they struggle to win against Fulham and Brighton .we shall see .Team selection to night usual rubbish in midfield Winks and Sissoko and the centre half phenomenon Dier playing again .

It makes you think, how different could this season have been at this stage if we had of used Vini when Kane was out instead of playing other players who are not CF’s.
We also look way safer at the back and. Toby plays.
What a player little Dane looks to be too...he looks like he has the world at his feet

Good win and nice to see Ali and Bale showing some form but don’t Get carried away as they were a poor team who left space we will never get in premiership.Still not convinced as you seem to be by Vinicius.I know he scored 2 goals but looks yards of the pace although he does come alive in the area but his link up is not very good.Must say as an aside I watched city play tonight and must admit it’s a joy and how I miss this type of football

  19. THFC Guest

I am not convinced by Vini yet but at least he is a CF who seems to know where the goal is when he plays.

I can’t understand starting Moura or Sonny as a lone forward when you have him as an option

Good win, a bit lucky that Dier didn't get sent off. Alli and Son might rotate now depending on opposition. Bale is showing his class. The drop off in the press in the second half seems to happen no matter who plays, good to see the youngsters come in and do it.
