Latest off the rumour mill - Toby to Utd and our pick of ROJO or SMALLING plus some dollars in exchange. WHAT ???? Hey Mourinho -why not throw in Young and Herrera to make it look like we've got a bit of choice. If that's really a runner, it's well up there with the Berbatov for Campbell & cash scam that we fell for. Is that what we're reduced to now ? I trust Levy/Poch will have the good sense to not even respond to that insult.

Levy has got this so wrong! Its negligence beyond belief and will undo all the good work that has been done these past years. For a successful business man does he not understand the potential ramifications, not only in terms of product producing, and that to aide that he needs his target audience (us) on side.

I can only assume we must be skint! What other reason could there be for not investing in the foundations (players) of a very profitable business that is THFC. Although that is unlikely we had assets to flog (N'Koudon/Jannsen/Lorente/Sissoko/Aurier) so we could reinvest and almost 12 weeks to do it!

I am truly bewildered. Maybe this post should have waited until this time tomorrow but my fear and frustration has got the better of me!

OK saying we have/had assets to flog, but an asset (in my understanding) is an item of value - I wouldn't value any of that quintet too highly and it seems not many clubs, if any, do either. Hence no assets really

Fair point Mc but surely those 5 mentioned would have amounted to at least 60-70mill? and eased the 160-70k wages allowing us to invest both amounts else where?

Agreed Antony, take your point entirely; any incoming money for that crew would be hugely handy, but the point I'm making - although not very clearly perhaps - is that nobody is looking to take any of them. If they're not shaping up for us or attracting suitors, they're not really assets - although an accountant would certainly argue otherwise.

Agree Mc! Even at a reduced (N'koudon 10m/Lorente 5m/Sissoko 20m/ Aurier 18m/Jannsen 15m?) I'm guessing the problem would be their wages for some clubs at the next level below.

But me being me, I would have still shifted them out at a lose and offered to subsidise their wages if necessary! Not very Levy though.

  8. I don't know which team you were watching when Harry Kane was out injured but it wasn't Tottenham. Son was highly effective at leading the line although it was a front three in Kane's absence. There was no shortage of goals scored and to be honest Kane wasn't missed in terms of results. Spurs don't need another centre forward. Soldado, Jansen and Llorente have all flopped. Zaha would be a great addition. A player like Lingard would be good too.

Son is out for long spells this season with Asian games etc.
Seriously just because we 'coped' doesn't mean not bolstering the squad where we are evidently short is totally acceptable from the club.
City 'coped' with out Aguero for a long spell except they won the League coping we just about confirmed top 4 with a game to go.
Leaving to much to chance is just asking for trouble a proper outfit sees what it needs and goes and gets it whether that's by spending big or scouting well, we've clearly done niether and it's not good enough.

So now it's anyone's guess as to what happens today, the jumble sale commences......

    3 scenarios here-

Levy time (the turkey that voted for Christmas) doesn't exist anymore, his old played out routine isn't 'clever' or 'astute' it's egotistical and quite frankly embarrassing now at this level.
Only a plum would court a young prospect all summer watch his club go through financial problems wait for them to get a new billionaire owner and then low ball them. What an absolute plank!

So scenario 1 , we now panic buy a mish mash of players that will not improve the team one bit and end up with more deadwood on the books.

Scenario 2 , we've literally ran out of time because of the hatchet job of courting Grealish all summer and waiting to do anything about it.

Scenario 3 , we pull a couple of rabbits out the hat which at this point in time we're more likely to sign Lord Lucan as a box to box midfielder than a CL level player.

With 45 minutes to go in this window we have kept our young (3 consecutive CL qualifying) squad together. For the best part this projects a harmony within that cannot be under valued.
I hope some sort of increased contract is made to Toby and Danny, even if its just for this season.
I was always indifferent towards the Grealish signing so not a problem for me he is staying at Villa. I am also very optimistic regards Lucas. I think he could prove to be a real star! Our academy products, Amos, Skipp and Tanganga could more than do a job for us in the early rounds of the domestic cup comps.

