A match that could have been lost (it didn't look offside to me) and could have been won (Alli could have done better on a few chances).
The decision-making at the back didn't look great. Foyth should not have tried what he did for the first goal, Alderweireld probably should have tried putting out the ball for a corner for the own goal.
Foyth seems talented but talent often comes with arrogance.... I believe that either he listens to the manager, coaches and senior players to improve his decision-making or he looks likely to continue to do risky things at the back. Get him to listen or send him out on loan so that he gets to see the results of his risk-taking or possibly even sell him.

I've read a few posts on different sites criticising Mourinho, and blaming him for our continuing shortcomings, as if Pochettino's departure cleaned the slate, and left Jose with everything needed for a top four and a trophy or two. This team is Pochettino's, and many of its failings are his, the decision to sign Gazzaniga (his mate's son from Murphy) instead of Lopez (now a full Spanish international with Roma, who signed him for a reported £20 million two years after we rejected him) being only the latest of his mistakes to come back to haunt the club. For the past two years we made top four only because our rivals were as shambolic as we were, but doing it a third time is really going to be a stretch, and if Mourinho thought managing United to second two years back was his greatest achievement, it'll be nothing to getting top four with Spurs!

Away games cannot be taken for granted and the key is to get something points wise out of the game.
As it stands spurs are 5pts of top4, i still think it's possible because the teams spurs are competing with are all losing games. The team that gets top4 will be the one who can put together a 10-12 game unbeaten run at the moment none of the teams look capable of doing that, so it's going to go down to the wire 66 - 70pts should get top4.

Jm has given every player a chance and i am sure that he knows the ones who are not up to the standard.
Foyth is not a Cb for me, it's interesting that he plays Rb for Agentina, maybe spurs should try him there.
Playing verts with so little rest was a recipe for disaster, he's a good player but he's getting slow, he'll be 33 in the summer, time to find a younger model.
What disappointed me was the lack of wide penetration Sess didn't want to take on or get behind his marker and played safe, Moura, Lamela all went narrow and serge's delivery was awful. Spurs really missed the direct running/dribbling of son and i would suggest spurs start looking for another wide player to complement Son. If Sess is going to play in such a conservative manner then he might as well play LB. It was so nice to see a midfield receive the ball in tight situations and drive the team forward, Tanguy was very good and will get better when spurs buy a quality Dm to play next to him. COys

Except for better English, Mourinho is not much different than Poch. The new gaffer boost was obvious, but once it's over, Mou plays what MP would have. Since Pochettino was a great success at Spurs, his mistakes are something that only Cheshuntboy notices. Mourinho losses, therefore, are much more irritating to most, which should be expected. I think JM has turned things around as much as he could, now it is time to exercise some patience and to see what January and summer will do. COYS!

Form table since JM took over has us joint 2nd (3rd only on GD) with only City n Pool having done better.

Some people have seriously lost their heads.

2 points a game is required for top 4 - that's exactly what JM has achieved, it will remain a roller coaster though .......

Spurs are apparently open to offers for Lamela. It's a good time to sell as sooner or later he will be injured again. Coys

Just seen Mourino on sky saying there will be no defenders bought in the transfer window. If this is true we have no chance of top four.Is this ego or is it Levy again either way I am disolutioned already with this attitude. It was not long ago that Mourino fell out with the man united board for suggesting they should buy a centre half which they didn’t do until after he had been sacked.Does he believe he can turn sows ears into princes or is he afraid of rocking the boat and losing Levy’s backing.I fervently believed that he would assess our squad and tell Levy what was needed.Having listened to Pochetino for two years with the same rubbish this is worrying.Maybe he is going to buy a defensive midfielder to cover the holes in defense let’s hope so or we are going nowhere fast.I welcomed Mourino wjith open arms but I thought he would be strong enough to stand up to Levy only time will tell.

Same old same old 1 down no fight defending poor Moura and Ali giving ball away for fun.Has pochetino come back??.!.the one thing I thought Mourino would bring was organisation and fight. So far neither maybe he has become out of date. The last 3 performances have proved that Son is by far our best player.Hate to say it but Lamela for Moura in second half please

The reality of just how much Levy and Pochettino allowed the team to stagnate while the stadium totally dominated every aspect of the club is becoming clearer with every poor performance and result, and blaming Mourinho is plain ridiculous. We've got two dodgy keepers, a geriatric defence, a midfield full of players barely able to stay fit for half a match, let alone a full season, and a forward line led by a player who's never recovered from his injury against Bournemouth nearly two years ago - is it any wonder we're a mess? I honestly feel sorry for Mourinho, who probably didn't realise quite how bad things were when he took the job (though £15 million probably softens the blow). Top four? I don't think so!

