Kyle Naughton was a player who, although is a good/ decent BALL playing fullback (rather than athlete), was NEVER going to be good enough to usurp his namesake from that RB berth, on a regular basis.

Could he perform a back-up role however? yes

Would he be a part of MY Spurs squad? no

Anymore questions??? ( make 'em good though, eh ;))

That ain't an answer Ramos its just a denial that u said naughton was good enough for spurs yet can't hold down a spot at world beaters Swansea. There ain't no skill in what u do. Its similar to my wife who picks ten horses on the grand national and proclaims to have backed the winner all along when by chance one comes in. Papering over the fact she also backed 9 losers...
The Nostradamus scatter gun approach may fool some but the more intellectual regulars will realise that more often than not you are tipping one of the 9 donkeys I talk about.
Kyle naughton, the inspired leader fazio, Schneiderlin no better than stambouli. Jan overrated and not good enough. Kaboul an obvious choice as captain. World beater chadli. Eriksen not worth the money(10m). Ryan mason and bentaleb good enough to be the duo to start in cm come on mate its embarrassing.
Then crawl out of a rock every three month claiming greatness haha.
Anyway I'll forgive u up the spurs let's just enjoy what we are seeing and long may it continue...

    And back to the game........
I felt extremely sorry for Kevin Wimmer. The lad has done a great job and I did not think the JV would just walk back into the team. I prefer Wimmer to Vertonghen - his distribution is better, he doesn't get into wrestling matches at every defensive corner and when things go wrong he doesn't look to blame everyone else but himself. Before we forget him, let's remember who saved us in the final moments against 10-man Woolwich.

Wimmer must surely be gutted and pissed off in equal measures. One of the things you don't see is substituting of centre backs during a match, except for an injury. Was a bold call - hopefully it hasn't disappointed him too much....

Yes I agree very harsh on wimmer but can understand were MP is coming from with Jan being vice captain and his standing also form before his injury. Hope Kevin takes it well and has time on his side to establish himself as an integral starter. Hopefully Carter Vickers can push his way into contention which along with dier give us 5 very good options at centre half. Can only be a good thing for the club such strong depth in a key area.

Yea it was deff harsh on Wimmer who was settling in well ... Excellent long or short range passer , any one else think he could do the holding job if needed ... I don't see why not .... All our centre backs at the moment are so comfortable on the ball and that is so important to how we play ... I have to admit I was no fan of so called super Jan , some of his displays over previous seasons was embarrassing and his hissy fit win asked to fill in on the left due to injuries was embarrassing from a so called professional , a bit like his compatriot Dembele , he's been a diff player this year ... There is a serious shortage of quality center backs around for the last few years so I'm sure there'll be plenty sniffing around ours or their agents ... Think i read somewhere Jan was about to sign a new contract worth 50k a year , not sure how much truth is in that but thats mickey mouse money in the current climate .. What was he on before if thats true .. Let's hope we can keep them all here ... C.O.Y.S .......

Poch now has the players he wants and managed to improve those that were not working hard enough. When Lamela joined he was little more than a show pony, yet now he is aggressive, works hard and still has that bit of class when needed. As a recent blogger on another site put, he is over priced but incredibly undervalued. Not to Spurs fans of course!
Alli has been a sensation but for me Toby is the best signing. During the game on Sunday, Martin Tyler talked about Verts being the leader on the pitch. I disagree, the leader on the pitch for me is Toby. In his attitude and performances, he is our signing of the season.

What Poch has also done is make Trippier and Davies into excellent cover and has rotated as and when needed keeping everyone hungry.
The only player that has disappointed me thus far has been Son but I have seen enough to suggest he will improve with more games and increased confidence.

I will also be interested to see a fully fit Clinton. When he did play earlier in the season I was not all impressed. I felt his passing and ball control was poor, but with Poch to encourage him, he again will hopefully shine in the next 2 seasons or so.

We certainly had some dead wood. Stambouli looked okay to me but wasn't getting game time and he has impressed at Watford as has Capoue in patches.
Towensend can show flashes of skill but didn't work hard enough to fit Poch's style of play. As Ramos says, Poch doesn't suffer fools.
Kaboul has proved at Sunderland just what a poor player he is. He is often caught out of position and his distribution is embarrassing. How he was ever our Captain I will never know.
I think Mason has a place in the squad but is not a first 11 player at this point. As for Bentaleb, when he first came in under Sherwood, he showed effort where there had been none and I think this blinded some to think he was better than he is. He terrifies me when he gets the ball as he gives it away or tries a Dembele style turn which he is simply not good or strong enough to do.
Chadli gets a rough ride but he is an impact player. When he starts he doesn't really do enough but off the bench he will always get goals and every team needs a Chadli.
We tried to get Schneiderlin but to be honest we haven't regretted him going to United. In fact the only person who might reasonably regret not moving to Spurs is the player himself.

Poch wants players who add value. Those who have gone are not missed. Kaboul as Captain. I think Poch had been on the Rastafarian Old Holborn that week!!!

Hasn't really happened for Son after a promising start , the injury and time off prob didn't help but you can see the ability and attitude he has and hopefully given time it will all come together for him ... Only seen glimpses of Clint to be fair and again a serious injury took him out for a long spell ... Didn't really show much bar lightning pace in the few glimpses we had of him but like Son , hopefully it will be a diff story given time ... Hopefully at least one will have a big future for us ... It's diff for everyone of course but a lot of signings take quite a bit of time to settle into life in the million miles an hour Prem Lg and it's prob no coincidence Toby had a year under his belt at Southampton before fitting straight in here ... I agree 100% with you about Toby , he's our signing of the year , prob a bit biased but I'd go as far as he's the best signing in the league this season .... C.O.Y.S.......

I'm really not sure about Chugger Chadli. He just doesn't match the energy and commitment that characterises the rest of the team. For me he's lazy and whilst he scores key goals, can you afford to suffer his lack of work rate, for a few goals. At best a sub with 20 to go. Son - started well, nothing since. Let's hope he works hard and turns out like Lamela. I think he might get there. Clinton Who?...........lol

Wimmer would no doubt feel upset, he slotted in seamlessly while Jan was injured. This is exactly what you want in a team challenging for the title. However in the future when we are potentially playing CL we could cheekily play 3-4-3 against the top teams if we need a win.

Well done Kevin, I'm sure all supporters will remember your contributions to our break through season.

Vertonghen v Wimmer was always going to be a tough call after Wimmers performances.
But go back to Vertonhen's injury and everyone hoped his return would be days rather than weeks.

Wimmer has been superb IMO....but at this stage of the season...and the position we are in...we need our post experienced pairing at the back.....and the Vertonghen/Alderweireld pairing are that.
Pochy had to get that right for playing against a top side (which Manure are)....and he was right.
