Was 2018/2019 a season where Spurs played exciting football?

I disagree and so does Jose (and the statistics). Aurier is a good crosser of the ball generally... that is not his issue.

I think your expectations are a little out of whack. Until TAA the most ever assists by a fullback in an EPL season was 11... lastly by Baines who took all of Everton's set pieces. Aurier has 5 this season... you're suggesting he should have 10? Almost double TAA from general play? (half of TAA's 12 this season have come from set pieces which are patently an advantage in accruing assists).

Aurier clearly has defensive responsibilities like any fullback... indeed it is his numerous defensive errors which have drawn him all the criticism. I think he has 9 assists from his 55 league starts for Spurs which historically is quite a good return... certainly better than Davies who you recently suggested had a decent delivery (which is true).

 

A win over the scum makes the weekend the best but don’t be sucked by in by it. We still looked bitty but apart from Aurier the defence looked more solid.Still don’t know what Moura gives us ,.Thank goodness Arsenal have more mistake ridden defenders than us.Just hope all the optimists don’t come on here and say it’s the start of big things to comebecause it isnt

If West Ham get relegated that would give me something to celebrate out of this season.

Spurs played well, they were better and deserved to win. Plus, Oliver was impeccable. JM may take a credit for his highly advertised disappointments with him.

Moura was arguably MoM for Spurs, so I am not sure where dissatisfaction with him is coming from. He does have bad games, but should he's been consistent PSG would have kept him. I don't hope anymore, but won't be surprised if Spurs win the rest.

 

So just to clarify...

When Spurs get good results it's because of Jose and when Spurs get poor results it's because of the players?

It's funny how some people who call themselves Spurs supporters, seem to see hating Arsenal as more important to their identity than anything else. Sir Henry Norris and Herbert Chapman were both dead last time I checked, and the injustices of their move to Highbury and stealing our Division One spot were more than a century ago, even before my time, so shouldn't the state of Spurs be more important than an ancient rivalry? At the moment, both clubs are so far off the pace that it puts me in mind of Dr Johnson's put down concerning the disputed precedence of a louse over a flea - which one are we?

And fair play to the players yesterday they actually put in a decent shift for once.

 

Mourinho builds a fortress at home which is the foundation of any top side , the away results then build with confidence from this.
I'm just pointing out for those that think he was a terrible appointment and is a dinosaur etc that he's actually slowly getting on with the job and clocking up points with a poor side that was in free fall.
He needs a good summer transfer window and next season to be judged fairly, not given a circus and hounded about what the performances are like.

You missed the point again spurporter if you read my post again you will see that I was happy we beat the scum but warned against thinking that that made us world Beaters again.As for Moura we will have to beg to differ .Yesterday was one of his better hard working days but his end product is missing although he did produce a couple of good balls.Man of the match
aldy best defensive display this year and a mention for Sanchez who after a couple of disasters recently had a fine game.I am afraid that people who jump for joy after one victory over the poorest Arsenal team I can remember are not seeing the long time.Nobody more than me wants to see our great club back with the big boys but I am a realist one swallow does not make a summer

 

Anyone else believe that Vertonghen would strengthen Arsenal if he went there? Or that he would strengthen Chelsea if he went there?
