New signing Michel Vorm has confirmed his summer switch to Tottenham and has revealed he expects to see plenty of game time despite the presence of Hugo Lloris.

Vorm signed a £3.5million deal yesterday, although the club is yet to confirm the capture of either him or Spurs-bound teammate Ben Davies, despite the latter appearing in the website’s last set of training videos out in America.

The Dutchman would not join up with the side just yet as he is still holidaying after his country’s success in the Brazil World Cup, although his only appearance of the tournament came in the very last minute of their campaign – a 93rd minute substitution in their 3rd place playoff win against Brazil.

Rumours that Spurs’ interest in Vorm - and other goalkeepers such as Kasper Schmeichel and Artur Boruc – was in preparation for the loss of Lloris was blown out of the water last week when he signed a new 5-year-contract and expressed his happiness in London.

So, Vorm surely knows as well as we do that he will play second fiddle to 27-year-old Lloris, who is similar in style with the “sweeper-keeper” role.

However he has refused to admit that he will warm the bench all season:

"Every club has two top goalkeepers in their squad," the Dutch keeper told De Telegraaf.

"It suits the club's philosophy that there are two of us with Hugo and me. Especially when we see that Tottenham is active in a lot of competitions."

Current second team ‘keeper Brad Friedel has seen his first team involvement cut drastically since the arrival of Lloris, with the USA man playing 38 times in his first season but just 6 in all competitions in the season just gone.

3 of those came in European competition, which is where Vorm is likely to make his appearances.
