Should we really have beaten Bournemouth today though with our players?

Take Johnson for example … he’s been the least talented winger on the pitch these last two games from what I’ve seen. His general play is woeful … I believe he gave the ball away 10 times in the first half alone. So while he can finish the odd move we’re getting absolute zero from that side of the pitch in terms of creativity. He appears Championship level to me … and he starts pretty much every game.

So this was a bad buy … and he is not alone. I think we only have a handful who are worth building a side around and their form is going to fluctuate. We can’t expect Deki or Maddison to be a star every game … they’re not quite that level … they need help.

I think the manager should stick to his guns … and continue to try to build his vision with the limited resources at his disposal. I admire him for that. Spurs fans calling for his head are truly deluded … are they are angry because we’re currently 10th and not 7th (our wage level)? They completely absolve ENIC with their stupidity. The club spent the off-season signing teenagers … they are not willing to put together an elite side. Any new manager would quickly find that out.

    Woeful absolutely woeful

Who'd have thought hiring a 58yr old novice and filling up the team with children in the toughest league in the world was a bad idea?

Not Dr Bald Aids or the happy clappers

Just normal people with common sense could.

    Lou Carpenter out

Amazing how there are still people on here who still think this pretender can turn it round.I believe we have been criticised for stating our opinion of him long ago.Just listened to talk sport and Jamie Ohara having a rant about set plays .Not a great fan of talk sport but Ohara was saying that spurs training for the next 2 weeks should be set plays and nothing else.I have never seen a team so lost at set plays and at both ends as this team and we have a manager who says he is not interested in coaching set plays.Does he not watch other teams like Arsenal who treat them as priority I will say it again why buy the best midfielder in the championship last year and play him at fullback and leave 2 real full backs on the bench I am a fan of Solanke for his work rate but surely we need more than 2 goals. What was the point last night of playing Johnson on left where he is worse than when he plays on right and putting Kulu on wing where he is poor.Johnson is an enigma scoring goals regularly but contributes nothing to work rate.Lets not forget that Ange must have had a say in our recent buys or did he kow tow to levy’s choice.Either way he should be criticised for poor judgement.

Hehe … nice analogy … but you’re just perpetuating the pantomime by calling for another manager. Where have you been? Jose and Conte rolled through here not long ago and met a similar fate.

We don’t have Harry Kane anymore mate. Those guaranteed 20 plus goals per year papered over a lot of **** around here. This is what’s left.

Buddy if you’re going to be quoting O’Hara then how are we supposed to take you seriously? No wonder you’re up and down like a yo-yo all the time.

    What
i dont quote Ohara regularly so don’t insult my intelligence. This was just to point out the frustration with a man who said he was not interested in set pieces. Why am I up and down because I can praise a good performance even though I think Ange is out of his depth.Thats called giving a fair appraisal.Too many on this site can’t see the wood from the trees because we play open football at times although there was nothing exciting about last nights performance.Stop trying to intimate that I am changing my mind regularly because I will praise when we play well but I won’t stop criticising when we are rubbish.By the way I am not your buddy just a fellow contributor.I have no idea what we would do if we sacked Ange because who else would want to work with Levy.So I guess we are stuck for the near future with teenagers and weak mentality players

    You’re not my buddy? Noted.

Everyone can see the forest here. We don’t have a good squad. People who call for the manager’s head are just giving strength to the owners to continue on as they have for many years.

How can calling for the managers head give strength to Levy?are you saying that he would blame the manager for all our problems an the squad is perfect and not down to his poor buying. I would love to know the truth about transfers were they all down to levy or did Ange want all these teenagers.

  9. Guesty Guest

I would say Ange is involved in the transfer of the teenagers.....
because in his experience we would be top of any of the leagues he has managed in

Of course … managers have come and gone with regularity … and good managers too … yet nothing changes. It has been going on for 20 odd years. It is obvious where the club is hamstrung … quite a few managers have spoken publicly about this.

  11. Angelos Guest

No that’s not the reason … do you see him playing all these youngsters unless he has to?

It’s an intentional long-term strategy … relative low-level investments (particularly in terms of wages) with the potential for high-level returns. Club as always looking for the cheapest path to success … no matter the time required. And time is definitely required … these boys are very green.

But the club had major depth issues last year and this was the solution?

Ange has clearly been given the directive to develop a side. If Levy was to turn around and sack him now because the we don’t get Champions League then there is no hope for the club … like none.

Ange can’t let things get out of hand of course. And he won’t unless we remain decimated for the rest of the year. Squad is thread bare at the moment … which doesn’t help when you have to play a game every 3 days for weeks on end.

Why does the man make such stupid comments. He is not worried that the fans are not behind him.Well all managers worry about that because that is the first thing that gets you the sack.some times his mouth goes off without thinking like when he criticised supporters who wanted us to lose to city so arsenal would. Not win the league.publicly ignoring the supporters is the fastest way to lose your job!At the end of the day they pay your inflated salary stick to getting a set piece coach and don’t give it to Mason

Yes you’re right about that … I’m pretty sure Nuno got sacked on public sentiment alone. But Nuno was the worst … last choice … hire. But even then … his head was given as a sacrifice to appease the discontent. But you realise nothing actually changed with club policy after that? It was just pure incompetence.

Do you really want to start again about that fixture last year? Because that was a disgrace. Spurs fans happy to give up Champions League just so Arsenal don’t win the league? That’s a pure loser mentality. But yet then you say you want to win something?

Yes Ange is bullish af. As he should be … no point pandering to these idiots who have won nothing but somehow demand the best on a shoestring. You’ve seen it all. Tell me Nicholson wasn’t as bullish af as well?

Now you’ve got a manager who is all in on the club and completely adheres with all its history and values … and you want to sack him? What … because we’re not 5th?

I’m not trying to be rude … I am just sick and tired of this endless merry go round at the club. Like if you’re going to buy youth and build a team … just frickin stick with it for a year or two.

Stick with what .we have been p sticking with it for 25 yrears?I don’t want to sack him because we are not 5th but I want him to have a different way of playing against better teams and not be so arrogant that his way is the only way.I have not heard any other manager come out with this arrogance. We really don’t have full backs good enough defensively to play his system.Great watch when we hit it off and diabolical when we don’t I believe that his uttering will be his downfall in the end.If he had not bullshitted with his I win a trophy my second year then I believe supporter would be less critical.I have said that I follow other webs and the opinion at the moment is about60 40 to get rid so not just me

I share your opinion and I would add that even if Ange has tactical choices and substitution that I don't always appreciate, replacing him will have no more effect than sticking a plaster on a wooden leg! Levy must first let go of his job and the New board have to invest more intelligently in better players before thinking about changing Managers!

I don’t actually think it’s the better teams he needs to adjust for but the ones we expect to beat. Maybe it’s a mental thing. I definitely think the lack of vdv and Romero does something, even if it’s just down to confidence among th rest of the team

whole league is weird. City held again, we are in 11th and Newcastle and Man Utd are below us

what’s the prediction for cb pairing tomorrow?
