Good professional performance but allowing for the second half changes I still can’t accept some of the sloppiness in our passing.Young Devine at 16 showed glimpses of great promise as him and White showed up some of the more senior players.Still can’t see Gedson and his free kick apart Moura does nothing to change my opinion of him.Ali was class but was not put under any real pressure. But we are in the next round which Leeds can’t say.

Yeah good win. and good for a few of the young lads to get pitch time.
Rodon looked composed. as did White.
Dele did well when he decided to join in.
still not sure about the PL capabilities of Gedson or Moura or Vini (even though he scored 3).
Bale......what has happened to a very decent Madrid player (even in 2018)?? he seems leggy/slow and not as sharp as needed (even against today's lesser opponent)

couple of moments in the game where their Sunday league thugs (LB & CF) kicked out.....and we did well to hold our discipline. especially as one was Dele!

Is Scott Parker joking moaning about only getting 3 days notice about rearranged game when the original game was called off by Fulham only 2 hours before the game was due to be played

  4. Guesty Guest

hopefully it’s a good game for us to play.
I was disappointed when it was called off as I felt at home we should be looking for 3 points

Please don’t come on here and tell me that tonight’s performance was anything other than a disgrace..I am totally and utterly fed up to the back teeth watching us surrender in the second half of games and it’s now 11 points thrown away by tactics of the manager. How can Fulham be so superior to us in the second half.Just think where we would be without the second half collapses.Once again Winks does nothing and Dier gets out jumped for the equaliser.Familiar story I am afraid.Ndombele great first half and spends second half giving ball away for fun Why did we buy Rondon if we don’t give him a chanceJose once again does not see the danger until it’s too late and I am afraid he can’t change his ways and we will not win anything of real note with him in charge.By the way Pochetino won his first trophy tonight with PSG.Surely Ali was worth trying when we needed another goal

Talking about Pochetino winning his first trophy already I would remind our fans that after 17 games last year we had 4 fewer points than this year and Pochetino was sacked

That was terrible...we made a really poor side look half decent.
We really must stop hoping that Kane or Son will pop up and save the day in the final 10 mins having invited pressure for so long. We must know that our approach invites teams to have possession which in turn invites teams to create chances? This approach works well against good sides who press high but for the 18 other teams in the league just fills them with confidence and belief that they will create chances. We were lucky that the Fulham forward wasn’t good enough to play a first time ball inside at the end of the second half as we would have been reflecting on a loss against Fulham...unreal

I don't share the grave mood that has been formulated here. I will defend our coach, as I always do. I did that with Harry, with AVB, did it with Sherwood, did it with Poch. I am not going through Spurs coaches in earlier than last decade. I supported them as well.
Coach cannot score goals or prevent goals from being conceded. All that coach can do is to create by his teaching, game plan and team selection A POSITIVE BALANCE OF CHANCES for his team. Spurs had 5-6 chances I would grade A+ to score in the game against Fulham. The opponent had just one A+ chance. Spurs scored one goal. Fulham scored one goal. End of story.
The manner a particular team plays is irrelevant. The only thing that does matter is the balance of chances. Mou did his job against Fulham.
Could JM have done better? Yes, Ndombele played 20 min too much. Dele must have been used, as team badly needed a playmaker. He decided to use Kane in that role, it didn't quite work that particular match. But JM still delivered the required balance of chances for which Spurs must have vanquished Fulham.

Not sure I can agree with that summary. It’s absolutely not all the managers fault however playing with 2 x holding MF’s against Fulham was not required. Yes we had a handful of chances but we had none of the ball in the second half and quite frankly it could have been 3-3 so at least we only conceded 1. How can you say Fulham only had one good chance? Towards the end of the game RLC should have shot or passed and that would have been a goal. Also Kamara took the ball just in our half with one defender with him and Lookman completely unmarked in the middle....if he had any ability at all he would have switched play and Lookman would have been in. Lookman by the way was the best player on the pitch for the 25 mins he got.
For all of your optimism, take a breath and remember that we played Fulham so that should have been 3 points and the manner in which the team plays during the dropping of 2 points against a bottom 3 side is very relevant.

This article sums it up brilliantly

This article reveals everything we think about what we see but above all ... what we have been supporting since Mourinho took over the team! A close friend, a Real Madrid supporter, wished me "good luck" when he heard that Mourinho was Tottenham's new manager. Never, he told me, he was so bored watching his team play. We're talking about Real Madrid ...! It's been the same for over a year now. Ok, we all said that we are ready to see our team play defensively, to see them suffer, to see them stay low on the pitch if ... In the end, there are Titles! Well for the first time of the season, I say the opposite! I prefer what I saw under the orders of AVB, Sherwood, Harry R (especially) and Poch (apart from the last matches) than even if we don't have a title at the end but at least we have victories that leave memories that we won't have this season. No need to remind you of the victories against Arsenul, Chelscum 3-4 years ago. Victories where the team played high, pressed its opponent until the last minutes to have the victory at the end! We have never seen that or almost never since the arrival of Mourinho. I love football and Spurs too much to see them suffer in every game and to lose points through cautious tactics and without any ambition.

