you really are twisting the words and facts to make a point Cheshunt my lad! 3 accidents!!
Ramos was doing bad so he was replaced, hence Harry was chosen, not really an accident.

Sherwood was clearly a stopgap given a chance and then Poch was chosen and is whether you like it or not , one of the most sought after managers world wide currently, again no accident

that’s like saying Man City managers werent doing a good enough job so Pep was engaged by accident!

I do agree Southgate would be a really bad choice though

my preference is for him to stay and shake it up but if that weren’t the case , bizarrely, a manage I detest would probably be good - Mourinho, to at least be pragmatic and just try and win anything whatever the cost

I believe Van Gaal was courted by Levy as his 1st choice , Pochettino was a fall back plan not a masterstroke

And I agree with Cheshuntboy the only managers that have been good have been flukes by Levy after plan A failed.

Perhaps I should have said that Jol was an accident, Redknapp was an act of desperation (no disrespect to 'Arry by the way - I reckon his 'transformation' of Spurs from relegation candidates to CL qualifiers in two seasons beats anything Pochettino's done) and Pochettino was 'I need to appoint someone steady after the AVB/Sherwood episode and this bloke Pochettino's done OK at Southampton - he's not going to be expensive so I'll give him a go'.
Whichever way you look at it, none of them was the result of a considered masterplan, whereas Santini's appointment in 2004 was supposedly the result of a season-long quest, and Ramos had been courted for months, and look how brilliant those selections were!
As for Pochettino still being regarded as one of the world's top managers, we'll see, but desperation might be enough for him to get the United job (though Real Madrid is probably slipping away, with ZZ having apparently steadied the ship). As long as he leaves Spurs, I really don't mind where he ends up - Arsenal would be fine with me.

Anybody seen the pochetino press conference today where he was asked did spurs need to buy in transfer window and he replied not necessarily as he thought the present squad was good enough to turn things round.I know he has to boost the c9nfidence of the squad but does he really think he can stop the rot without replacements.I wish he could stop the bullshit. He is beginning to sound like Solskar

It's prime Pochettino circumlocution, need to rebuild in January but won't necessarily be looking to buy players.

Can't stand the twaddle he talks , he's either a very delusional self important person or a very sly untrustworthy puppet of ENIC.

His football stinks , his pressers are like watching a chameleon blend into its surroundings , the results of the last year are unquestionably poor , the transfer buisness over the last 3 has been woeful to negligent.

Just bored of it all now , projects , trophies are for egos mentality

Piss off to Madrid or Utd and tell them that see how far you'll get.

    A few comments
Firstly everyone knows that the Jan window isn’t the best time to go looking and they are usually panic buys anyway
Secondly a jan purchase will take time to implement into the team- eg Moura
Thirdly, you can’t say Poch has lost the dressing room and then complain when he makes comments that help to motivate the existing players. He may well be picking up one or two players but why advertise the fact
Fourthly, he is correct that he has a good enough team at the moment, he just needs to make it start working properly again
Fifthly(if that’s a word) - if we get tonked by Watford then I will come back on here and ask for penance :)

The starting line up smacks of desperation tbf. Back 3 and 7 changes. Again the big names retain thier spots.

Well that 1st half was abysmal again.

A goal down in 6 minutes defence like statues.

It's like watching AVB & Sherwood football blended into 1 sludge of sh;t

Voice of reason have you prepared your penance post yet. What ever the final score even you must admit that the man is a tactical idiot. We are playing the worst team in the league and he plays 3 at the back none of whom are up to the job.Kane again back to his form of 4 years ago when he was loaned out and the demise of Ali is sad to see .

Once again VAR has saved pochetino.Watford were the better team and did not deserve the handball goal that cost them.I would like somebody to come on here and explain to me why pochetino has not got the sack and don’t use the excuse that it would cost a lot of money as not finishing in the top four will eventually cost more and relegation even more.Levy has to do what’s correct for this club and get rid even if we stagnate for a while but we need urgent signings in January and I would not trust pochetino to buy the right sort of player based on his past dealings.Any
One not up for the battle should be moved on whatever their reputation and at the moment it seems only Son is up for it and that includes Kane whose work rate is non existent unlike when he plays for England. What does Southgate see in Rose as I see a player who would struggle in the championship.pochetinos starting formation was pure panic but when he changed it he took off Sanchez when Aldy was far worse.I understand that celso and sessengon are now in full training and they should be included post haste.Lets hope they fare better than dombele who is struggling with the pace and intensity of the premiership

as you may know I am generally pretty positive and look for the best in things. So with that in mind my optimistic opinion of that performance was....

just listened to pochetinos after match comments and I know he is not English but could any one understand the bullshit he came out with even going as far as to blame the loss of Lloris as for the defeat at Brighton. That match has gone and he should be in the present explaining why there is no fight in this team. How much longer will it be before Kane wakes up or he will lose his England place as has Ali who apart from the goal. Was total pants.Where oh where are our youngsters like Chelsea have .I thought this was pochetinos strength bringing on young players

Yup - of all the media myths put about by his rapidly diminishing fan club, the 'Pochettino, promoter of young talent' one is the most ridiculous. Kane was in the first team under Sherwood, only to be dropped in place of Soldado when Pochettino arrived; Bentaleb didn't last long, and only Winks has come through as an established first-teamer in Pochettino's five years in charge. Other young players get the odd domestic cup game, or warm the bench for occasional PL matches, but that's about it, and STILL the lazy journos and pundits wheel-out the demonstrable lie that Pochettino is a great developer of young talent. At the moment it's hard to see where his managerial abilities do lie, apart from being ENIC's doorman and stooge, obviously.

I was to try to read the mind of Poch then my guess is that the reason for the back five was he wanted the full backs to be free to push forward. Rose isn't great offensively (yes I know he's fast but there is more to being good offensively than being fast) and Aurier is hit and miss. The targets for the crosses would be Alli, Kane and Moura, surprisingly(?) it seems that Moura was the one who managed to get to the crosses.
The subs mostly made sense to me. Sanchez does not get away with much, or anything, by any referee. He's on a yellow so might be sent off. The opposite would be Vertonghen who gets away with almost anything. Made sense to replace Sanchez and get Son in. Winks looked very tired (seemed to get sloppy) so the substitution of him made sense to me. Alli stayed on, not sure why but since he scored then maybe/probably it was right to keep him on the field.
Other good thing was that Eriksen wasn't missed so if he is not happy at Spurs then lets part ways and move on. It was also nice to see subs coming on and having an impact on how the match was going. All in all, an improvement on the performance compared to the match against Brighton.

Yesterday was yet another painful journey at The Lane....

    1) There were NO decent performances

    2) We created NOTHING

    3) We CANNOT play 3 at the back, as it isolates both the back three and the wing backs, who push so far forward they can't respond to danger.

    4) Sanchez is NOT good enough to be a top class CB.

    5) I feel sorry for Winks, as he toiled long and hard without much help.

    6) We were playing the BOTTOM team FFS.

    7) Am I EVER going to see a MOTM performance out of Dele again?

    8) H.....what is going on?

Having not seen the Palace game, I have never seen a decent performance at the new stadium, period! If we don't beat Red Star it's going to be a very long and hard season. Poch delivers nothing of value at this time and I don't see how he can survive.....watch thi space.
