Sorry big fran but what makes you think we can afford Aaron’s and Ake and for that matter why would they come to us when bigger clubs are interested.Given the choice if we had the money I would prefer the Norwich left back over Aaron’s.but apart from the stadium what do we have to attract players who want to win troph

Firstly aarons is a simple deal to set up isn't it. Norwich are down he will prem football and they will need to sell. None of the teams above us in particular need a right bk, he can also play left bb and will cost between 20 to 30 m depending on how much you believe corona will effect transfer prices and budgets. That will be offset by the sale of KWP for around12m as he's looking first choice at Soton now or could go Norwich as part of the deal. IF Aaron's comes in I'd expect serge to go for around 15 to 20m to ac Milan likely.
Ake will be more difficult of course and thier maybe competition but again apart from arsenal and Chelsea who really needs a left centre half other than ourselves where he will come in and play week in and out.. He will cost around 40m to 50m and that will be our entire budget unless we can shift some dead wood which again could be difficult. Rose 5m lamela 10m moura 20m foyth 8m could equate to a decent DM.
Aaron's and ake both fit our profile, price bracket, wage bill and requirements. With sessagnon at left bk and tanganga to cover across the bk4 your looking at an altogether pacier, younger and attacking defence to build upon.

I don't buy the no money routine, we'll of got all sponsorship money in, plus TV, CL money, plus a massively increased gate/match day revenue even without a full season.
Only the stupid will accept this nonsense from Levy.
This team needs major surgery it is/should be the owners primary concern now, as we are not a CL team anymore at the moment may not even be a Europa LG team.
If they want to continue to fill that stadium whilst charging top end prices then they can't carry on serving up an inferior product.
Every other top team will spend, why once again are we the only club that'll be scraping the barrel with a begging bowl.
It's a farce, pay up or sell up!

  5. Excellent assessment. Despite Toby and Jan’s decline, fullback is where we have fallen farthest since our peak in 16/17 (Dembele notwithstanding... his replacement is already at the club though not being given an opportunity).

I think Rose was the best left back in England for a couple of seasons but unfortunately never recovered from his major injury and subsequent state of mind. Davies is nothing flash but solid enough. Aurier can be very good but equally very bad... a manager’s nightmare.

Davies was never the most adventurous but I think more than that it is the system which is mostly keeping him at home while Aurier generally plays so high up the pitch. We’re more stout defensively as a result but I would think such a tactic is more easily defendable.

Think Davies was one of the top defensive assists makers two years or so ago when given licence to get forward. Has a decent delivery tbf

Aurier and Lemela on the same side of the pitch???...... with Moura assisting the defensive chaos.....
Winks struggles as it is...... without no help from 3 players

We are not playing Pool or City. No defensive chaos is expected. Winks is in good form now, reads the game well and can protect back 4 even with his tiny frame. In 4-1-4-1 system top 5 positions are not set usually, Lo can switch with Eric, therefore as needed.

What with Burnley winning we must win tonight or we face not finishing in the top 6 for the first time in 10;years.A defeat to Bournemouth does not bear thinking about but they are on their final chance to have any chance of avoiding relegation and will be fighting hard.We must attack them and not do the usual Mourinho tactic of trying not to lose because we must not give them a sniff as we seem to do to all struggling teams.A defeat to them will surely convince evenLevy that he has cocked up again in appointing Mourinho.Cant say I enjoy watching Burnley type football but every body knows his job and fights for 90 minutes which can’t be said about us and we are just as boring but with worst results

First half...... wow......not sure we even deserve to be 10th.
    Rubbish!!!

just on Burnley type football....who cares what style teams play?
And who decided that playing out from the back was the attractive way to play football??
why not get it up to the forwards and get a larger percentage of the game in the box with more shots on goal??

.......and let's ask a Brighton fan whether playing out from the back against Liverpool was a good idea!?!?

Well I did say the first half was the worst well they surpassed themselves in the second half. This is the first time since Bournemouth were in the premiership 186 games that they have prevented the opposition from having a shot on their goal.At the end it was like watching a Sunday morning match with kick and rush .No shape no idea no hope. How many crossing opportunities were wastedwith the final ball being hopeless.I know u can’t make a silk purse with a pigs ear but at least you can instil some kind of pride at least. Some players are still pining for Pochetino and surely they must be fed up with Mourinho total lack of direction..Come on Levy do the right thing get rid and hopefully go yourself

Playing from the back or punting and holding? So...playing from the back when you have FB’s who are decent and CM who want the ball is how football really should be played at the top level these days. Hoofing it in the hope that a big lad upfront might be able to challenge for a header and if you are lucky the 2nd ball will get picked up is not, even if that is JMs “proven” method of success and trophies.
We are neither blessed with decent FB’s
/CM or a big lad that can win headers and a MF that pushes up to get 2nd balls.
I think that is safe to say though that yet again based on tonight’s performance that JM has no clue how to motivate this team and how to implement a formation or tactic that exposes opposition weakness with any of the squad at his disposal using either method (or anything in between).
If you still think that things will be any different next season with JM, you are in fact, the one that is deluded. The sooner this season ends, the better. If we win against Arsenal, which is highly unlikely, who’s to say we can win the other remaining games anyway?
I have been a Spurs fan all my life and very rarely have I watched us play so badly week in and week out.
Football is about winning points, I get that but actually, first and foremost, it’s about entertainment and joy for fans. We have often in the past stuck to that idea too closely and tried to overplay and lost. However I don’t remember watching a team that is so negative and lifeless so we can get a point and accepting that.
I don’t know the ins and outs of running a huge football club without a rich owner and the stress and pressures that go along with it. It’s very easy to blame Levy and Enic but we are in very strange time’s for getting revenue in to keep the club going, especially with the huge debt of the stadium to service.
What i do know is though, if those same people think, like a few people on here do, JM is a good leader/tactician for the job at the moment under the circumstances, then that is their view. I really believe that anyone who has eyes that work properly must surely be able to see that JM is a disaster for our club...seems not to be the case though so perhaps, somehow,we are watching/interpreting things completely differently.
Let’s blame it in VAR again...that seems to be the go to excuse for most at the moment and not the fact we actually play football like a league 2 side.

Lamela.... He's too slow to be a winger, not accurate enough in his passes to be an attacking midfielder and gives away too many unnecessary fouls to be a central midfielder.

As is then it seems that Ndombele, or another player with similar price-tag as him, is needed to lift the team. He did better in that role than Lo Celso, on the other hand some times the key to have good performances is consistency and changing how Lo Celso is expected to play from match to match might affect his performance.

If fast one touch attacking football is to be played then players who can play one touch football are needed. If Spurs are to play faster football then I believe that Lamela and Sissoko needs to be benched.

When was the last time Spurs managed to play well against a team that was defending deep? Two years ago? Three?

I do not mind if long balls are played into the striker, at least it speeds up the attack compared to endless sideways passing looking for openings. The occasional long ball might make the defending team unsure of what will happen next. Mixing it up instead of the predictable.

After the Sheffield United match I said if we carry on playing like this we will be flirting with relegation next season well we’ve got even worse in the last two games so carry on like this and we will be relegated next season levy/mourinho out

we play the ball across the pitch nicely at times.
    That's it.

most of our players are simply not good enough.
I don't think it matters who the manager is with this shower of sh1te.
