Strange game but we won 4-0….not sure what else you want? We did play ourselves into trouble at the back a few times and somehow managed to get a clean sheet but that’s football. As is said every week, we need players but that is not gonna happen until the summer. We have who we have and no matter how we do it, we just need the players we have to pick up results between now and then. Rose coloured spectacles could be considered belief in our squad and manager that they are better than some would have you believe. Great result and hopefully gives us confidence for the next game. Are you still sure Conte is leaving?

 

He will leave if we don’t sign at least4 class players

Nothing can justify that performance.Middlesbrough could have had 5 or 6. Not one player can take any pride from that.Some can only bow their heads in total shame.Is there a worse midfield in either of the top 2 leagues than Winks and Hojbjerg.Tonight Conte can’t escape criticism either as he is meant to motivate these players.Agreed he has not got a lot to pick from but we made a championship team look like Real Madrid

 

Further to my previous comment I have had a quick look at all the premier squads and they all have a midfielder that can create so our 2 would struggle even to get in at Norwich

 

That was a really poor performance. Son and Kane in particular were guilty of a complete lack of urgency or quality and gave the ball away far too often.

We got exactly what we deserved out of that game

Winks should not be playing any level of league football. He was embarrassing again last night. The most pathetic and infuriating player I've ever seen in a Spurs shirt and that's saying something.
He is weak in every aspect but still has people giving him 6/10 for being "neat and tidy".

just painful watching very little movement ahead of the ball except in the final third…..

and watching Winks pick the ball up sooo deep…..usually in between our defenders….

Conte will not be given enough money to sort this out

 

.I agree guesty that there is no way that levy will give Conte the amount needed to improve this train wreck of a team.I expect Kane to go and that leaves us with Son Romero kulu Betancour andSkipp who are the standard needed.Of the rest maybe we can find 2 or 3 squad players.These means we need at least 7 first teamers and there is no way we will splash the cash for that many players.If you were a top player would you want to be part of the Levy plan.To rebuild this squad will take 3 to4 years and Conte has never stayed at a club this long.Surely somewhere there is somebody who can buy outENIC.after all we must surely be a bigger name than Newcastle

Can't disagree with the overall sentiment though... Winks is extremely poor... prone to the odd good game... but his best is nowhere near good enough to mitigate his worst

No I don’t want a Russian buyout so why try to put words in my mouth.But I would welcome a buyout from some one .For your information there are some rich people not from Saudi or Russia.Funnily our current owner ain’t poor but just not interested in football.I would beware Americans like the glazers although they do spend money even if it is more debt.

 

I think the point is, the type of buyer that you are hoping for, would potentially have other things associated. The debts that the Glaziers are piling onto United is nothing to be envious of. IMO the owners and Levy are running the business side ok. We just need to hope that Paratici can improve the recruiting to get better results which will then lead to more revenue to reinvest

I'd also like to see where I've said Winks is neat & tidy, for years I've said he's not good enough for Spurs or even the PL.

 

I agree Thfc that we need for Paratici to up his game with the recruiting but if you think that Levy will lob the cash for at least 8 players then you are dreaming.I note that Conte has had his say again today saying there is no manager in the world who could fix spurs quickly.While on the fact that Levy is running the business side ok only Chelsea have more debt and that is owed to the departing Russian Abramovic.United for all their faults are 300 million Better than us.The stadium will probably start to pay for itself after a few years of concerts and American football but that won’t help the football side
