Great result, Son steps up again. He always seems to play well without Kane on the field, Poch needs to find a way to get the best out of both while on the field. Clean sheet was the aim, I agree with you Felon. We need to keep it tight at the Ethiad and hit them on the counter.

On another note, HK's ankles are starting to be a real problem. Poch needs to start monitoring/managing him better before it really derails his career. Firstly, Kane always comes back too early before fully healthy. This is where Poch needs to step in and look out for his future. Second, we desperately need a back up...there are a lot of good players out there, if only DL is willing to spend what it takes to get them. Lacazette was one big miss, Moussa Dembele could have been one, Icardi is someone as well. Seriously, get it done!

Spurs back up for Kane are Jansen and Llorente and with six games to play llorente Imo is the better bet. Finding that back up striker seems to be a problem for the spurs scouting dept.
Mp has played the diamond with Son and Kane up top, however, it can leave the wide areas exposed.
Playing son in a wide attacking role gives the team a better shape, i was impressed with sons defensive work vs city.
Spurs will only pay big money when they sell a player or if they can get him on the never-never.
Whoever spurs put out a win is a must, Huddersfield are not bottom of the league for no reason.

I'd go with alli up top flanked by moura and Son . Giving janssen a lifeline could be a secret weapon but cannot see it happening..

Spurs are down to the bare bones in attack, if Ali can play vs city then agree he should play the false 9 role flanked by Moura and son, however, if he is unfit Llorente is the only option. Lamela's fitness record is appalling, whoever decided to give him a new contract, should be sacked.
Spurs have to make top4 so a win is a must, spurs have to play a strong attack maybe rest the FB's and one CB, if Wanyama or dier are fit could maybe rest one cm. Coys

The selection of City game is quite simple: the squad that left the pitch last Tue will start. The Terriers will see mostly altered group with up 6-7 players from top XI are sitting on the bench, resting for Guardiola tie and being called for at the end in case Spurs are not winning by then.

No, the team that finished had winks and ali off. The team that starts should be the one that started against city with Llorente or Moura replacing Kane. Or maybe bringing Dier on to shore up the middle and get them on the break

Think Rose will be rested for weds for Davies and sanchez also will come in for a Centre half. Wanyama played a decent Cameo v city so could possibly feature. I'd imagine the cart horse will start also. Lloris Tripps sanchez Jan wanyama sissoko son eriksen moura llorente.

Cant underestimate how big this game is today, 3 points is an absolute must.

The team Poch has put out looks shocking he's rolled the dice with his paper thin squad let's hope this season it actually comes off.

    This aged well :)

    Shockingly good you meant?

In all seriousness, I would have worried if this team was against a top 6 team but Huddersfield are a slam dunk!
Notwithstanding the opposition, I thought Moura (obviously) and Llorente were great. Kwp and foyth did well but Foyth needs to get a bit more speed on him
And how has Sissoko become my favourite player- he is just a beast who never gives up

Hind sight is always 20-20 , I was happily surprised by the result unfortunately I missed the match due to work but by all accounts it was a good performance.
Great to see Moura stepping up when needed.

Was a very risky line up tbf. Almost a mid table line up but credit to poch it paid off improve the goal difference, points on board and players rested for weds. Llorente very poor but moura wow showed why he was considered the next World star today cannot remember too many better hatrick for spurs in a long while.

This stadium is quickly becoming a fortress, we need to ride this momentum and make sure we win all our remaining home games. Delighted to see Moura shine today, thought Llorente played well, just missing that sharpness from not playing often. Waynama is a beast, just been so unfortunate with the injuries.

We have a great opportunity of closing out this season well, let's not mess it up! This will be our most important transfer window, having CL football is a must!!

Surprised you thought Llorente was poor. I guess , yes he did miss a few chances but I thought his hold up play and movement was good and he got himself Lots of chances . Also if he had put that one away instead of hitting the crossbar from Foyth’s pass it would have been glorious

Anyway it will be interesting to see team for city - hope winks is fit but at least victor looks like he has got his mojo back to offer more midfield options

Spurs wouldn't have got away with that team and formation against most pl teams, the fact that Skipp and Marsh were on the bench shows the squad is at breaking point.
The football gods smiled on spurs having this fixture when the squad is so depleted, that being said you can only beat whats in front of you and spurs did that well enough.
Moura's hatrick was very good taking him to a respectable 10pl goals for the season, hopefully spurs can get dele and winks back for the Cl game vs city. Coys

Hope Mp goes with a 4231 formation. With winks being out Sisoko and wanyama to play the cm/dm role. I hope Wanyama is up to the pace, if he is then that is quite a solid midfield base. Moura, Ce and son to play behind dele who should start and play false 9 role, if his hand can't handle it then Llorente can come on to lead the line.
MP got the set up and tactics spot on last week and if spurs can repeat that performance they will win the game outright. The key is to press but not to the extent that you leave a hole in midfield between defence and attack. Spurs did this well and engaged city as high up the field as possible always forcing them to play at a true pace. The final piece of the jigsaw is not being afraid to play. Spurs must posses the ball with confidence and pass with accuracy and take any chances to score. Coys

please tell Trippier he is marking Stirling and what is the substitution about as our chances of scoring on the break have been lessened 50per cent