    That's all the positive stuff!

My fear! The fact that the fans have not been placated with at least 1 stela signing, which we all know (except Mr Levy) how much of a boost it gives the terraces and equally the lack of one frustrates the terraces! An that's my fear! We need to start this season well, really well, because if we only end up with 5 0r 6 points, from our first 4 games, even less by the time with host Liverpool at The New Lane with our prime target sitting up in the directors box, the atmosphere could be damaging.

    COYS!

Have to say I'm disappointed. Whilst I hate the club wasting millions on last-minute hasty panic-buys, the challenge is to improve on last year where we were 23 points behind a very impressive Man City.
With all the will in the world, a load of shiny new contracts for existing players isn't going to buy us 1 point let-alone 23 points. Plus there's still time for players to leave (abroad)!

Lets hope Moura ets some more game time this season and proves to be the new Messiah!

So lads it all started with the word " brave " and ended with zilch .. lol , you only have to go back a few weeks to all the Bale speculation and by the last few weeks the only real speculation was about a championship player and they couldn't even pull that one off ... We'll soon have the most expensive tickets in the Prem Lg and can't invest a penny in the team .. They certainly are " brave " I'll give them that because they've left themselves wide open to a serious backlash here if things go pear shaped and it's all set up to be a difficult start when you take everything into consideration .. " Brave " they certainly are I'll give them that , it was all about interpretation ....

Burnt - with all due respect - the Bale biz was NEVER going to take off and I posted as much at the time. I can see and respect all the posts with lads saying X, Y and Z are the men we want/need but they're only fans wishes, seemingly not Poch's or Levy's so they didn't stand a chance either, really. The only firm possibility - if that's not a contradiction - appeared to be Grealish, he wasn't every Spurs fan's first choice, if a choice at all, anyway and that whole show ended a complete farce. This window was never, to my mind, going to deliver and it has turned out that way. We continue in the same cack-handed fashion as we've been doing this last few years and I think if we're not used to it by now we won't ever be. Downbeat post I know, but that's the way I see it - I'm a (very long-standing) Spurs fan after all ain't I ?

levy has now set a new record for stupidity we are the only club to not sign anybody in the summer transfer window since the premiership began.surely its time for us to show what we think by boycotting the first games at the new stadium which was built to help attract better players.Am i alone in feeling pochetino has massively let us down he hasnot even managed to unload the deadwood and don't be surprised if the Jonny foreigners come hunting our players in the next two weeks and don't believe levy won't sell for the right price

I've seen numerous blog headlines about the supposed 'betrayal' of Pochettino by Levy, but where's the evidence to suggest that he was unwilling (if not necessarily happy) to go along with the non-event TW? The comments about 'bravery' were made BEFORE the three million pound pay rise, and Pochettino knows that he's guaranteed forty million over the next five years if he doesn't rock the ENIC boat, and a fat severance if he gets the elbow before 2023, so what's to be unhappy about? Levy will be blamed if Spurs sink back to 'best of the rest' (assuming ENIC don't sell up in the near future - even a miserable git like me can hope!), and Pochettino's fans will accord him martyr status - the Messiah who was sold down the river by Judas Levy - the T-shirts are probably being printed at this moment!

Having sat through so many TW's and felt hugely let down by our investment plan, this one is truly unbelievable. Groundhog Day to the power of 10.

For those that feel disappointed, there will be those who say they re not. I'm one of the former. We've no real game changers on the bench, and rarely have had. We've no cover for Kane. We've got two players that want away left in the squad - surely that cannot be good for the team morale and bonding, regardless of whether they are professionals.

I always felt there was risk associated with this season, given the drain on cash that the stadium must be having, but did I think we'd score a big fat zero. Never.

So I'll be there against the Scousers, but I'll be disappointed DL ..... only very.

    COYS
