Exciting Argentinian prospect Sebastian Driussi has fuelled speculation over a potential move to Tottenham having taken to Twitter and retweeting two separate reports linking him with the club.

The 18 year old, an attacking midfielder currently lending his services to Argentina's River Plate and the national U17 squad, has a good goal scoring record and has been heralded as one of South America's most promising youngsters.

The Mirror have reported that the Argentinian starlet will cost Tottenham around £6m but with the newly appointed Pochettino reportedly keen on Driussi, it seems like a deal could be possible. The player himself has retweeted the article posted by the Mirror linking him with Spurs as well as a Spurs fan account from Indonesia suggesting something similar. It would be strange if there weren't truth in these reports having had personal acknowledgement from the player.

Spurs are in need of offensive options (Steffan Freund's voice seemingly unsatisfactory), with the temperamental Emmanuel Adebayor and misfiring Roberto Soldado seemingly unfit to guide Tottenham in to that coveted top four position. Promising youngsters in Harry Kane and Souleymane Coulibaly have both made cases for cementing positions in the first team, yet neither have showed the dominance and clinical finishing required of a striker spearheading a team mounting a serious challenge for a Champions League place.

Pochettino, reportedly keen to bolster his attacking options, may well look abroad. His man-management skills are highly rated and Driussi may see a Tottenham, led by the Argentinian and struggling for attacking options, as a way for him to catapult himself in to the mainstream transfer lists of football's elite and develop as a player. At Spurs the youngster may well get a chance to play regularly in the Premier League and will take less of a risk in being loaned out immediately after a transfer as he would with a club like Chelsea.

The youngster has a lot to prove in far better leagues than the Argentinian one, but River Plate, best known for their export of Hernan Crespo, have been admired for their academy development and the deal will offer them a substantial fee for a player that it seems Tottenham are almost desperate for.

These are the sort of signings we need tapping into the knowledge and links of pochettino in Argentina
And south america trying to find the next big thing. On a day where chelsea can nonseintly fork out and sign fabregas we simply cannot compete. Don't profess to know anything about the boy but I'm sure poch will and at 6m represents a significantly lower risk than what we signed in the summer and will come with less pressure to succeed instantly like what was expected of the unfortunate lamela ..

If it can be considered another potential piece of evidence to this story, his facebook page, or at least an active one - is part of a group called 'Tottenham Hotsurs'. Make of that what you will.
