Spurs goal differential is second best in PL. Long balls or short Simeone always plays on counterattacks. My point is Atletico are as hard to watch as any defensive club. But good results make it much easier to take.
I do not like that style, I was a Poch fan, but it is perfectly legit and can bring results, as JM has shown in his career, as Simeone shows and even Tony Pulis has. That style of play will always have difficulties against the clubs at the bottom of the table playing same way and refusing to open up.

Fair call...I hope we do get some results soon because it’s a short gap between 3rd and 9th :)

Its not I can't see anything wrong or that everything is great, I just don't understand how people can quite clearly see that we are missing absolute sitters and giving away some of the cheapest goals going yet blame the Manager.

My judgement on JM will be once he has his own team not the worn out dregs of the last 1 and the beg borrowed stolen reinforcements he's scrambled together to plug massive holes.

As for Kane being changed and it's not down to him being a poor player - he's currently breaking records for G/A so I'm not quite sure what point you're trying to make.

Am I a fan of the style? No
But I'm willing to give a Manager that's won more Trophies than the club itself some credit and time and not be completely deluded into thinking we have the best squad in the league and should be tonking everyone 4-0 and never drawing or losing or else it's meltdown time.....

If you have a stockpile of players that no matter how the packs juggled leaves 5 good players supported by 6 circus clowns then that's a personnell problem and will be for any manager current or incoming. If you can't accept that it's clear it's an agenda against JM which there has been from day 1 in this fanbase.

Mourinho didn't miss a hatrick of clear chances v Fulham, nor did he get turned or out jumped for the equaliser, we had more than enough to win the game much like our other dissapointing results this season.
That's on the players yet they seem to be blameless for results & performances they're just under instruction or shackled.

    The crazed hatred is bonkers

Chelsea struggled to beat a 10 man Fulham yesterday to nick a 0-1 , perspective is needed when poo pooing these smaller sides as cannon fodder because the league isn't like that this year.

At last we go forward.for most of the game and ndombele has great game and scores wonder goal.Nervy moments when we allow another headed goal because Dier and Davies can’t get off the ground.Rondon looks promising and should be given a run.The substitutions look like Bale is not convincing Jose and Gedson on the bench instead of Dele looks like he is on his way.Did we miss Sissoko and Winks definitely not.???

I'm worried the players aren't listening to José they've taken things into their own hands and won against his wishes.....

I'm sure Andy Gray (commentator not player) is on some channel saying of NDombele... 'take a bow son'
    cracking finish

interesting that we played 3 at the back.... effectively 4 in midfield and 3 up top.....away today but not at home against Fulham.
is JM seeing the total defensive game issue??
Lets see what he does against Liverpool.....

They listen, but do as he does, not as he says. If you don't go forward, as he asked, you will play next tie. If you turn the ball over on Spurs side and concede , you will warm the bench next game.
Although we got 3 points, Spurs were poor, turning the ball over cheaply in 2nd period very much same way as previously.

It's no coincidence that when there's no Winks or Sissoko we have more of a say in the midfield

I don’t think even Jose could go defensive against a team with one win all season but I agree with Spurporter that we still turn the ball over too easily..Today we played the way our manager wanted us to the same as we do when he wants us to be defensive and drop back?Felon says did they go against Jose’s orders if so why have they not done it before you can’t have it both ways.Must say we were more entertaining today than man versus liverpool

Hmmm did Jose pick out usual formation today? The same formation that he picked against Fulham? Or did he actually set us up to give us a chance to attack? Good on him going 3-4-3 as it was a much better performance...hopefully he does it more often now because we don’t need 7 defenders against sides like this

Bang on...much better performance but still not brilliant in the second half as could have been punished by a better side

agree about Winks.....Sissoko perhaps less so in general but agree in this game. (we might his steel alongside Hojbjerg against a better team).

I think one advantage with 3 at the back for me is it meant that Reggie & Aurier had to be managed by their midfield. usually we play 3 relatively tightly.... and the oppo can sometimes manage that with 2 midfielders.
Today we were man for man and had better players.

Against a better side perhaps Sissoko sits in with Hojbjerg... and Ndombele sits behind Kane and Son

NB....also I think Davies plays better in a 3. If you replaced Dier with Toby...... Toby, Davies & Rodon would be fine....especially with covering FBs ahead of them

  14. Remarkable that we’ve just had a player score perhaps the goal of the season... certainly the best midfielder I’ve seen at Spurs in many a year... a truly sublime natural talent... and yet there are people here who would prefer to self-flagellate over Jose instead? after a win against perhaps the worst side in Premier League history?

Each to their own... but seriously

Take a bow Leicester’s scouts...a lot can be learned from how they identify players from lower English leagues who clearly have the ability to play at the top level and don’t cost crazy money (unlike Chelsea who seem to have bought on FIFA 20’s player ratings)

  17. I’d consider Ndombele a proper central midfielder though he’s mostly being played as an AM... which I think is a mistake. He’s better utilised in a deeper role as was the case on the weekend.

In recent times Modric is the closest parallel in terms of pure talent I would think. Bale and VdV were more forwards than midfielders in my mind but there is an element of semantics in saying that... particularly with the latter.

But in terms of the whole package... technique athleticism flair vision... the lad is freakishly good... and will only get better.

  18. Haha perhaps true

Some guys just need a chance... like Vardy and Charlie Austin... but the odds are low

Difference between Leicester & Spurs is that Leicester have 4-5 top players supported by a squad of solid standard players, whereas our 4-5 top players are propped up by a Circus.

Based on what I’ve seen of them, they seem to have a knack of hunting out top quality FB’s and an eye for spotting players in lower leagues who are more than capable of being part of a PL squad. Add to that the overseas players they seem to scout suit the PL well, they have indeed built a really impressive squad. I think you are right that the difference is we have 4 or 5 top class players but they have 10 really good ones. Credit also has to go to Rodgers who seems to have them playing and coached really well. Bigger threat than I thought they would be this season....