Surely any remaining pochetino lovers can see the mess that he and levy had created by lack of investment.I wanted Mourino in because I thought he would at least stabilise the situation but unfortunately I don’t think he understood the mess he was taking over.I am worried that he seems to be taking every thing calmly when he should be kicking backsides. We seem to have bought two duds in the last window Ndombele has talent but doesn’t seem up for a fight and that goes for Moura who couldn’t knock the skin off a rice pudding.Add that to the ballet dancer in Ali and is it any wonder we are outfought by lower teams who have passion.Alderweireld signs new contract when his form is dire and he would struggle to find another club and Mourino says we don’t need to buy defenders in the window,.If this reads as a depressing look at our current plight then it should do as I am more depressed by the current shambles than at any time since I started supporting spurs a long time ago .We had bad times but we never seemed to be able to attract the top players which with our new stadium we should now do.Today was the worst performance I have seen for the last ten years and had left me embarrassed which has never happened before

As poor as today was (like Shite Squared) these sort of performances have been running through our results since this time last year.

What a truly painful watch, alongside Norwich, the Brighton first half, all of Chelski, Bayern......a defence that can’t defend with a collection of midfield players that includes Mr. Sicknote 2019-20, Dele, Moura, Lo Celso, Eriksen - all easily pushed off the ball plus an equally lightweight Sessignon.

Truly diabolical watch and worrying times. Ok so we write off the season, settle for mid table and no Europe next season. That takes around 80-100m euros out of the revenue, easily our budget for new players.....

How about we sell Dele, buy two full backs and a left sided CB....got to start somewhere.

Can’t wait for Boro away without HK.....

Any body noticed Middlesbrough on a 3 game winning run could it be 4 come Sunday??? Surely not as that would be the final nail for this dispirited bunch and questions will be asked about whether Mourinohas ceased tobethe special one.

Mourinho hasn't been a Special One for quite a while now - all Managers have a shelf life, a very select few better than a host of others, but the time comes to them all when they don't do it anymore. He may not be totally finished but he's far from the force he was. He, at the very least, needs a good deal of time and quite a stack of money to put us in anything near a remotely challenging position once more and I just can't see this ending well. Maybe I'm being overly dark about it but I see us upper mid-table, certainly this year and possibly for a while to come. I see no improvement overall, with (briefly listing what immediately springs to mind) Dele's brother back in the side, Eriksen still totally disinterested, 'Arry not firing, Toby seemingly deteriorating alarmingly and our relatively new boys so far showing nothing at all to suggest they are any better than what we had. It isn't Mourinho's fault, the problem goes far deeper than Poch's rapid fall from grace and he must surely know now he has a Hell of a job on his hands.

I’ve said it a few times before on here and I have to say it again..We need a clear out of our defenders who quite frankly can’t really defend. From the back line I would only want to keep Toby, the rest need to be replaced. Pace and the ability to actually defend is key so when they are buying, that is what they should be looking for - shockingly given the fact their job involves a football you would expect any new recruits to be able to pass more than 5 yards as well.
Aurier, Sanchez, KWP, Rose, Foyth should be sold and keep Davies as squad player only. I think Jan has already decided he is off based on what I have seen this season.
We desperately need to sign a decent keeper and defensive midfielder as Dier is another who should be sold.
Eriksen just needs to go, I don’t know how he possibly gets any game time at all and is a complete waste of space.
Ndomble should not be played for the rest of the season and should just work 100% on fitness so he can last for 90 mins without fear of something breaking...quality player for 10 minutes then he just looked knackered.
Sessignon should be loaned out to a premier league team to develop as looks promising but just doesn’t deliver anything at all yet.
Lo Celso should be returned for a refund - why we signed him and not someone bigger and more athletic is beyond me.
Moura should never start a game as he is not the same player as when he comes on however he should come on for at least 30 mins at the end of each game.
Alli should 100% be sold while he has some value...he is so lazy and arrogant with the little flicks and tricks every week which always give the ball away. A goal every 4 weeks just doesn’t make up for the rest of the time where he just doesn’t look like he gives a **** and certainly doesn’t have any impact on games at all.
Troy Parrot must be given some games now...because as soon as Kane is injured, like he is every single season, we have no one at all to replace him other than Son.

I know I have said replace a lot of players and previously, thanks to bad buys that hasn’t worked but I don’t think we have a choice. All replacements should be established premier league players with the odd exception in midfield maybe.....we should not buy any defenders that have not played in the Premier League no matter how good they look overseas because when they arrive they are generally terrible.

On a positive note, yet again Sissoko played like he wanted to win and has more desire than 50% of the rest combined. I can’t believe I’m saying this because I really thought he would be terrible but he is consistently our best player (if only he could shoot/cross he would be the best player in the league).

I’m not sure if JM is the right man or not for the job but given what we know about the squad quality I’m not sure there is a right man until major changes to the squad occur. I think he is doing a decent job in difficult circumstances but it’s also confusing with some of his decisions around tactics and squad selections.
