Bravo à toute l'équipe et surtout à Conte qui a fait magnifique travail depuis son arrivée. Pas besoin de rappeler qu'il a hérité d'une équipe qu'il n'a pas façonné à sa manière et qu'il n'a pas pu préparer durant l'été dernier ! Bravo aussi aux joueurs qui ont fait le nécessaire pour cette inespérée 4eme place ! Et bravo aussi à ceux qui ont permis à Kulu et à Bentancur d'arriver en janvier ! C'est une belle saison qui nous attend si Levy permet de continuer le travail...COYS

Congratulations to the whole team and especially to Conte who has done a wonderful job since his arrival. No need to remember that he inherited a team that he did not shape in his own way and that he could not prepare during last summer! Congratulations also to the players who did what was necessary for this unexpected 4th place! And congratulations also to those who made it possible for Kulu and Bentancur to arrive in January! It's a great season waiting for us if Levy allows us to continue the work... COYS

 

Only a friendly but at least all new players got some minutes.Spence looked better in 15 minutes than all the other full back contenders

 

Just watched friendly against Roma and I see the old faults are still there no creativity in midfield poor defending against corners.Kane useless with free kicks .when will somebody have the bottle to tell him.A right back who is useless.Lenglet looked an upgrade on Sanchez.But Roma had less of the ball but were comfortable holding on.I know it was only a friendly but we start next week and Conte seems to want to play last years team,Why have we spent if not to strenghen teamNo time for Spence who is by far the best in the club .is this because he was not a Conte choice Has Conte confused himself with the transfers

 

Quiet website seeing new season is only a week away

 

I have to admit that our lack of chances and shots on goal during the last 3 friendlies leaves me skeptical... Especially when you see Arsenal score 6 times against Sevilla against whom we hardly drew. I thought our transfer market was pretty good but I see that we need at least 1 other quality central back (pau torres?) and a playmaker who hasn't been level since Erisksen's departure! I also see that we only have one type of game tactical and if our 2 aisle players are on a bad day plus Kane (like yesterday) on a day without also then the coming season will be more complicated than I thought. Let's give the benefit of the doubt to Antonio Conte who saved us from a complicated season and even qualified us for the Champions League!

i think he was making them work for the positions and slowly bringing the others in. Last years team in the final games ended up being pretty successful so there is that as well. I do agree royal is rubbish and think Doherty will be the one to replace him

good result though and 4 goals without Harry or son getting on the scoresheet

Good result and some new boys got some minutes.I hope that the rumour that Spence was not a Conte choice does not mean he not given a chance as I believe he is a real talent.Today he was the only new boy not given minutes

 

Royale with Cheese was for the most part excellent yesterday... some of his touches looked especially Brazilian. To be perfectly fair he was very solid in the run home last season as well so credit where credit is due. He may never develop into a natural wingback but there's a reason he's been capped for Brazil... he's a pretty good footballer. You shouldn't underestimate the difficulty of settling into a foreign country particularly when you don't speak the language... the majority of players struggle with it initially.

As for Spence... he's got quite a bit of natural talent but it would be a surprise to see him light up the Premier League this season. Sessegnon absolutely tore up the Championship as a 16/17 year old but is only now beginning to fulfil his potential at the highest level 5 years later... so with Spence we should go easy on the expectations.

 

Still think he will have strong competition keep his place from “Le big Matt”!

I see we have signed a left back and loaned him back.Great for the future but21 million could have gone towards buying a midfielder he ability to break down defences

 

Unbelievable saying this considering Levy’s history butI don’t think money will be the problem getting extra players I think if Conte wants one and finds the right person, we will still be able to get him. Remember there was 150m allocated plus we haven’t really recuperated much yet from any outgoing players

 

Think the issue of bringing in another mid is more dependent on moving on the trio of winks gio and the more difficult ndombele. I'd 2 leave it could trigger a signing. Likewise if japhet and or sanchez move on.

 

Signing Udogie doesn’t preclude signing Zaniolo but it would appear Roma are asking quite a sum… very good player/prospect but not sure how much he gets on the pitch when everyone is fit.

Son Kane and Kulu all pick themselves at present… then Richy needs to play… throw in Lucas and Perisic as backup if required and we don’t really need another big money signing upfront excluding a very bad run of injuries. The cupboard is full in central mid as well.

My main regret of the window is not being able to bring in someone like Bastoni but am hoping Lenglet proves to be a good addition. A readymade top class right wing back would have been ideal as well but will have to trust the incumbents there for now.

 

Massive game tomorrow. Certainly not the end of the world if we lose but a wonderful opportunity to signal our intent this season.

Funnily enough a reporter asked our manager about the fact Spurs have only won at Stamford once in the last thirty years… to which Conte laughed. Whether the reporter knew it or not Conte was the Chelsea manager that day. So would only seem appropriate that he should now go and beat Chelsea there himself lest anyone mention that to him again.

 

we usually buckle at Chelsea so I agree…..it’s perhaps good to get this game early in the season.
If we can win (well) it will give us huge confidence

First half same old same old .totally outplayed.where are the new signings or do we have to get beat heavily before we see them..No midfield Son and Kane totally marked out of game.Piease let’s see Bissouma to add some bite.The worst thing so far is the total lack of fight and being knocked of ball so easily.Second half must be better or we can forget top four
