I sincerely doubt Ange will be amused. It would be the exact opposite actually.

Ange put his arm around the lad long ago when he first arrived. Bissouma responded by playing lights out for a month or two and then reverted to his norm.

If Bissouma’s stupidity this off-season … and Bentancur’s stupidity as well … highlights anything, it is that Spurs are crying out for a gun midfielder. This should 100% be the priority before the window closes. You can’t trust the current crew in the slightest.

Just read the news about skippy going to Leicester. Getting worried now for tonight if we have to face a midfield of skip and winks!
Only kidding, loved both players effort and love of the club, they were both just not up to the level needed . Wish them well but not tonight

Please either get a defensive coach in or go.After Leicester scored there was only on team going to win and it was not us.We are dominated when the game gets physical.We are so desperate for a defensive midfielder who can hold his own when a fight is needed.Why do we strut and then lose it when the opposition puts more energy into the game.I am afraid to say it because Son has been my favourite player but he has now past his sell by date and gives the ball away for fun.Oderbet must come in now even if he is young.I can see more frustration this year with the ultimate ending for Ange

 

I would like somebody to tell me why Romero is so highly rated when he loses his man in the box so often as he did tonight with Vardy by running past him in the box.Very competitive but postionally so naive for a World Cup winner.We really should be better in defence with 4 internationals in the back four.I am fearful for this year because although it’s only the first match we look the same soft touch and the Spursy is back and running

 

Maybe it’s actually a mental coach. It seems each time we dominate and then get a goal against the run of play, the whole team seems to play scared

 

It’s called bad management because it happens too often.Can you envisage Man City or arsenal doing the same.

Create much. Poor finishing across the park. Then, like clockwork, concede goals from minimal chances (often the first) given up.

The team is not good enough. You can’t rely on two 18 year olds and a ***** who sucks nitrous online in the centre of the park.

The club needs quality immediately. The manager is not going to wait 4 years for this team to mature.

So we have started this season the same way we ended last season. Excellent performance first half but a nose dive in the second. Johnson simply isn’t good enough to start games, Son is past his best and Maddison needs to shoot. Defensively we are so poor. I don’t see the world class CB in Romero that others see. We are so often done by headers or space at the back on the right hand side and Romero is often out of position along with Porro. VDV covers but can’t do it all on his own. If Real Madrid want to pay £100m for Romero we should take it and sign Guehi for £65m or Braithwaite for £70m then sign a DF MF like Ederson to help at the back. My only gripe with Ange is that it’s obvious we need a new, specialist defensive coach to work on our collective positioning with his approach to attacking as well as set pieces. Hopefully there will be improvements in the next game and we take some of the many chances we will create

 

On reflection perhaps it was too easy in the first half with all that possession & seemed more like a training game and so everyone perhaps relaxed mentally & when the goal was conceded & sparked Leicester into realising they could compete, we then couldn’t find another gear. It should have been done & dusted at halftime but such wasteful finishing. Perhaps Solanke is not the clinical finisher we need but that was his first match & otherwise he did quite well so I’m not going to worry too much about him ……yet!

 

After watching our front 3 perform last night I wondered how many of them would get in another of the top 6 teams and the answer is none.WE PAID 50 million for Johnson and so far he looks championship standard Sonny unfortunately seems to have lost the killer instinct he used to have .Surely he can see what Vardy can do at 38.I will excuse solanke because it’s early days and I do think he will score if we provide from midfield.As for resigning Verner the mind boggles and Kulu is not a winger.Hopefully the young Odebert lives up to his reputation and gives us something different.I do question the continued teamselection of Ange when we have signed good young players and they sit on the bench.If they are not ready then why did we sign them because if it’s for the future we needed class players now or the young players will get their chance when we are mid table and this is not what Ange promised us this year.I think he under e stimated the premiership thinking he could do what he did with Celtic.

 

Johnson was a poor buy at 50 million. You can blame the manager for that. Then again, it was a very late buy in the window I believe, and numbers were lacking. Smacked of some desperation at the time.

He’s a decent enough squad player, but not worth 50 million to a club that notoriously doesn’t spend.

As for Postecoglou? Honestly, I don’t think he can do much more. He had to bring on 2 18 year olds to chase the win last night. That tells you all you need to know. This has been a pathetic window reinforcing a side that was so obviously short on quality at the end of last year.

 

This is all true. But then again, it wasn’t any different to what we saw last year either,

I expect a few players to improve this year given their age, but with the exception of some depth at one position, the starting 11 has not been improved at all.

Pretty pathetic for one of the wealthiest clubs on Earth. Just asking for trouble really.

 

Nice to see a new poster (angelos )who is not fooled by the same new season promise which as usual is a false dawn.Yes we have purchased some very good youngsters and we do have a couple of very promising home grown kids but we won’t be anywhere near top four without experience.We could have had Toney and an experienced midfielder in Locatelli but we miss out again.City throw youngsters in one at a time to bed them in as we should be doing and realise that Son and Bissouma are not good enough now.I do wonder what Ange really thinks because this week was as close to him losing his temper that I have seen

I take it you were thrilled by another collapse after conceding .last year we drew our first game the won 9 in a row We have Newcastle away the gunners at home and Man U away in our next 5 games .frighteningthought.i take it you expect us to win all these .if not we could be mid table before the season has really started.Not what Ange has been spouting about