It's clearly obvious that Mourinho instructed Spurs to draw with Fulham last night, he is a monster.
If only he'd let Son score his chances or took the shackles off Winks & Sissoko we'd be formidable again.
Sanchez did brilliantly to let his man go before falling over and then Dier was tactically perfect in not being close to his man and being out jumped again.
It was a tactical masterclass carried out by the team.
The way these internationals manage to look so average under instruction is a credit to their ability to follow the plan.
It's definitely a ploy to passively watch a game pass them by especially the midfield they must take no on field responsibility for their performance whatsoever.

Who picked them? JM is not fully responsible for the performance but he is partially responsible as he continually plays Dier who managed to jump 3 inches in front of the attacker for the header. He also chose to play, in effect, 4 at the back with 3 holding MF’s against Fulham?

Sorry felon I have agreed with lots you have said over time but you really can’t put everything down to the poor players even though some are brain dead ones.Mourino picks the team and gives them instructions and don’t tell me the players don’t follow them because we all know that Jose will drop people who don’t conform Pogba being a good example and look at him now. There was a reason Man united got rid of him after winning 2 cups and finishing second in league and it was not to do with winning cups? Why is he playing Dier who can’t get off the ground when we have signed Rondon and he pairs him with the disaster Sanchez. When did we last see Kane play as a out and out striker when he put the fear into opponents and Son is starting to look frustrated with lack of service..Sissoko should only play if we are using two dms against the better teams.Surely Fulham don’t warrant 3 dms.I think White looks better than Winks but Jose won’t try that and neither will he recall a better player from Norwich.Let’s be honest Jose has not improved most of the players since he has been there and in a few cases they have got worse.
Gareth Bale so far has been a total waste of space and I think the wasted 2 years have had their effect.WE all laughed at united hiring Solskar including me I admit but whichteam

would you rather watch for entertainment

Totally agree with previous post, as for people supporting the Manager not understand that at all he seems to be getting more vindictive by the day towards Deli ! gives him a game against Marine where he had a lot of the ball which would've done his confidence a bit of good then he dousn't even get on against Fulham not right ! some of the stuff he comes out with at his press conferences baffles me as well, realise he's he's helped us get to a final but only way can see us winning that is either De Bruyne is injured or we nick an early goal park the bus for rest of game and have a lot of luck ! apart from that we have thrown away at least 9/10 points already this season would put that mainly down to Mourinho's poor subs/tactics.

Same players that were doing the same things under Poch for 18months do the same things under new Manager.

Is it both their faults or is it the players?

Watch the Fulham goal from start to finish Sissoko tracks the wrong player then just stops.
That player then runs in between Aurrier & Sanchez and because Aurrier has to go to the player Sissoko shouldve been on it drags Sanchez out of position.
He's then turned too easily and the balls floated in, during this first phase Dier hasn't sensed any danger at all, Reg is marking 2 players at the far post Dier is in no man's land.
He misses the cross and Fulham score.

That's not coached or instructed that's poor players making poor choices sloppy and error prone as per usual the same quartet.

If Dier doesn't play then it's Toby but still there's Sanchez.
If Aurrier doesn't play there's still Doherty.
If Sissoko doesn't play there's who? Gedson?

Unless there's better options than saying Alli scored some goals 3 years ago why isn't he playing ?

    Then it's just being disingenuous.

There are sooo many players in this team stealing a living, never shouldve been bought or should've been sold n upgraded long ago.

They were doing the same things under Poch and they're doing the same things now and will to whomever the new guy is/will be because the fact of the matter is we are stockpiled with some awful footballers.

When the alternatives/answers are Lamela Alli Moura Winks LoCelso Bergwijn Rodon Tanganga Davies then you're clutching at straws for thinking things could be so much different if only a different manager was in charge.

If they can't do the basics/ugly stuff how do you expect them to do the flashy/technical/champagne stuff???

    It's deranged

Every commentator says that. I don't disagree, but neither do I agree. Attacking football is known for leaky defense (Pool, Wolves). Whilst defensive football is hard to watch and winning depends on a chance, if you are Mourinho or Rogers. Balance approach is non-existent no matter how desirable it might be. Look at City. Once they improved the defense, the best in PL they are, their scoring suffered. My point is simple: there is no tactical recipe that guarantees success. We had attacking coach, yet changed it to defensive. Results improved, but not enough to be satisfied. It was a radical change to which I disagreed at the time. But now it is not the time to switch back to attacking manager. If you want to fire JM, Simeone is the best choice. Rogers is a notch below.
